Добавлен 15 апр 2017
Chapel Hill Vintage Jewels is the result of a lifelong love of vintage jewelry. I hope that you will enjoy this RUclips channel and visit my shop on Ruby Lane @ www.rubylane.com/shop/chapel-hill-vintage-jewels, where I offer a curated collection of antique and vintage costume and fine jewelry.
On this channel, we’ll talk all about vintage jewelry. My videos will cover how to identify different designers and manufacturers, types of stones and materials and cover certain categories of collectible jewelry. I am also going to share some of the museum exhibits and antique markets from my International travels. I hope that this will be fun and educational.
I am an active member of the Costume Jewelry Collectors International and the American Society of Jewelry Historians. I hold a Masters Degree from Northwestern University.

Fabulous video! Great information and jaw-dropping jewelry! It's always exciting to see you've released a new video. Thank you so much!
Wonderful video! ❤
This was such an enjoyable and informative video. Thank you for sharing your knowledge.
So glad you posted a new video!!! I always learn so much from you even though I have been a collector myself for 40 years! Thanks 😊
Kindred spirits! Thanks for your kind words.
Great information ! Thank you
Thank you for the informative video! I get very excited when I see you have a new post and I rewatch your old ones, using them as reference.
You are welcome, thank you for watching!
Thank you for this new video! ❤
You are welcome!
Exquisite! You have some beautiful pieces, Julie. I love Christian Dior. I have a few of his jewelry pieces, but more so I have several vintage bags from the 60s and 70s which I use regularly. I’m actually using some bags as small carry on luggage today as I travel. They are amazing and very durable. Thank you for the video! I’m going to look for the book. The book (which I found one) is around $750.00.
I had heard the book was expensive but $750 is crazy.
I would like a copy please.

Just discovered your videos! Thank you for sharing your knowledge!❤❤
My pleasure, spread the word. I am working on a new one as we speak...coming soon, Dior and Grosse!
I'm a man that Loves costume jewelry! I found two pairs of ciner clip on earrings my mother was parting with. Found it odd, an earring has a pat 156452 inside on clasps, logo name outside on clasp. OMG! Pat's glass pearl double broach is beautiful. To see Mrs Pat's jewelry what she parted with or donated, what was given away is intriguing. It's almost the costume jewelry version of Elizabeth Taylor. Reading everything on her right now..😍thk you!😘💕
The patent number is for the clip mechanism, not the design of the earrings. Pat's necklace is my favorite thing in my collection! I loved your comments, thank you! Today, I am working on a new video on Dior and Grosse jewelry. Make sure you follow me so you can see when it posts.
I had a lovely "conversation" with a self proclaimed expert of all things jewelry about a week ago.... She insisted that Juliana DOES NOT EXIST outside of the show room pieces D&E did for 2 years. I tried to get her to watch videos and actually do a bit of research but nope, google told her that D&E only did Juliana for 2 years so she was concreted in that idea. I agreed that yes, they did so showroom pieces for 2 years but they had the "Juliana Originals" that they put out for many years as well as having other lines like "Gloria" I learned me a little lesson from HER actually... You simply cant talk to a rock and expect it to talk back intelligibly 🤦🏽♀️ 😅 I know this video is old and no one will see my little story but it sure does feel good letting it out 😂 As Lucy from the Peanuts cartoons would say "WHAT A BLOCK HEAD" 🤣
Do you sell these ?
Julie, I love your video about Trifari! My father, Lucius Passavanti, was a staff designer, along with Jean Paris, under Phillipe. Every night he can home from work with stories. I also have a photo of my dad with Jean paris which landed on the cover of American Jewelry Manufacturer in the 60s.
I have a 1341 bracelet for sale if any collectors desire such a beauty. Great price! 200$
Thank you for your clear presentation, it's interesting learning what the most desired pieces and designers are!!
I admire your bravery using the RUclips platform, because besides the obvious public speaking fears, it seems to become an all consuming : overwhelming feat to take on. And yet you take time to comment on the resolve to keep life + family a higher priority so thank you for that, as well as this well done education/presentations.
Enamel itself is fascinating , I thought is was regular paint until recently! Thank you for these
GOOD to see you again!! YEAH!! I love your very clear and knowledgable videos on Vintage Jewelry. Please keep on making them. We love you! ❤
Very sweet, thanks! I am working on the next one.
Thank you, for sharing your experience and knowledge.😊
You are very welcome. I enjoy sharing and I am planning my next video!
What are the baby teeth made out of what kind of stone? Is it a pearl?
They look like small pearls in the shape of baby teeth, Could be lacquered glass, I never cut up one to find out. Thanks for watching.
Thank you for the information! Are the pieces that are from the lower line (plastic) still valuable for re-sale?
I'm sorry for not getting back to you sooner. Your email got buried. Yes, the lower line still has value, but much less. It is marked Schiaparelli. I have seen some very poor-quality bead pieces that I would price well under $50.
I LOVE your Videos! Years later I remembered you! Thank you so much for such a VERY CLEAR & PROFESSIONAL Video!! All of yours!
That is very kind of you, thank you very much. I have gotten a couple of nasty messages lately, and yours erases them all. Julie
How do you date your Ciner piece? I have a turquoise enamel bangle signed CINER and would love to know how old it is but can’t find any info.
I address this in the video. 2nd thing to know about Ciner...Since the company used some of the same marks during different time periods, it is almost impossible to use them for dating purposes.
Still no help, thanks
Can't see
Yes those different names of the country are quite confusing. Some of them seem to be English, the ones starting with T German. I think the naming was conditioned by the market where the items were exported. Even currently two names of the country are used - Czech Republic and more recent and shorter Czechia. BTW the north of the country is also known for handmade and handpainted Christmas decorations made of glass which are also worth checking out. ❤
Great information, thank you. The Christmas ornaments were beautiful, I should have bought more!
Wonderful info ~ Thank you! As you may already know, the site you've mentioned for reference is no longer online. Sounds like it was a great resource though.
That just happened. I was just on it last week. Let's give it awhile! Thank you!!!!
Not believable at all.....always look at the camera when presenting. Really bad 👎👎👎👎👎
Fun🎉 I have some Kramer pieces from my Grandmother
Is jappaned a type of metal finish? Have never heard that term. Just curious! ❤ your videos. Been binge watching them all!
Yes, it is a dark metal finish. Several design companies, like Florenza, have used it. Sometimes, it almost looks like pewter, and sometimes, it is much darker. Thanks for watching!
I thoroughly enjoyed your video on Ciner. Thank you for posting all the videos you do to help educate me and everyone who loves jewelry.
My pleasure, glad you enjoy them. Time for another, soon!!
I have a broken Carol Dauplaise earring. The metal ring connecting two pieces of this particular design broke. Can metal used in costume jewelry be fixed? They are my favorite and I’m sad I can’t wear them.
Depends on the metal but may be able to be resoldered. I don't know how to do that.
I’m so happy to see you and this new video!
I loved this vdeo. I am just getting started and it is so informative. Thank you!
Excellent video
❤❤❤❤
Very informative thank you
🤗Hello🤗, Fellow newbie antique and vintage jewelry reseller also. I live near Raleigh 💙💙. TYSM for all of the information. As I said, I am new to collecting and reselling vintage jewelry (I typically collect and resell vintage purses, shoes, China, glassware, etc) and your channel is very helpful. I appreciate all of the hard work you put into your jewelry and then in turn, teach us.😃
Glad you find them useful. After 35 years of collecting and studying, I thought I would pass on some knowledge! I most enjoy hearing the comments so thank you!

Enjoyed the video. I have a lovely Juliana Bracelet and earrings and wonder if they made a necklace of the same motif. Do you know if and how I can search for it? If not, do you know how I can convert the bracelet to a necklace?
I’m new to this channel and I’m so thankful for people such as yourself that share their knowledge with all of us. Thank you so much!❤
You are very welcome. Many have shared their knowledge with me. Pay it forward.
