- Alas, I have jumped the shark. I have kneeled to the RUclips algorithm gods and will be doing top 10 videos.
I will be not be listing the ten fragrances here as it forces you all to watch the video in (hopefully) its entirety. If you scan and skip through, you may miss out on an easter egg or two...

This a great top 10 JJ - so different from everyone else's ('Parfum De Marly...Xerjoff...Roja...blah blah blah'). Please do more. I just went out and bought SMN Aqua de Cuba - what a great scent. I found you through your Mr Smelly collabs (which are great - I'm from the UK), then noticed that you'd often reviewed on Fragrantica and Basenotes fragrances I was checking out! This is so fresh! No one is reviewing these fragrances…the only one I’ve smelled from this list is Tabac Tabou, which took a few tries but now I love it. It’s a dank, swampy tobacco to my nose. So unique!

So this is the top 10 you were threatening. Wonderful video. Love tobacco usually in the more dry unsweet direction. The tobacco note in quorum I think is brilliant and Underappreciated in my opinion. I’m making a tobacco tincture in whiskey that’s nearly ready I’m excited for.
I am excited for your tobacco tincture as well! My next comparison video will likely be for Quorum.

However, I was very surprised that you did not mention Lutens Fumerie Turque since you wrote such a compelling review of it on one fragrance site just last month. I am curious as to why it did not make it into your top ten here?

Tabac tabou is great! Recently bought a sample. But I prefer to experience the fragrance from a distance and not get my nose too close to the skin.

Nice, a few here that it sounds like I should try, just based on seeing we seem to have a lot of similarities in taste. Super happy to see Tabac Taboo mentioned, lovely for sure. I''m between it and Fougere Bengal for my favorite tobacco in my collection. Bengal is sort of Taboo reversed.
Need to break out my Villoresi sample again, wasn't so excited when I first tried it, but was also thinking of it terms of 1740 from all the reviews comparing them.
I find 1740 and AX to have different enough scent profiles. You DO seem to have great taste!

@@JJColb Tested my sample of Atman Xaman, oh my, it’s terrific, asking the Mrs. for a bottle for Christmas. I just got a 50 ml of the Miller Harris, holy crap, thanks for the recco. I love clove type scents, and barbershop, this just hits the spot perfectly. I’m getting similarities to Caron 3’e Homme.
I think this may be my favorite top 10 list ever.

Is there a big difference between the years for Tabac Tabou ? Specifically the 2021 ?
I haven’t smelled last years’ yield but the current one I have smells better than the 2017 and 2018 samples I had!
I’ve bought 2021 version. It’s wonderful, very soft but opulent. Beautiful mastery. Majority of other neovintages looks clumsy and pretentious in comparison with this true Diva.
I wandered into a Santa Maria Novella boutique in Seoul, South Korea many moons ago, however I was quite penniless at the time so all i could do was test. Also, welcome to the dark side #toptensforlife
