I bought a tata tiago ev 8 months back , have done almost 10,000 kms driving in my hilly state ( North East), get about 230_250 kms without ac , don't need AC because climate in hills is temperate. Like the car very much , no regrets.. EV'S are perfect for hills. Cons÷ Hope that tata has a separate service centre for EV'S only , coz its a bummer to jostle with ice cars.
One thing that I haven’t seen any reviewer talk about until now is the benefit of having the charging pin to the side. MG ZS EV’s charging pin is in the front. In case of an accident (most of which happen from the front) its charging mechanism could get completely destroyed. After that one will have to spend a lot of money to get it repaired.
The gear pad is very hard to manage . It often gets stuck . The boot door once opened has to be literally banged down to be shut. The parking brake once switched on , it is near impossible to get it off . You will have to switch the car off and switch on again to release the parking brake .
The boot door is a simple adjustment in the lockset. In first service they should be able to fix it. Parking brake issue is strange. Should get that checked
Mostly city drives are predictable. Once in a while outstation travel can be planned. There has been tremendous growth in fast chargers availability in last 10 months
Good luck with the Tata EVs. And good luck trying to get issues resolved through Tata service. Coming from a 2 yr old Tata Nexon EV customer. Even logged a complaint on Tata Service on Consumer forum
Steering volume controls not working. Suspension creaking sounds and harshness over even minor bumps. Battery SOC dropping all of a sudden. Seat belt noise, limp mode-HV alert and then abrupt breakdown. All of these.
Yes , but Tata has also improving their cars and service both day by day so we can hope that one day Tata will give us same quality which German brands give and same service like Toyota and Hyundai
Some time even elevation also becomes a factor in less or more range .Like if I drive from Bangalore to Chennai it gives more range than Chennai to Bangalore
Recently I did my first long trip with ZSEV from Chikmangaluru to Sringeri ( Adi Shankaracharya Math ) which was around 100 km one way . This path was full of hilly road and lots of up and down . I had started from Chikmangaluru with 97 % soc and reached Sringeri with 76% soc while on return journey to my hotel in Chikmangaluru it was 54% soc ! It was such great feeling when car was regenerating the battery miles after miles and battery % was not going down ! Wonderful experience.

Hi This is because of a software update, even I had the same issue but after the software update that got corrected This update is not OTA you have to go to service centre and get this done
i drove zs ev for 2 days Dheradoon Ride from Delhi... every 15% drop i was getting 65 KM... max speed 75KM per Hour. i drove for 650 KM... winters with fog condition. Cruise control On... total Expenditure 1500 using commercial charges in route... i would go for ZS ev spending 25 Lakh instead taking Tata Nexon EV for 21 Lakh... youwont get that premiumness in nexon ...
As Great Steve Jobs once said, technology should move out of your way, you should not have to think about the technology more than it is absolutely needed. If TATA has kept a separate section for the batteries that will be used for the last 5% change of the vehicle and you have to think about them separately and take care of them separately then it becomes another chore in your life. I do not want to add another chore to my life when buying a car apart from having the car, driving the car and taking it to service from time to time.
@@MotorByte I don't think I have misunderstood. I have gone through that section of the video multiple times. The owner said that there is a section of the battery that is never touched if you don't discharge below 5%. Now I doubt TATA would intentionally make something like that. And the only logical explanation would be they are importing a BMS that is made that way.
I agree with you, Tata made Convertion kit and not real ev. Inverter , motor , battery BMS most ecu are imported from China? Not made in India. Lot of software issue , indicating toomuch of interlock without much sense? Communication hangs .. users are asked to do tricks like lock doors keep away and restart... This is soft way of communication restart otherwise disconnect aux battery and reconnect hard reset .. what is this ? Tata have to go to design table again . Atleast copy same standards of proven EVs in production. This car is made inhurry without any design sense.
No this is wrong info. This would give easily 320+ infact if you drive properly this would anytime give around 350+ Range, i have tested it personally.

No fun in driving TATA’s EV being an owner of Tesla in SK and MG in India and also being from the same ACC industry, Gotion cells degradation is the highest in whole industry nor it is in Tier 1 Lithium Cells suppliers. I would trust cells from Tier 1 manufacturers such as BYD , CATL, EVE
My empowered LR DOES NOT give the range I expected. Just charging to 310km. It's about of a fake..... Long range is no different from my previous ev max.

The owner's knowledge needs to be applauded here. He seems to be having more knowledge and experience than most of the reviewer. Great.

Well this is a valid point and good observation. Thanks Kashish bhai
@@Abhishek.j.p oh no!!! Why!!!! Tata was doing so many things right. Then why this change!! :(
This is beacuse of the new Gen 2 Architecture which is called as (ACTI.EV) architecture, charging point is in the front
Very valid point. It should’ve a design consideration for all EVs
From feedback of many users charging at regular place had some issues regarding chargers, that's why they have changed location of charging port.
The gear pad is very hard to manage . It often gets stuck . The boot door once opened has to be literally banged down to be shut. The parking brake once switched on , it is near impossible to get it off . You will have to switch the car off and switch on again to release the parking brake .

EV is still for customer with schedule travel distance. Its not for those whose travel distance is uncertain
I think, In uncertain situation also you have an option for fast recharge
@@MotorByteYes sir . But charging station should be available everywhere. I don't think we have enough charging stations in highways

Very nicely explained about deep charging the Ev, Thanks sir

Steering volume controls not working. Suspension creaking sounds and harshness over even minor bumps. Battery SOC dropping all of a sudden. Seat belt noise, limp mode-HV alert and then abrupt breakdown. All of these.

Does the fearless variant come with 7.2 kW AC Home Wall Box Charger included in the price. Or do we pay extra for it?
no it only comes with the top model LR variant, you have to pay extra 50,000rs in other models
In empowered and empowered+ variant you will get the 7.2kw charger included
Nice review Aman bhai as usual. Yes App infra needs to be a streamlined and made more easier to use.👌👍👏
