What a lovely surprise to get the notification for your new video! I'm so glad to hear you'll be doing more. I wish more vintage costume jewelry experts were active on youtube. I also have a Ruby Lane shop, but there's always more to be learned. And of course it's always just a joy to see new pieces. The Schiaparelli bracelet is breathtaking!
I'm a Schiaparelli addict! Thanks for your kind words. I lost my husband in 2018 and sold my house, bought another, moved, dealt with estate all through 2019. I love doing these videos and hope it helps new collectors. Many more to come.
I’m so happy to see you posting again! I’d love to post this on FB and refer to it in my videos. Love you sharing your extensive knowledge with us for free!
Chapel Hill Vintage Jewels posted! I’ll mention too. I’d love to do more educational videos but they’re hard work, I appreciate you giving back. I understand how much it is to research, gather examples, film and edit. Thank you.
I have really just become interested in vintage jewelry collecting over the past year or so but I stay with the less expensive pieces. I inherited a few good things and hopefully one day will be able to spend a little more on something special. Your videos are great!
Thank you for this wonderful informative video. It clarified a lot of different names of cuts and stones for me. Your examples are amazing! So beautiful.
What a great video!!! Thank you for your time and knowledge! You know your stuff. I love how descriptive and the time you took to reinforce the ID of the stones. Absolutely exquisite collection . I'm going to mosesy on over to your next video. 👍👍
Thank you Lynne. I saw all your kind comments and am glad you found them interesting. I will be doing more so make sure you subscribe so you get notified. Definitely going to do a Specialty Stone #2.
Hi! I have a question. I have a necklace and earrings speidel set of large aurora borealis stones. I cannot find anything to research this piece. Except that they discontinued costume jewelry before 1950. Would you have any advice for me?
The first mass-produced aurora borealis-coated costume jewelry was made available to the public in 1955. It could not have been discontinued by 1950. Many manufacturers used this rhinestone so it is difficult to get anymore details.
Chapel Hill Vintage Jewels I have a few I was wondering if they had names. Maybe some iris glass. I have some I’ve been wondering about. I know I’ve heard some arguments on what dragons breath is and isn’t too. Who knew there was so much drama and arguments in jewelry :)
Thank you for this interesting video lesson. I’d love to know more about enameling and cloisonné in jewelry

Tastes change over the years. Buy what you love and will wear. Things that go in my collection must be things I would wear myself.

What about showing examples of uranium glass stones that glow under black light???
What do you call the stones that weren’t lava rock?
I just call them pressed glass - if you find another name let me know!

Be good if you showed us a better close up Just to general viewing ?
Great info but as an avid neiger collector most of us agree those dot enamel pieces are usa made.
sat/denim poured/molded glass?
There are so many to cover. Planning on a Part Two and Part Three. Great suggestions.
