This guy's work is absolutely amazing. Not only are the designs incredible, but the sheer amount of patience one needs to follow through with it. It's definitely an art form.
Beautifully and artfully done as always. I can't imagine anyone receiving one of your cutting boards actually using it to cut on! They are more like a work of art than a kitchen cutlery accessory.
A beautiful example of the 'art of woodworking'. My mother hung her cutting board on the wall 40+years ago to show her appreciation. Its not just tools but thinking through the process and adapting to what a craftsman has available. This 64 year old shop teacher is down to a one-car garage which can't contain the thrill of making due with minimal equipment. From your lay up methods I'm heading toward the lathe :)
The video gets full marks. The sequencing and planning was fabulous, it made it seem like I could do that, I know how to rip and glue and clamp. The board was pristine yet the two children laughing at the end were just filled with kiss and hug marks..! This was the best educational video I have seen it made the viewer feel confident and secure. The best was the end, the joy of these huggable boys. A spiritual uplift. The magic of Grace is it works over and over, melded to the stream of time its gifts remain powerful forever. You must be doing something right!
Absolutely amazing. I can't imagine the concentration it would take to plan this and not flip the wrong board anywhere in this process. This is by far my favorite did of yours. Thanks for sharing!
I just repeat what already has been said, how thankful to see your talent so artfully expressed, and your willingness to share it with us. I cannot solve a Rubik's cube so I don't have any idea how I would re-create one of your beautiful boards. Blessings to you and your family.
All that music and no talking is what is "wrong" with it. Still that is no reason to unlike it. Very nice project but I do not like this type of video. So I will not click LIKE nor will I give it a thumbs down. Again a very nice project and why not with that great shop. Keep it up.

Excellent video and a beautiful board. Those two employees are taking you for a ride. I'd sack them pronto. they are enjoying themselves far too much and if they were supposed to be clearing up, they were rubbish. ... But very cute. God bless you all.
Love the clean up crew at the end. Now I see why your shop is so clean lol. They way you dipped the board in that pan was cool. That is how I was thinking of coating wood and I see it works better that way. Great work.
It is absolutely beyond me how anyone could give a thumbs down on this video. Perhaps they are overwhelmed by the number of steps. I don't know. This is mind blowing to me. That someone could design and execute this piece. I am in awe of your work. And inspired!

Hello I have to tell you I made a few of these cutting boards as gifts and the reaction is overwhelming so I want to thank you for a great design and idea. I am building an addition where I work and the neighbor has let me park in her driveway so I made her one to say thank you and she loved it. I wish you all the best and good fortune , oh just so you know the twins will always pull you back to earth, notice how they look at each other and fly out of the room. Vodka will help.
Beautiful job, and the kids at the end made me laugh...watch out for the younger one, demolisher as he grows...had to subscribe....greetings from Australia
You don't need a huge amount of space, or a huge investment to get into this. This guy has a fairly high-end, expensive shop; he's clearly invested a fair sum into it. You don't need a shop of this caliber or size to make projects like this. All you really need for projects like this are a Radial Arm Saw [$150 used] (with saw blade [$30], radial planer [$30], and edging router bit [$30]) an Orbital Sander + paper [$30 used], 2 long clamps [$20ea] and 6 F-Clamps [$10ea]. If you shop smart and buy used, you can get into this for just a few hundred bucks.
+Jex134 What stops many of us is space to put all that and use it. Everywhere I've lived in the last 10 years, a place to put the tools where I can use them when I'm not at my regular job would cost more than (new) tools themselves would be to buy outright, per month. $400 or even $1000 in tools once, $800+ for an industrial zoned workshop every month (more like $1500+ if it's within half an hour travel of my apartment).
Tom Mullen If I had the materials to, I could - all I have is pallet wood though, which is mostly spruce and oak. I'd need to buy some actual decent material for this affect.
+Tom Mullen No shit!! besides tools that are on your list. YOU also got to have that one stuff. you know? Oh that's right TALENT!!!!!! that and the ability to see 15 moves ahead. but your expert opinion is so valuable! I'm going to build 5 tonight.

Not to mention it's wood :-/. Cut on it for a couple yrs, plane it down a 1/16th (any wood shop, would do this for a nominal fee), sand it with some 320, and it looks like new. It's beautiful, but made to be used.
Makes me cringe when I'm out and hear someone say "500 dollars for that?!" when looking at a something hand-crafted. Most people would have no idea the amount of work that goes into things like this. The time and effort that go into things like this are what makes them valuable.
