Is your Fougère Royal sample the pre-50s discontinued original version?... as there's actually many vintage versions, Houbigant also owned subsidiary company's which released the same perfumes, but rebranded and at a lower price points for a larger market without devaluing the Houbigant brand. Chèramy/Diparco version (i own) is 'H pour homme' fougere royal EDC 90° 1963-75. Then in 1977 released by the new Gemey/Diparco/L'Oreal group again 'H pour homme' EDC 80° until mid-80s. And this is alongside Houbigant's boutique version released in 1959, 77, 88 and we'll for get about the 1993-99 RC Inc, bankruptcy years when they where just cheap rubbish sold in drug stores / supermarkets, before resurrection in 2010
