    The best thing I did on max efforts days is have phases of 'heavy efforts' and phases where i try to get a true max on. Max effort day doesnt always mean it is a test day. Plus hit a 5-10lb pr and just move on, leave a little bit of something in the tank

    Recovery is the biggest problem ive been having. Ive been sore for 5 days after my last 2 leg days

    • @phantomcreamer
      @phantomcreamer 4 года назад +1

      Depends on your programming and what you're doing on your off time that can be fixed, but it might pay off to use a lower % 1 rm or the rir tool in your training.

    • @carnut666
      @carnut666 4 года назад +4

      I would have that issue when my nutrition wasn't where it should be. Make sure you're getting enough protein (I go with 1.5g/kg of lean body mass) and enough carbs to fuel your workouts. Maybe experiment with frequency. If you're hitting muscles before they recover, you're going to compound your recovery issues.

    • @loganfluegel925
      @loganfluegel925 4 года назад +5

      Make sure you are recovering properly between your leg sessions (Law of 72 hours). Look at the intensity and volume of each session too. You might just be doing too much, too often. Good luck man!

    • @aaaaaa-iw2yj
      @aaaaaa-iw2yj 4 года назад

      Having leg day is like that to some extend. I'd recommend spliting leg day into 2 workouts with other muscles like arms or back and a lot of active recovery like walking or swimming. Sleep is also key.

    • @karangupta2292
      @karangupta2292 4 года назад

      @@phantomcreamer ive been using resistance bands and high volume to do my workouts becuase I dont have access to weights. I think my problem is that im doing too much volume so im going to have to experiment with that.

    First of all, love the videos and have learned a lot of valuable information from them within the last year or so. Having said that, I’m now helping a struggling high school develop a weight lifting program and am wondering how much of this I can implement into that program? Could your powerlifting program translate the same way?

    Is there anyway you can go over the sleep habits for law enforcement?
    For example, testosterone levels are usually highest during the evening past 8pm correct?
    If I switch from day shift to night shift, I’m struggling to sleep during the day, taking small naps. I also have to workout during the day, to make myself tired to sleep for 12hr night shifts. Am I losing testosterone? Does my body have enough time to adjust, because we switch back and forth between days and nights every 6 weeks.
