@@ForeverSelfEmployed thanks alot bro you're the man lol, do you have a snapchat that you use for these jobs as well that ppl could add you on ? I dont have Instagram or facebook is why I'm asking and it seems like some of these jobs I've seen you do would make cool little videos .
Justin, to your question about the choke, you definitely want to adjust it. Usually Full choke to start it up, then choke completely OFF once it gets going and you're powerwashing. By running it half choke, you're running it rich (extra fuel) and these carbs are tuned to give you a stoichiometric mix when the choke is off. Choke off keeps carbon buildup at a minimum and burns less gas while giving more power. Great video thanks for sharing!
Forever Self Employed I also know these engines well and yes, make sure the choke is completely OFF once the engine is running. If it’s not then you will start to have problems very quickly.
UPDATE:1 year and still cranks within the first 2-3 pulls. Probably will buy another when this one finally does bite the dust ruclips.net/user/postUgkx43QMbQqu67IZadu9ou8Sg1BdrunMRNqX . No issues at all. Very happy with it.UPDATE: After 6 months of use and over 70 uses I would still highly recommend this pressure washer. It does vibrate a decent amount but never had it “walk” like others have mentioned. No oil leaks, still seems to run like the day I bought it. Still cranks within 2-3 pulls every time. Very happy with my purchase!Have used it about a dozen times now. Plenty of power, cranks up on 1-2 pulls every time. My only complaint would be I wish it was a little taller to make it easier to walk with it (hits my ankles a lot) and that the two hose connections were a little further apart but it hasn’t caused me any issues. Seems to run a good 1-1/2-2 hrs on a full tank, overall a well built machine and definitely worth the money in my opinion.
Very good review. I bought this same unit in 1997 and it just laid down on me this year. I'll never own one that doesn't have a honda motor. We had a Simpson at work and that's why I went with it to begin with. It was belt driven and quite a bit more expensive. These are great units and I'm going to Lowe's for my next one. Thanks again.
I just purchased a Simpson 4400PSI/4GPM and brand new out the box it has a bad unloader. It stays in constant high pressure mode and activates pop off valve immediately. I replaced the AAA pump with a Honda AR pump 4400/4gpm and it works fantastic now. Didn’t have time to wait 2 months for the repair shop to fix it.
Jetstream Power Wash ~They were telling me it’s part of the pump. I didn’t and could t wait to find out I got another bad apple. The Honda AR pump has all individual parts. Each part is quick to change saving down time. Overall just a much better pump. I might replace the unloaded on the other one and keep for a back up plan.
For the everyday home owner it would be a great tool to have but if you are running every day you need to spend $1700 an get a belt drive stay away from AAA pumps get a CAT or GP 4gpm or higher best on the market an what you said about the Honda engines is fact they will outlast any other if maintenance is kept up.
@@Jimmy_Cavallo he's saying that because pumps can be replaced or upgraded. One's pre-installed, like mine, will eventually fail and the only thing I can do is replace the whole machine. That is 600 dollars, whereas a pump will cost you 70 if you go to northern tool. I will eventually buy a pump and downstream. I am still saving to buy a 4.5 gpm machine.
I would recommend airplane fuel. I park my 1987 Electra-Glide every winter with airplane fuel and it starts right up, even with 100,000 miles on it. Use it on my snowblower, weed trimmer, and chainsaws, which are not used very often.

Hey Justin, I saved some money and decided after doing some research to give this a shot. I'm going with a the Simpson Megashot 3200 psi washer, 31 inch extender, surface cleaner to start off. Excited to see where this goes thanks for inspiring others to take a shot at this business, your positive attitude and encouragement has been helpful. Thank you.
To be fair.. for paid pressure washing work, cheapest I would go is around the $899 mark on Amazon for the Simpson 4.2GPM. All about the GPM at a certain point.

No comments pertaining to triplex pumps? Thats what your steppin up to with this unit. AAA are ceramic lined pistons. Cat have full ceramic pistons and are worth the extra cash. Plus you guys running units 5-8 hrs a day 5 days a week should go with the belt driven models with Cat triplex pumps.

I run the same machine and rarely choke it after the first start. I change the oils in the motor and pump regularly and use ethanol free gas. I change the air filter, and spark plug regularly and once a year I set the valves. Mine still runs like the day I bought it and I’ve had to do nothing to it except for the regular maintenance it requires.
Choke is *only* for start up, once the engine has started and/or is up to operating temperature it should *always* be turned all the way off. You should never run an engine (any engine) for extended periods of time with the choke on. You will cause the engine to run richer than it should which leads to excessive gas usage and carbon deposit buildup inside the cylinder/exhaust. It will also rob your horsepower!
Please consider using Bestline oil additive, 1-2 ounces per quart(about $1.50 per ounce) on small Honda engines.I have used it with great success for years. I believe it had extended the engine life and lowers running temperatures. I have seen many years of life out of my Honda engines with this and pure synthetic oil. Cheap insurance for an expensive engine. I use only the best oils. (Mobil 1, Pennzoil Platinum, Amzoil, which ever one is on sale and change it often (around 25 hours) Ron A
I used to have pressure washer about that size. It would suck the hose flat. I replaced the garden valve with a large diameter ball valve and it still sucked the hose flat. If you want a big pressure washer, be carefull of the supply.
Dudeeeeee what the heck. I’m just browsing through some vids in my watch later and I knew something about you seemed relatable. All I had to see was “Hammond Lowe’s” and knew it. Fellow Louisianian! Super cool to see someone on the interwebs that’s local. Keep doing your thing in the 985 (I’m in 225).
Great video as always but your 2 hours of run time could be due to the fact that you said you run the motor on full choke the whole time, I use the same Simpson pump with the Honda 270 and get almost 4.5 hours of run time out mine. Of course usage may vary due to variations in altitude, RPM settings, and water pressure settings. But awesome job though.
Do you wash homes with yours? I just ordered the one you mentioned from Lowe's. I've been using a 2.5 gpm unit, but even with 2nd story tips couldnt quite wash 2 story homes. I'm hoping this new washer will solve that problem. It's a good looking unit with alot of good reviews.
I was looking at another video you said that you were using a backpack sprayer because you didnt have a downstream injector on you pressure washer. That pressure washer has one on it. Its the little barb thing sticking out near the quick connect at the min 2:28 part of the video
I recently upgraded my old Honda powered Billy Goat to a new one and had a similar problem with fuel. I don’t think it was using much more but the tank was half the size, I’d love to know who thought that was a good idea, I’m forever refilling it
I got the 3400 psi honda 200 engine. Its great. Tri pump. It will cut through wood if your not careful. 2.7 gal. I love how it works but pressure washing is fun for 3 4 hours.5hen its a job, god bless you. But it is superb. I only pais 350.00 for it. I knew the manager at TS. Last one. Grabbed it up. Never looked back. Just need the cleaning sprayer. Great unit.
I’m trying to find the black vent plug that replaces the red plug and I can’t locate it. Can you help me locate where it might be? It says it “comes with the pump”.
It's an air cooled engine and it's good to let it idle with no load (ball valve open) to keep pump cool as well before shutting off. This cools down the engine before you shut it fown
I have Simpson 3300. Bought at Tractor Supply. Amazing the price increase in 2yrs on them. Kinda would like to upgrade to a 4000psi 4/gal. Do like the Honda Motors on them
How's the pressure washer holding up looking at pulling the trigger and purchasing one this week. I got you on using the Ethanol free gas, which is hard to come by.
Hey do I just put detergent tube directly in detergent bottle. Says makes 20 gallons but in a 1 gallon jug. And do I need to do anything after runnings detergent through it?
Your great review convinced me to get this Simpson, and following your Amazon link your yellow surface cleaner is a 20". Is this 3.5 GPM enough flow to keep the 20" surface cleaner running well?
Hello. I hope you may know the answer to this but I seem to not know where to find this information at. Here I go lol I started a side gig here in town with my own power washing business. I purchased a 225 Gallon power washer that shoots 4 GPM. I wanted to know if you knew what the ratio solution to water would be? I thought it would tell me when I bought it but guess not :( Thanks for your time!
Lowes has this one and one with a simpson motor at 4gpm that's $50 cheaper. Is it worth the sacrifice in quality for that 1/2gpm more. It actually has a better rating than the Honda motor.
If you had the choice would you have gone with the 4200psi 4.0g/m model instead? Also does the machine you have have enough power to reach high areas such as the 2nd floor exterior walls of a house? I need something that has the power to hit eaves 25-30 feet up.
Get a second story nozzle www.amazon.com/Tool-Daily-Quick-Connect-Pressure-4000PSI/dp/B073TGTZWH/ref=mp_s_a_1_1_sspa?keywords=second+story+nozzle+kit&qid=1559421075&s=gateway&sprefix=second+sto&sr=8-1-spons&psc=1
If you need to build yourself up and are using a smaller machine you can still get alot of the amenities that come with larger units and transfer them to the bigger unit if you get one. Quick connect kits for converting the m22 fittings so you can use quick connect pro hoses. Quick connect kits $30 at lowes. Get yourself a 4kpsi 100ft semi pro hose from pressure tek for $120. They also sale the jrod tips for around $50,and ball valves, and downstream injectors at real affordable prices too. Combine that with a lightweight zero g garden hose and you've got a real decent setup that's transferable if and when you upgrade. With a 2.5gpm unit itll take you longer than if you had a 4gpm unit, but itll still.make plenty of money. All the accessories I mentioned will help make your work easier and faster so you can get home to play with the kids or on to the next job.
I always wish I could have had a commercial powerwasher like yours. For your business, do you have one of those big water tanks with it and how do you charge too?
I heard you mention washing your car with this? How does this not ruin your paint? Is there a better tip to switch to to help prevent the damage or are you just standing back further?
How is the pump? What kind of pump does it have? I’m thinking about purchasing this Simpson to add some pressure washing and surface cleaning services to my lawn an landscaping business.
Question. I just got this same pressure washer. I wanted a 16inch surface cleaner but it says I have to have a 4gpm washer. You think my 3.5 will run a 16 inch surface cleaner ok?
Can I use this with a down stream injector and tank?? I’m tryna start my own business. Also chemicals what kinds of chemicals I know it’s SH but where can I get that and what not.
I just got the same one. Last week it was $100 off and I applied for the credit card and got another $100 off. I got it for $699 I have not used it and it’s killing me!
Truly a deal. If you want to upgrade the pump after a few years of use would also be a smart long term plan. Approximate upgraded pump is 249.00 for the General brand.
Hey man I just purchased a SIMPSON PowerShot 4200 PSI 4 GPM Gas Cold Water Professional Gas Pressure Washer with HONDA GX390 Engine (49-State) with a triple x pump but I heard a cat pump is better and more reliable but I heard a triple x is also good but they are prone to messing up especially the simpsoms ones which is that I got should I be worried ?
That’s a big boy toy right there bro that thing is pretty keep pushing out the videos that’s how we grow bro pushing that 🔥🔥 content one after another love seeing you grind bro makes me grind hard as hell too
That's a nice PW but for an extra $100 you can buy a Northern Tools PW that has the same engine but it also comes with a CAT pump which is far superior to the pump that comes with the Simpson unit.
Ozzie Alarcon, agreed. Pressure Pro makes a ton of PWs that have better pumps, proper tips (usually orifice size is too small on "store" bought models) and the same awesome Honda engines for just a few more bucks.
I JUST BOUGHT A SIMPSON PRESSURE WASHER. BOUGHT IT AT TRACTOR SUPPLY. BEST PRICE GOING ON A PRESSURE WASHER AT THEIR STORES. MINE WAS 232 DOLLARS FOR A 3100 PSI MAXIMUM. EXCELLENT WASHER. EASY START. ROLLS TO BE ABLE TO MOVE IT EASILY. GOOD FLEXIBLE HOSE. STARTS ON FIRST PULL EVERY TIME. DOES NOT USE TONS OF FUEL. SMOOTH RUNNER. 😊
The best pressure washer you can buy for the same money is one with a Honda engine and a CAT pump which is precision machined water pump not the cast aluminum style pumps like on this unit, as they wear out much quicker. I have owned one for years with no problems for personal use but commercially rated. I would highly suggest making it your next purchase it wont disappoint you.
I've got pretty much this same pressure washer, but under the DeWalt brand name I got at Home Depot sometime around 2010. It has the same engine and I believe the same pump. I HATED, and I mean that sincerely, the hose and nozzle that came with it. The hose was WAY too stiff and the nozzle was so-so. I don't know if Simpson sourced theirs better, but I would encourage anyone to buy a better hose and spray gun anyway. The Flexilla hose is a good one. I think Amazon sells them now. They also have a good spray gun that is a knock-off of Italian models. It works pretty well.
Does how stream come out of it and what's the difference much hot or cold pressure washer pronto break? And what about oil put out in and what size is your water tank ?
Had the idea to start a pressure washing business and found your vids! They’re keeping me inspired to get everything set up! Have you done any soft washing or plan to in the future?
They have all kind of good soap for cleaning but definitely keep Clorox on hand for really really tough jobs don't use the cheap bleach. But Joe Max is really good for killing the spores that actually create the mold and mildew. Also if you're in the area where houses have rust stains on them there's a product called capital Rust Aid it works wonderful you use it for strength spray it on wait 5 minutes the rust will be gone. Now it's a little more difficult to get it off of brick and concrete
Hi Justine, great content. I live in California so I can not get this model because of the Honda engine. There is a version SIMPSON Powershot 4400 PSI 4-Gallon-GPM Cold Water Gas Pressure Washer (CARB) Model #PS61232. Would you recommend this one or another one? I see a lot of bad reviews on most pressure washers both Honda and others so it makes it scary to invest in one. Please advise Thank you

That's an unloader valve. Don't use that to adjust pressure. To adjust the pressure go with a higher flow rate nozzle.
why wouldn't you use that?
I've heard that, even though that's what the adjuster/unloader is for, I've heard it can put out more strain on your engine.
No it's not. Even the Simpson factory videos explain that it's designed to alter the pressure

Question: Can I start it without the hose connected?
I was looking at another video you said that you were using a backpack sprayer because you didnt have a downstream injector on you pressure washer. That pressure washer has one on it. Its the little barb thing sticking out near the quick connect at the min 2:28 part of the video
Heavier unit, buy or make a ramp. Good video. I'm expecting delivery of a Simpson unit, 3400, 2.8. I hope it does the job.
Hows your 3400, 2.8 treating you any issues
I recently upgraded my old Honda powered Billy Goat to a new one and had a similar problem with fuel. I don’t think it was using much more but the tank was half the size, I’d love to know who thought that was a good idea, I’m forever refilling it
What about using it for side work on the weekends, say 2-6 hours a weekend?
When you shut your machine off... it's always better to let it sit and idle for about 30 seconds before shutting off.
Why
@@sothickitssickk it's never good to go from wide open to stop.
Do like the Honda Motors on them
Where does the water connects to do you have a tank in your vehicle do you have a connector a water hose
Do you need to start with vhemicals or no?
Your great review convinced me to get this Simpson, and following your Amazon link your yellow surface cleaner is a 20". Is this 3.5 GPM enough flow to keep the 20" surface cleaner running well?
Is it worth it?
All you had to say was Honda GX -YES!
Do u put the oil that the pressure washer comes with in the pump oil spot
What your best electric pressure washer reccomendation? Ryobi?
I’m going with the ryobi 3000psi model as a starter. Cheaper, lighter and the top handle could easily be taken off for a small car to transport.
Lol
Crap
Be humble my guys, ya will probably won’t go far with that mentality.
Hey, do you think I could put this unit in a full sized sedan?
What type of fuel do you use in this? I’m confused because manual says LPG Fuel only (liquified petroleum gas)
If you drain the gas completely out of the carb, you can store it indefinitely.
indefinitely ... where the water pump won't freeze.
If you had the choice would you have gone with the 4200psi 4.0g/m model instead? Also does the machine you have have enough power to reach high areas such as the 2nd floor exterior walls of a house? I need something that has the power to hit eaves 25-30 feet up.
Get a second story nozzle www.amazon.com/Tool-Daily-Quick-Connect-Pressure-4000PSI/dp/B073TGTZWH/ref=mp_s_a_1_1_sspa?keywords=second+story+nozzle+kit&qid=1559421075&s=gateway&sprefix=second+sto&sr=8-1-spons&psc=1
How can I build a bin cleaning pressure washer biz But I’m disabled. Total nerve damage on all left side of body!?
i was wonderong what would happen if you would take the throttle down a bit? maybee it would take less gaz?
All the accessories I mentioned will help make your work easier and faster so you can get home to play with the kids or on to the next job.
how do you not get streaking and lines when you use surface cleaner? I always get lines
Did you add the wheels to surface cleaner? On the link you put it has no wheels??
I always wish I could have had a commercial powerwasher like yours. For your business, do you have one of those big water tanks with it and how do you charge too?
One of my favorite “residential” machines!
For your current pressure-washer, it says that they don’t ship to California.... but then again it’s Amazon.... can I still buy it ?
Honda engine and Mi-T-M pump is the best way to go.
Does this unit come with the downstream injector hose/filter?
Hey man, do you think an 18” rigid surface cleaner would work well on this unit? Thanks for your videos
I was looking into buying one too
Me three!
Wow excellent buy my friend!
what size surface cleaner can you use with this press washer? 14-16 inch? do you have to dial back the psi when doing driveways?
Have you done a maintenance vid on your machine ? Upload plz
Truly a deal. If you want to upgrade the pump after a few years of use would also be a smart long term plan.
Approximate upgraded pump is 249.00 for the General brand.
Is this pressure washer safe for car paint?
Hey man I just purchased a SIMPSON PowerShot 4200 PSI 4 GPM Gas Cold Water Professional Gas Pressure Washer with HONDA GX390 Engine (49-State) with a triple x pump but I heard a cat pump is better and more reliable but I heard a triple x is also good but they are prone to messing up especially the simpsoms ones which is that I got should I be worried ?
Looking at this model for home use and wanted more gpm. Question if I want to install a pressure guage and a downstream injector how is that done?
That’s a big boy toy right there bro that thing is pretty keep pushing out the videos that’s how we grow bro pushing that 🔥🔥 content one after another love seeing you grind bro makes me grind hard as hell too
Does this pressure washer have a built in downstream injector for chemicals?
That's a nice PW but for an extra $100 you can buy a Northern Tools PW that has the same engine but it also comes with a CAT pump which is far superior to the pump that comes with the Simpson unit.
Ozzie Alarcon, agreed. Pressure Pro makes a ton of PWs that have better pumps, proper tips (usually orifice size is too small on "store" bought models) and the same awesome Honda engines for just a few more bucks.
Simpson does offer units with Cat pumps. They cost more for obvious reasons.
I agree My AAA Pump failed after 4-5 washes. Seals not under warranty. I replaced with a CAT Pump, no regrets.
With a 4gpm can I use the home owners Water... or is it too much
Just wondering if you still have this pressure washer? Have you had any problems or breakages ? Thank you
If you get a hot water/ steam pressure washer, can you use cold water to by a switch or something?
Thanks for sharing your list of products you use... it's much easier making a purchase from a trusted review!
I just bought the 3400 psi Honda engine gx 200 with the cat pump, on aluminum frame very excited and happy with it so far
Also you need a turbo tip. The tornado
Does how stream come out of it and what's the difference much hot or cold pressure washer pronto break? And what about oil put out in and what size is your water tank ?
Does this unit have low oil shutdown like the other Honda GX270 engines that are not on Lowe's exclusive units?
What size surface cleaner for that?
Had the idea to start a pressure washing business and found your vids! They’re keeping me inspired to get everything set up! Have you done any soft washing or plan to in the future?
How did everything work out ? I’m starting my business as well as we speak
Question,
Have you ever had to use a soap or solvent to tackle harder jobs and if you have which one can you recommend?
They have all kind of good soap for cleaning but definitely keep Clorox on hand for really really tough jobs don't use the cheap bleach. But Joe Max is really good for killing the spores that actually create the mold and mildew. Also if you're in the area where houses have rust stains on them there's a product called capital Rust Aid it works wonderful you use it for strength spray it on wait 5 minutes the rust will be gone. Now it's a little more difficult to get it off of brick and concrete
Hi Justine, great content. I live in California so I can not get this model because of the Honda engine. There is a version SIMPSON
Powershot 4400 PSI 4-Gallon-GPM Cold Water Gas Pressure Washer (CARB)
Model #PS61232. Would you recommend this one or another one? I see a lot of bad reviews on most pressure washers both Honda and others so it makes it scary to invest in one. Please advise Thank you
Have belt drive with Honda engine and cat pump, mainly home use some commercial 30 years still kickin, only changed engine oil.
