mtmwood.
Hello. Just wanted to say that watching you make your beautiful cutting boards is just one of the things that make me happy while I battle terminal cancer. Thank you.
You, sir, are a genius! I love how from one direction it looks like a hollow lattice, and from the other it looks like a huge bar of chocolate. I've already built #1 as a wedding present and am half way through #16 as a Xmas present for my son. Now my wife wants this one. You're going to keep me busy. Many thanks for uploading these videos. I'm also drooling over your machinery!
mtmwood You're welcome. But thank you for the inspiration. Your boards are kind of like quilting in wood. My family has been quilters for generations and have made some quilts similar to some of your boards. This design would make a beautiful quilt as well. Thank You for sharing.
Beautiful cutting board would like to know some of the dimensions of the wood but I guess you can pretty much use your own judgment time consuming to build but very nice and will last a long time
Amazing artistry and craftsmanship! Can you tell me what machine/method you used to clamp the very wide laminated boards together? Was that a vacuum press or a pneumatic press?
I just want to say Thank you for these videos! They are Very appreciated! I just made one of your cutting boards for a Christmas present, one of the kayotic ones, and everyone Loved it! 1st board I've ever made! It was a lot of work, but I definitely want to make more and try the more challenging designs! Thank you, and Have a Happy New Year!

Good evening, I am a big fan of your work with cutting boards, especially those you cnc to do beautiful jobs, like the emblem of the Soviet state and the buldog, I'm using google translator because I do not speak Russian, and like almost all Brazilians, I love a good barbecue and I'm enjoying their work. I would like it if you could tell which woods you use on your cutting boards, I know you can not smell, taste, and non-toxic, congratulations on your work and I await your response.

Wonderful work, I have made several of your boards and I have never seen you apply glue to both boards when you make your panels. Is this how you have always glued them up or did you change your method of making panels. Have a great year.
He uses that when the saw blade would be running parallel to the grain direction, i.e. when cutting through wood with the grain running up-down. In this orientation the blade isn't cutting through wood fibres, as it is designed to do, meaning it gives a poorer cut quality and is slower to do the cut. With the ramp he allows the blade to cut the fibres more easily, improving the quality and speed of the cut.
Ah, very interesting and makes sense. It is a bit unusual to 'resaw' wood in the orientation that you do on the band saw so you hit upon all sorts of issues most woodworkers don't experience.
Your work has been very inspirational to me. How long did it take you to make one of these? Thanks again for offering educational entertainment. I wish you and your family have a great new year.
Andrei, how wide do you make the initial strips before they are glued? I assume the maple, walnut and cherry are all the same width initially, and thickness for each panel is determined after the glue up. Perhaps I am confused and would greatly appreciate you clarifying these dimensions . Thank you for a prompt reply.
Your craftsmanship is stunning. The elaborate detail in your cutting boards are so beautiful and it is fascinating to watch you create these works of art. Is there any way to purchase your work is the U.S.?
Hi! My name is Carlos, I'm from Argentina and I'm starting to manufacture end grain cutting boards. I am very inspired by your work, and I am very grateful for the knowledge that you share with all of us. Can I ask you something? Is there any way to avoid that after a wash, the table is no longer smooth to the touch? I mean that the divisions between the parts begin to be noticed as they apparently expand in a different way. After sanding and oiling are like new again, but this is not a task that buyers have in mind to make when making a purchase. Am I clear? Sorry for my level of English, and thanks in advance for your help! Ahhh... And another question I want to ask you is: for some reason it is not advisable to insert edge grain parts in an end grain board? Thanks!
The board becomes rough only after the first watering - ruclips.net/video/TgsrhXAQDec/видео.html. The board becomes smooth after a week of use. Also you can water the unfinished board, dry it and sand again. Then oil the board. It will be not so rough after the first watering.
Parabéns, meus amigos do outro lado do mundo!

Hi. I'm kind of new to woodworking so I just wanted to ask what type of timbers did you use to create that amazing masterpiece please? Because I was hoping to incorporate the same design on my Major Project which is going to be a wooden sofa. Thanks
@@mtmwood thanks for telling me what timbers you used. This has helped me so much. Now I can start ordering my timber and get stated on my major project.
You know, when I first saw the video, I didnt realise that the image was a optical illusion. I was just sitting here wondering why a guy would make a chopping board that has bits sticking out of it.
I wish you a Happy New Year!

Cutting boards work better when they're flat! cool build. nice upload. I like how this shop has everything times ten.
Something this beautiful I’d never want to use! I’d just want it sitting on my countertop always being it’s beautiful self!
Wonderfull!!! Great Job. You are an artist
Another masterpiece in wood. Great video too. Honestly the glue up technique is artistry in itself.
Thanks!
This is beautiful workmanship, I am in awe!! The optical illusion of the squares is messing with my brain though! Stunning...🤗 from 🇬🇧
Thank you for the video. Your boards are such works of art. You have turned me into a board maker too!

Félicitation c’est du très beau travail :-).. 🇫🇷
Amazing artistry and craftsmanship! Can you tell me what machine/method you used to clamp the very wide laminated boards together? Was that a vacuum press or a pneumatic press?
Interesting, I saw it as a board that looks like lots of little boxes rather than truncated pyramids. Either way, it looks amazing.
This depends on a angle of the view.

Wonderful work, I have made several of your boards and I have never seen you apply glue to both boards when you make your panels. Is this how you have always glued them up or did you change your method of making panels. Have a great year.
The glued surfaces are big, so I apply thin coats of glue on both panels.
trying to replicate this now... in your drawings, the maple strips (grid) are 2mm, but in production, you make them 4mm... is there a reason for this?
I was wondering the same thing, also if the maple strips were end grain or not?
ruclips.net/video/O7JvI2Z2H6I/видео.html
17,0 - 39,0 - 22,0 is this the same as 17 mm 39 mm 22 mm ?? im just confuse with the comma ( , ) instead of decimal ( . )

Beautiful
Nicely done as always. Why do you use a ramp to cut your thin pieces on the band saw?
