5min stretching routine for odissi dancers

  • Here is a short and simple stretching routine for odissi or bharatanatyam dancers that want to improve their flexibility and mobility. It is a modified version of Surya Namaskar that will stretch all the right muscles!
    Make sure to briefly warm-up by mobilizing all your joints for a few minutes before doing the routine. If you find some poses challenging, do not hesitate to use yoga blocks or a strap for the quad stretch.
    You can easily complete this routine everyday, even if you don't have a lot of time: 5 min of regular stretching can do a difference and support efficient recovery. You can easily add this to your training (in the morning or evening, at a separate time from your dance practice)
