PETERBILT 379 - BEST SOUNDING TRUCK ON YOUTUBE 😎

- I'm not necessarily saying that MY Peterbilt 379 is the best sounding truck on RUclips, but you can't really beat the sound of a Cat unleashing it's fury tucked under the hood of a 379 ;) Prove me wrong! (Seriously, if you know of any awesome sounding trucks on RUclips put the link in the comments below! I want to see what's out there!)
This is a short trip through some twisty roads in Northern Michigan. Fully loaded with lumber.
2006 Peterbilt 379
CAT C15 650hp
Fully Loaded (140'000lbs) B-Trains - Авто/Мото
Only those that understand whats going on get this mans driving.... He drives with such care and non use of force in his driving habits.... This truck will last a million miles under his great care and skill.... He never "slams" this truck but rather gently goes through the gears and lets the engine work its way without force or coercion.....
Yeah. He ain’t the only one. I have two trucks that have well over a million miles each. You can do it if you have some common sense and care
I drive like this. Wish my 379 was still road worthy. The last driver beat the ever loving crap out of that poor truck. She still runs and drives, but the frame is pooched.
Edit: But she’s got a super 10, not a 13.
I was back in the cab with my father looking at this, rest his soul. He drove like you, easy on the truck he lived for it, and loved truck driving. He started in the 60s and passed in 91. He had an old S2 kenworth with a 903, I started choking up at the sound of the jake. Thanks buddy, for the memory.
After watching some tight turns, polishing, hill climbs and backing up B-Trains you seem to me one of the most pleasant truck drivers on RUclips.
Thanks friend 👍
@@callthemall Bro, I drive my Peterbilt 379 the same way you do. I really like using the Jake Brake. 😎
@@callthemall Great Driver. Salutes From Brazil 👍
I agree
I love this truck... 379s are by far the best trucks ever built. 💪🏻
This young man can drive !
He was born to be a trucker !
Forget what you know about driving. THIS is driving ! It’s watching a craftsman at work.
Oh yeah, put him stop start traffic, fully loaded in a B-train tanker with morons chopping in front and brake checking because you honk them and the lovely artform of shifting will be less art and and more average I'm thinking.
@ThePaulv12 why are you mad at him or do you know him personally trucking shut up
id cover the cost for a lot lizard to give his Johnson a tune up
Man that whistling sound never gets old.
You know that sound isnt good right ?
As an european i always loved American cars, trucks.. they're so beautiful and sound so good
Their horrible in quality tho
@@GT-Tezzy yeah absolutely terrible. The trucks only last like 1-3 million miles. That definitely horrible build quality
I Like american truck too but you can Not compare the quality of a Scania and Peterbilt 😊
@@yoost6317 I don't know much about trucks i'm just an auto mechanic it's just that i like them 😅
Gearstick is like stirring soup lol and analogue gauges?
I like how smooth you are with those gears ⚙️ brother! Top notch shifting.
Man this is so calming how could anyone dislike it?
When you drive these yourself it’s even better
Maybe someone who drives a Plymouth Valiant?...
maybe because someone was upset its not long enough? 🤷♂️
As someone who drives a straight piped Detroit it’s fun every now and then but find yourself using the low setting on Jake 90% of the time 😂
@@christianherbst674
Or Swift.
If you knew age truck drivers are watching this pay attention close this is a new age DRIVER that was taught by old school. He knows exactly what he’s doing. Oh and by the way, did you notice he turned his CB on before he got out on the highway. Listen look and learn new age drivers. This guy is damn good I know I just retired after 48 years on the road kudos to you young man keep it up.
Does it piss you off that most are automatic nowadays jw?
@@KevinMcAllister-666 yes it does. I cannot stand the automatics.
@@leewalker3514 the boomer mentality such an ignorant mentality.
@@leewalker3514 I get it innovation, progress and change is scary to your type.
@@KevinMcAllister-666 I’m not scared of it. I just wanna select my own gears and not wait on the computer that is known to give trouble. That’s just what I’m saying.
When I clicked on the video I was hoping it was going to be a C15 haha love the truck man and good driving.
Made my day and brought back some good memories with my dad, He is 82 now and has been an owner operator long haul truck driver since he was 17, PETERBILT FOR LIFE 👊
The sound of the turbo and the Jake brake is fantastic, what a nice place to be 😎😎
Cat and Cummins have amazing sounding Jake brakes but DD 2-strokes you can't go wrong with that sound a 2-stroke gives Is just amazing!
I literally have the same truck. My Peterbilt is orange though. She has the same Cat C 15 diesel engine. My wife Christina and her girlfriends love the sound of the engine, even though they aren't really truck fans. There into makeup and things like that. Every once in a while, I take my wife and some of her girlfriends for a ride in my big truck. They absolutely love it.
And then you wake up?
It's been about 3 years since I last drove a truck, and this is making me want to get back behind the wheel so much.
I pulled B-trains in Manitoba with a 550hp C15 Pete 379 and loved every minute of it. Your shifting is glorious, and should be really proud of being such a smooth operator. Not many left in this world like us.
Keep on trucking mate.
I just parked mine for a well needed brake after dealing with months of idiots on the road. You can come jump in mine for a few days if you want. It’s sitting out back. Guarantee after a day you will be reminded of all the bullshit and you will say f… this 😂
Double clutch?
Wonderful driving footage! The truck sounds great! This is the kind of video I enjoy. Thank you.
I love this! You are really in tune with the machine, that's obvious, and the drive has a hypnotic effect, really smooth. I used to drive Caterpillar tractors on my grandfather's ranch when I was kid, I really miss it. What a sound.
That new mic you got is so amazing at picking up that Kitty going Through the rpms. No doubt this is the best sounding truck on RUclips 🤟🏻. Love the videos as always, keep on trucking bud 🇺🇸/🇨🇦.
Thank you that was a sweet ride. True drive right there. That brought back alot of memories for me. I drove for 28 years and love every minute of it. Had a 1998 Freightliner Classic with 6 inch straight pipes. Miss the sound of that old girl everyday. Thank you once again for that nice smooth ride. Keep the shinny side up brother
Sweet truck,
beautiful sounding engine
You sir, are a professional!
Totally brings back great memories of my long hood 379 and my earlier long hood 359 - 13 speeds! Great share! I will always love those big motor sounds - and of course a bad ass loud Jake Brake!
That truck does sound really good. Sounds like power and work.
I discovered your channel 2 days ago and I think it's great that you give such an up close look into a frontnosed American truck. I have been a trucker myself in Europe, where almost all of us drive cabover trucks. I enjoy you Pete 379. Safe travels and keep making such beautiful streams.
Brings back memories of my dad back in the 70's. Like your dashboard.
I would love to see more B-train videos if you're ever in a spot for that sort of thing. Keep up the hard work.
Yep got a few in the works!
this is the stuff I enjoy!! Beautiful sounding truck! 😄😁
been through the Santa Cruz mountains in a truck with a cat motor, thanks Mike, I'll never forget it.
Das beste Video seit langer langer Zeit das ich auf YT gesehen habe. Danke für diesen "Hochgenuss" des sehens und des hörens! 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻🙂
Love watching this video. You sir are doing well and are so calm and easy going . Keep up the good work and you sir should be paid more than you get for taking care of your truck . May our Lord always be with you always drive safely. And May you always find low fuel prices wherever you have to go.
You can tell this guy loves being behind that wheel.
Beautiful execution of hiw to. You are a true professional. I started driving truck in 1979. Drove trucks with Detroit's and 2 sticks, and Cummins with 2 sticks , also 10 speeds and 13 speeds. Each truck has its own personality. Once you develop a relationship with that truck there is nothing like it. It becomes your best friend. Just you and that truck going down the road. Pure Bliss.
Such a pleasure to watch!!
Seeing all those meters makes me want to be a truck driver (of a Peterbilt of course)
Hope I can see one of those if I go to America someday!!
Great video!! :)
Cheers from Brazil!!
I cant stand the pete clutch. Let alot this idiots tall boy shifter.
Thanks 4 the ride mate, awesone dwnshifting, love the jacobs sound. Regards from Chile
🇨🇦🇨🇦🇨🇦 thank you I really enjoy your videos it’s like being in the truck with you thank you for sharing this 🇨🇦🇨🇦🇨🇦
I love a cat growl. I would also add to the list the Mack E9 Super Dog engine! I have a b model cat in my Pete and love it. My W9 has 7's on it with a 12.7 detroit running a borg 171702 and a full tilt manifold. It peaks around 50 psi on a full pull
I wish I was still driving a scania 164L 580 v8, I would've proven you wrong, you just can't beat the sound of a 16.4 litre V8 rumbling, but I guess for north American trucks, you can't beat the sound of a CAT, I love the deep and low rumble, greetings from the Netherlands
Couldn't agree more, norhing beats a Scania V8
Huffin paint bub nothing beats the sound of a big cam Cummins
scania's not that powerful
the Americans are still superior
Great sounding truck, i agree. 👍 Thanks for the video.
I absolutely love hearing the sounds of these babies on the freeway.
It runs on propane and propane accessories 😎
Sounds very cool annnnd driven by one of the coolest truckers on the road! 🤘
Awesome video, Thank you for sharing
Love the ivory wheel and stick. Buttery smooth and relaxing. Thanks for sharing! Pro.
Sweet sounding Cat just listening to it is soooo relaxing
I like how he can show off without even showing off, Nothing to prove, Well done my friend 🤘😎
Sounds so good. I’ve been following you for awhile. Love all of your videos.
TOOT TOOT
Definitely a beautiful sounding truck. Quite soothing actually!
Peter sure builds nice trucks!
It’s like taming a monster. It’s a hell of a feeling. I’ve been around them from the age of 5. Swinging between the cab and sleeper like a jungle gym , going cool places and pissing in coffee cans . Haha
Love the attitude bro and the truck fantastic sound I had an eargasum 😂
That's pure music to my ears 👍👍
I can't wait to learn how to drive a Manual Semi Truck. I'm going for my CDL in mid December after I have studied the official book on everything. I just got my Air Brakes License July 25th now I'm studying for the knowledge test and then I can start enrolling into a Trucking school, and then do my Driver's test.
How did you go?
Like how you took it easy through town, there's a time and a place for everything.
Awesome video.
Truck sounds amazing 👌
That ride put me in such a good mood...just brought back some good memories...no I don’t drag feathers and chicken juice behind me anymore but just can’t stay away from it. Nice ride brother.
Nice drive!! congrats!! Have a good trip..... always!
Something oddly satisfying about watching you drive and looking forward! Maybe because I drove a large car ---in my other life, lol. Be cool, Be safe!
Yes ! The best sound in RUclips because we don't hear the wind 👍
I love it !!
This Truck Sounds like Freedom❤
that jake brake... im in love
If not the best, ONE of THE BEST for sure! Love to see you operate that machine and that sound!

"Kingfish"
Love this💖💖
Truck on, brother. Nice to see your new video 🇨🇦
Fact about 30 years ago my first born son would not could not go to sleep without I carry him into the cab & start that Engine, in 3 minutes he would be sleeping like the little guy he was, then tote him back & into his bed. for those that might wounder, I made sure he was sleeping good before I took him back in.. There is nothing more soothing to me than hearing a good Diesel run.
That Ole peterbuilt sound sò good smooth driver shifting gear he takes care of his truck for sure great. Driving that peterbuilt thanks for respecting your machine
Best sounding yeah it's up there with the best of them 👍 amazing wish Scottish trucks sounded like this
Your CAT sounds lovely. As a Volvo driver, it pains me to say it but, I like the sound of Scania V8.
I love them a cat sounds swweeet but lm a fan of the old school Gardner and the gowling leyland 680. Oh yes and the detroits esp the screaming !!!
Oh yes a big fan of that V8 too.
@@cidertom5140Father has an old Leyland tractor from around 1976. Brittish stuff from that time knew how to last & run well. Also a lawnmover with Briggs & Stratton engine that runs like a d*rn Rolls Royce! 😂 Swedish myself though & got a 22 year old Volvo V70 still runnin in family. (Under chassis galvanized, so should see no rust.)
@@tredfxman yes the briggs is too in my opinion. My parents had a Volvo too with the 2.4 5 Cyl diesel and it sounded aewesome. Those Leyland tractors are built like b s h. Great tractors.

How many clocks Driver?
What an absolutely awesome driving video
Watching all the way from South Africa. Beautiful sounding and driving
Much love bro, i seriously enjoyed it, thanks to youtube recommendations , and hats off to you. SUBSCRIBED, consider me your loyal viewer from now on.
I'm just catching up to your videos. dude, besides my dad, brother and myself you are the best driver out there. I see all the confidence in you. Well, to be honest I was an okay driver but I wasn't 100% confident like my dad and brother are and y'all three drive alike. No GPS and just know where you're going lol. My dad died about 13 years ago and I swear, I was watching Thelma and Louise and my damn dad shows up in that movie! He was exactly like the tanker driver. I'm shocked I got an ajucation. Anyway, back to the point. I'm listening to this video with 5.1, 7.1 and headphones. If i lay on my couch and shut my eyes I fall asleep it's like I'm back in a truck again. Oh, I'm disabled/retired now. Anyway, keep up the good work and maybe someday get you one of them drones to scan areas and they make some cool photos. Some dude named High Strung does those types of photos and they are cool. But hey, stay safe out there and Thank You fort all your hard work.
Your Truck sounds like the Peterbilt from Duel😎
love the vids!
Love it man. Stay safe big bro 🫡
Great video. Loved it.
Smooth shifting, smooth acceleration love to see it
I get to drive a Kenworth T408 SAR in Australia. It's got a 625 Cat Acert in it, sport mufflers. Yours sounds amazing.
That is a seriously strong jake ya got there; sounds awesome, too!!!
I love your wild CAT lol. Be safe on the road!
