UPDATE:1 year and still cranks within the first 2-3 pulls. Probably will buy another when this one finally does bite the dust ruclips.net/user/postUgkx43QMbQqu67IZadu9ou8Sg1BdrunMRNqX . No issues at all. Very happy with it.UPDATE: After 6 months of use and over 70 uses I would still highly recommend this pressure washer. It does vibrate a decent amount but never had it “walk” like others have mentioned. No oil leaks, still seems to run like the day I bought it. Still cranks within 2-3 pulls every time. Very happy with my purchase!Have used it about a dozen times now. Plenty of power, cranks up on 1-2 pulls every time. My only complaint would be I wish it was a little taller to make it easier to walk with it (hits my ankles a lot) and that the two hose connections were a little further apart but it hasn’t caused me any issues. Seems to run a good 1-1/2-2 hrs on a full tank, overall a well built machine and definitely worth the money in my opinion.

Justin, to your question about the choke, you definitely want to adjust it. Usually Full choke to start it up, then choke completely OFF once it gets going and you're powerwashing. By running it half choke, you're running it rich (extra fuel) and these carbs are tuned to give you a stoichiometric mix when the choke is off. Choke off keeps carbon buildup at a minimum and burns less gas while giving more power. Great video thanks for sharing!

Very good review. I bought this same unit in 1997 and it just laid down on me this year. I'll never own one that doesn't have a honda motor. We had a Simpson at work and that's why I went with it to begin with. It was belt driven and quite a bit more expensive. These are great units and I'm going to Lowe's for my next one. Thanks again.

I just purchased a Simpson 4400PSI/4GPM and brand new out the box it has a bad unloader. It stays in constant high pressure mode and activates pop off valve immediately.
I replaced the AAA pump with a Honda AR pump 4400/4gpm and it works fantastic now. Didn’t have time to wait 2 months for the repair shop to fix it.

Jetstream Power Wash ~They were telling me it’s part of the pump. I didn’t and could t wait to find out I got another bad apple.
The Honda AR pump has all individual parts. Each part is quick to change saving down time. Overall just a much better pump. I might replace the unloaded on the other one and keep for a back up plan.

I had a Simpson for year's it always started right up the pump died and it was 10 year's old, i just got a mi-t-m at Sherwin Williams 4000 psi 3.5 gallon per minute cold water direct driven i like it because it's on an aluminum frame it's about the same size as the Simpson but it lighter my Simpson was a tank also the Simpson was 2 grand the mi-t-m cost about $900 Sherwin Williams had a Contractor sale they gave me a drill set too
If anyone is thinking of pressure washing full time get a commercial grade washer they're worth it in the long run the cheap ones are unreliable but do the best you can with whatever budget you have i mostly paint but i like to have decent equipment and i always wash a house before painting

For the everyday home owner it would be a great tool to have but if you are running every day you need to spend $1700 an get a belt drive stay away from AAA pumps get a CAT or GP 4gpm or higher best on the market an what you said about the Honda engines is fact they will outlast any other if maintenance is kept up.

@@Jimmy_Cavallo he's saying that because pumps can be replaced or upgraded. One's pre-installed, like mine, will eventually fail and the only thing I can do is replace the whole machine. That is 600 dollars, whereas a pump will cost you 70 if you go to northern tool. I will eventually buy a pump and downstream. I am still saving to buy a 4.5 gpm machine.

Please consider using Bestline oil additive, 1-2 ounces per quart(about $1.50 per ounce) on small Honda engines.I have used it with great success for years. I believe it had extended the engine life and lowers running temperatures. I have seen many years of life out of my Honda engines with this and pure synthetic oil. Cheap insurance for an expensive engine. I use only the best oils. (Mobil 1, Pennzoil Platinum, Amzoil, which ever one is on sale and change it often (around 25 hours) Ron A

If you need to build yourself up and are using a smaller machine you can still get alot of the amenities that come with larger units and transfer them to the bigger unit if you get one. Quick connect kits for converting the m22 fittings so you can use quick connect pro hoses. Quick connect kits $30 at lowes. Get yourself a 4kpsi 100ft semi pro hose from pressure tek for $120. They also sale the jrod tips for around $50,and ball valves, and downstream injectors at real affordable prices too. Combine that with a lightweight zero g garden hose and you've got a real decent setup that's transferable if and when you upgrade. With a 2.5gpm unit itll take you longer than if you had a 4gpm unit, but itll still.make plenty of money. All the accessories I mentioned will help make your work easier and faster so you can get home to play with the kids or on to the next job.

Choke is *only* for start up, once the engine has started and/or is up to operating temperature it should *always* be turned all the way off. You should never run an engine (any engine) for extended periods of time with the choke on. You will cause the engine to run richer than it should which leads to excessive gas usage and carbon deposit buildup inside the cylinder/exhaust.
It will also rob your horsepower!

I HATED, and I mean that sincerely, the hose and nozzle that came with it. The hose was WAY too stiff and the nozzle was so-so. I don't know if Simpson sourced theirs better, but I would encourage anyone to buy a better hose and spray gun anyway. The Flexilla hose is a good one. I think Amazon sells them now. They also have a good spray gun that is a knock-off of Italian models. It works pretty well.

But I only use my pressure washer every few months, so I don't need the best pump out there.

The best pressure washer you can buy for the same money is one with a Honda engine and a CAT pump which is precision machined water pump not the cast aluminum style pumps like on this unit, as they wear out much quicker. I have owned one for years with no problems for personal use but commercially rated. I would highly suggest making it your next purchase it wont disappoint you.

That's a nice PW but for an extra $100 you can buy a Northern Tools PW that has the same engine but it also comes with a CAT pump which is far superior to the pump that comes with the Simpson unit.

    • @AFPECE
      @AFPECE 5 лет назад

Ozzie Alarcon, agreed. Pressure Pro makes a ton of PWs that have better pumps, proper tips (usually orifice size is too small on "store" bought models) and the same awesome Honda engines for just a few more bucks.

GREAT job, working hard and making money. Just a thought if you hurt your back or pull something you won't be making any money brother. Buy a cheap winch from Harbor Freight and bolt it down somewhere you can live with in your van, buy or make some cheap ramps and lower it out of and load into your van that way. My won't need a serious winch or ramps but the weight of that unit is enough if you lift it wrong to cause some serious damage, you are your business. I'm positive you could build it quickly for under $150. Right now HF has a Badland 2500lb ATV winch for $54.99 with digital coupon, so really for well under $100 you could build this setup.

First of all thank you for all your videos and knowledge of how to navigate this genre of business. I am brand new to the business and started with an electric unit then shifted quickly to gas after about three jobs. I went with a Dewalt 3100psi 2.3 gpm unit from Home Depot. I like the Simpson a lot as well due to the Honda motor and the price. There is about a hundred dollar difference buying at home depot. Do you think it's a good thing to buy in store as opposed to buying online, when it comes to these units, due to service needs down the road, both units having Honda engines?

  • @Smellslikegelfling

I’ve boiled my options down to a Dewalt 3600 2.5 ($599) or a SIMPSON 3800 3.5. ($799). Goal would be to utilize a surface cleaner effectively.
