Just received my new CRX 750cc engine and it feels good knowing it not junk, actually makes me feel better about buying it after knowing it’s produced in the states now I’m not using for a pressure washer application but that doesn’t matter
There's definitely a big movement to nearshore manufacturing now. Also FNA had to build something worth putting in their machines and attaching their names to. Your CRX engine should definitely do the job!
My PW with a Honda GCV 160 engine has lost compression with less than 190 hours of use. Repair will cost $250-$300 and it cost me $45 to find that out! Now looking at CRX.
The CRX is clearly based off of the GX design, at least in the single cylinder but it's not just CRX engines, Briggs and Stratton with its CR and XR engines, Kohler Command Pro single cylinder, Champion engines, LCT and PowerMore (MTD family) engines are all based off of Honda's GX design. Honda designed the engines, everyone else just used Honda's expired patents and made their own.
Times have changed and now there’s others building extremely good and last as long as Honda I think that’s why Honda is backing up The GX series is the best Honda ever made and still are great but the colon are just as good now
The formula for a good lasting engine has been figured out, and having more stateside production allows for reduced logistical issues, and hopefully competition that spurs more development.
