Fact..my wife and I including her brothers are all veterans and one brother has been waiting forever for a surgery from the VA. And not to mention another vet I knew who just said to hell with it and took his life on top of his denied benifits paperwork a few years back at the VA.

Well to play devils advocate liberal cities do have shelters but most homeless are either too mentally ill to try to better themselves and the drug addicts don’t want to follow the strict rules most shelters put in place. I was in a homeless shelter for awhile in NYC and it was an easygoing one but if you didn’t get back by 10pm you were locked out for the night until around 8am which means you were also locked in!

Not all homeless people are drug addicts or mentally ill, but, you're right, most of them are. Nevertheless, whatever money is being used to assist illegals should be used for the citizens. What Chicago is doing is a slap in the face to their homeless citizens who are desperately in need.

Me and my family lived in Chicago and was homeless in the mid late 90’s early 2000s going into 20 years living homeless, worked our way out of homelessness in 2009! nobody gave us a dime nothing free, we lived like animals on the streets, stayed in a few shelters and got thrown out of a few due to lost of funding at that time. so if we can give migrants everything they need here in America and want from everything free why can’t we help our current homeless Americans?
May I propose that any able-bodied young man or woman migrant between the ages of 18 and 35 be immediately enrolled into the U.S. military without VA benefits for three years after which they and their immediate family can take a citizenship test and become a legal citizen. Or if they choose to serve on the frontlines they will be granted citizenship in one year with no citizenship test required. If they refuse they should immediately be deported back to their country.

This is very hurtful as a born American citizen to see how much we are being overtaxed and pushed aside with no voice. It almost feels vindictive to have people come here to be treated this way and victimized but the main point is that I’m beyond words that I have relatives who were born here and worked their whole lives but got sick and still trying to get social security benefits for years. We as a family support them from our own pockets while still paying more taxes that are being spent on Ukrainian people then the president quietly passed a law last year that gives 2 years of cash checks and benefits to any Ukrainian person who comes here and a green card, working permit with no questions. I feel so sad when I see homeless American people living in dirt and trash. Why? How can this be happening in our country? The people coming across the border say in their country they are told that the U.S. is really belonging to Mexico. Their people here already feel the same way so that’s why they don’t care what those here are saying. They are looking out for their Spanish people and everyone looks down on black people.
