I'm almost at the verge of switching to electric. I have the nexon in Petrol AMT and my running cost is almost 11-13 Rs/km. This is because most of the running happens in the city (Which is Mumbai) and due to current traffic situation I end up paying a lot more than I should. It's only when I go for the occasional highway drives to lonavala or pune, the running cost becomes around 7 Rs/km. I have done a lot of research on EVs over the past year and from what I have learnt, i dont think you can put anymore battery in sub 4 meter cars. EVs internationally are over 4 meters so they are able the cram a bigger battery as well. In India, the size of the nexon is perfect to get around the busy city corners.
Is it a marketing strategy that people are feed only good about ev? 1) is there any analysis on capax and opex cost? 2) what is the resale / exchange model? 3) trustworthy to take on long drives? 4) with increasing Ev onroad would charging time will increase or decrease? 5) is overall carbon emission same or lower than petrol or diesel cars? One thing is clear that in future gulf countries can not blackmail over petrol prices. If Ev had not been introduced, then petrol prices would have been 200 rupees.
@MotorOctane could you please cover this scenario as well “What is the time taken by company for replacement of that particular battery cell if it gets damaged or corrupted”!!! How long it can be take in days???
Travelling should be a peace of mind not a tensed one as looking for charging place , stay for long time till car gets charged..who needs such thing in life which needs peace..
Let's not shy about the fact that EVs do require planning but only if one wishes to drive a very long distance without taking a break. Family trips on Indian routes, 250kms easily take 4-5 hrs and one requires to stretch, eat and get refreshed. I don't think many of us need to or can drive for more than 600kms a day. If one has purchased a vehicle keeping his usage in mind, there are EVs in India with a much higher range capacity to do even 600kms+ trips in no charge on the way. Ofcourse, it works the same way like in a engine vehicle. You need a bigger battery with a bigger car, you gotta pay more for it.
He is simply exaggerating the benefits. I say this while being a sustainability enthusiast. EV space is immature and is moving rather slowly, especially in India. This cannot be your only car. Hybrid cars with cleaner fuels can be a more sustainable solution in the long run.
Abe hybrid car 15-20lakhs me kitna aati hai.... Naam bata cars ka.... Hybrids hybrids... Ev mode me hybrids can only travel less than 10 kms.... Use ur brains bro.
Hybrids in the segment are costing more than EVs right now. All three strong hybrid (uc, GV, city) are costlier than Nexon EV and give very paltry range. You cannot drive very fast (40kmph limit for EV mode) and if you depress accelerator fully, the engine will assist as well so it is really finicky even when it comes to using the EV mode in strong hybrids (source team bhp user review of hyryder) Further even strong hybrid improves mileage only by 5-10% (not talking about ARAI figures, real figures) And you pay almost 2-3L extra for strong hybrid. Mild hybrid is even worse. Only PHEV are useful hybrid with actual range but no manufacturer will make those because it will kill sales of their ICE cars
@@shresthsonkar9207 these hybrid cars are expensive because they are a segment above Nexon. When Maruti puts the hybrid tech in dzire you will get better acquisition cost than necon. Anyway, I am not talking about specific car, but trying to compare ev tech vs hybrid tech in medium to long run. A combination of improved hybrid engines and clean fuels with ethanol mix, can be a better alternative, because you don't have fret about range anxiety, don't have create charging infra (single biggest challenge in ev adoption), and cheap fuel plus better mileage will lower running cost. Also the change for OEMs is also incremental for hybrid engines rather than setting up new drivetrain from scratch. So the moot point is wait n watch, but drive your existing car judiciously. People tend to justify their expensive mistakes and this guy just drove across the country to do so.
@@dakshkumarsingh909 swift already has hybrid in uk but mileage is nothing to celebrate at 54mpg or 23kmpl That’s the real mileage since European authorities are much more strict about false claims of mileage than Indian ARAI. This said swift sells at £16K which is exactly same as Nexon EV XZ+ (16.2L) Even if we say not Nexon, ZS EV is above Nexon segment? Agree? ZS itself sells for 22L which is same as the Hyryder top spec strong hybrid and city hybrid. ZS gets even more range. As far as charging infra goes, we are already at such a position where people can undertake pan India ride in EVs (like shown here) It’s not 2010 anymore, infra is in far better place. Even tier 2 and 3 cities have EV dealer and DCFC. Compared to petrol pump which costs crores (our extended family is in the pump business) to setup, DCFC uses already existing electric supply and located at relevant parking places like malls, offices and restaurants on highways It barely costs 10L to install a fast charger of 50kW compared to petrol pump costing 10x as much before land acquisition
@Abinash no not 50% it was 40% in 2020, now it’s higher capacity at same cost! Cost of batteries going down , better heat management … so you will have to spend much lesser after 10 years or so
But ev battery also create pollution So its not environment friendly Secondly if cost increase over time taxes and electricity price then all benifts would be gone

I have EV prime, i feel stearing is tight but service center people r saying its normal, is anyone facing same

There is no trick if your state is providing subsidies take benefits I had 2,50,000rs and 1,50,000rs tax benefits
Thank you sir
can you share the link of EV Community?
One thing is clear that in future gulf countries can not blackmail over petrol prices. If Ev had not been introduced, then petrol prices would have been 200 rupees.
@MotorOctane could you please cover this scenario as well
“What is the time taken by company for replacement of that particular battery cell if it gets damaged or corrupted”!!!
How long it can be take in days???
problem is after 1 year range deduct 100 km what will happened in next year
Really awesome
I buy Scorpio n Z8l then also I got z4 foot board
Tata❤🔥
I think Rachit himself should own one eV for his team.
He has ! 2 EVs !!!
Apki review bahut assi lagti hei
Owner ko kuch kuch Sunil Shetty jaisa kyu Lg rha hai mujhe 😂😂😂
Anna 😂😂
Asish ji ek din me 1000 km kaise journey kiye ?Kya unko bich me charge karna nahin pada ? Agar charge kiye to usme 8 - 10hrs laga hoga ?
Bhai fast charger name ka ek machine hai
You cannot drive very fast (40kmph limit for EV mode) and if you depress accelerator fully, the engine will assist as well so it is really finicky even when it comes to using the EV mode in strong hybrids (source team bhp user review of hyryder)
Further even strong hybrid improves mileage only by 5-10% (not talking about ARAI figures, real figures)
And you pay almost 2-3L extra for strong hybrid.
@@dakshkumarsingh909 swift already has hybrid in uk but mileage is nothing to celebrate at 54mpg or 23kmpl
That’s the real mileage since European authorities are much more strict about false claims of mileage than Indian ARAI.
This said swift sells at £16K which is exactly same as Nexon EV XZ+ (16.2L)
Even if we say not Nexon, ZS EV is above Nexon segment? Agree? ZS itself sells for 22L which is same as the Hyryder top spec strong hybrid and city hybrid.
ZS gets even more range. As far as charging infra goes, we are already at such a position where people can undertake pan India ride in EVs (like shown here)
It’s not 2010 anymore, infra is in far better place. Even tier 2 and 3 cities have EV dealer and DCFC.
Compared to petrol pump which costs crores (our extended family is in the pump business) to setup, DCFC uses already existing electric supply and located at relevant parking places like malls, offices and restaurants on highways
It barely costs 10L to install a fast charger of 50kW compared to petrol pump costing 10x as much before land acquisition
Please compare safari 2023 vs ScorpioN vs XUV700
Lot of problems in tata naxon max xz plus like charging, range, battery etc
Ye muje Akash Dodeja yani jaadu ki tarah kyu lag rahe he...😂😂
What is cost of battery refurbishment ?? Missed in discussion with ashish. Pl reply
Free for 8 years
@Abinash no not 50% it was 40% in 2020, now it’s higher capacity at same cost! Cost of batteries going down , better heat management … so you will have to spend much lesser after 10 years or so
Electric car kitne sal k liye valid hai ncr areas me . Jase diesel aur petrol pr 10 15 sal ki hai
For now 15 years but it’s supposed to be 30
Years very soon
i don't like EVs,i love petrol engines.we are last generation who use these legendary engines.
But more power between ev and ic engine it is ev..!
Ok Karo it's your money do as you please
@MotorOctane how to drive ev car and how to get best range iss par video banaye
But ev battery also create pollution
So its not environment friendly
Secondly if cost increase over time taxes and electricity price then all benifts would be gone
I used to watch this channel for car knowledge.
Now it's just a Tata's PR channel
Great, keep the money ready for battery replacement!
