- The “pay their way” mindset promoted by New York Governor Adams for the illegal immigrants filling up American states is nonsensical as Democrats just seem to be accepting an “illegal route” to employment, according to author Douglas Murray.
“People are leaving poor countries, they are going to one of the richest cities in the world where they are being given hotels to live in,” Mr Murray told Sky News host Rita Panahi.
“I understand why the people in question want to come … the benefits that accrue, accrue solely to the migrant.”

Great fact finding video. Hello to all true Americans, I am a U.K. citizen and I never realized you have the same migrant problem as us across the pond. The migrants could do the same but they are taking the easy way out, which is typical of todays society. In New York they are Uber drivers, cleaning services, basic paint jobs, and some times other deliveries like laundry. They always need a translator. I had a friend who got laundry delivered in nyc and the Spanish speaking migrant couldn’t understand ‘apartment 2’ so lost her clothes

Schools don't really teach history anymore. They teach to get the kids to pass the standardized tests. The 2016-17 school year my daughter was in 11th grade and took AP US History (it's an Advanced Placement class offered by the College Board that if you pass the final you can get college credit for so you don't have to take that class in college.) Anyway, the textbook contained factually incorrect information and the students were not allowed to do independent research. If she wrote a essay or paper with independently researched information then she'd fail the assignment. The same sort of issues happened her senior year when she took AP Government, but not on the same level because it's an easier course.
Maybe she should consider it a work of fiction she's writing. Not real history at all

Whilst agreeing with most of what Douglas is saying,I have to say that the benefits do not solely accrue to the migrants.The reason they are housed in luxury hotels in the UK is to encourage more.One simple example can be extended to any industry.The head of Severn Trent water is on 4 million a year .When she goes to bed at night what does she dream of ? Providing cleaner water ? Finding better ways of treating sewage? No .She is infuriated at her low salary compared to that of the heads of rival companies.She has a solution.More migrants mean more water used and more sewage flushed.More dosh in her pocket. There are massive negatives to this but they do not affect her.

I agree! My single daughter who was living in New York moved to Colombia in 2021. She's a gringa with a great paying job..her American $$ goes 10x further there. She lives like a queen and employs all her house staff for half the cost of just her rent in NY. Investing!

Can we maybe just leave kids out of all the politics and ideology? Doesn't make a difference if its a don't tread on me patch or a rainbow flag - kids are being pushed into being vehicles for their parents and teachers ideological viewpoints. It's insane.
