these old fellas would not know me from a bar of soap .; these are the old legends that i followed silently night after night on the old hume learning my craft , the road and cutting my teeth, u felt you knew what was going on and felt safer with them out front. when cb came out listening to these old timers became crucial. everything worked back then . party hour is hard to explain but these are the daddy's of party hour , the best thing ive experianced in my life . a lot of the names escape me now , but every now and then I pull up at The Wall and take a look . its not too long when the names flood back .
Long nights goin hard and having fun hasn't effected these blokes one bit. Long live the pioneers of happy hour. Thank you gentleman for being part of my education. Off skyline and launch it.
Double K what a legend, miss the nights of commentary and fun travelling the highways with Kerry and the other overnight boys made a hard days night enjoyable, especially during the floods going across to Adelaide from Melbourne, when he was driving for Kwikasair, had me in stitches all night.Shut the gates Kerry !
This is great stuff. The unmistakeable voice of KK, a true legend. I could listen to these blokes for hours, some of the stories they could tell. Thanks for posting this clip, RTIA. Cheers
I could listen to ol' KK for hours & some nights on the Hume back in late 80's - mid 90's I bloody well did, couldn't get a word in edge ways on the Charlie Baker. Good stuff RTIA
Not long bought an old ex ansett 1969 K125 8v71, deep reduction, torsion bar rear end original fleet number 435, would love to hear from some original drivers
I was a local subbie at Kwikasair when KK Vinnie Simpson Geno were some of our line haul operators So good to hear KK No one tells trucking like him And KK I am still there Nearly 48 years Brian McMahon
Also Kerry whatever happened to Berrima Bob? He was a regular Subbie at Kwikasair Express Melbourne /Sydney, he always used to bag me up in the Cullerines when I was working at Eastoes.!!!!!????
Remember KK when he was doing change overs at Nhill. I was doing the paper run to Adelaide and would hear Kerry on the baker around Buangor, if you missed hearing him he would light you up, if you heard him you would light him up and you could hear him squeal for minutes. Ho ho .. take care old fella..
