Lmaooo the detangling dance!! Ugh I need to hang out with you!! It's hard to find girls that are sophisti-ratchet, care about health & hair, & have a laid back style! I'm always either too "conscious" or too "goofy" for most people to digest lol

    Hello,
Your video is awesome. After the first time I watched it, I finger detangle let's say 50% of my hair and used my seamless comb for the other 50%. Following shampoo session I finger detangled 96% of my hair and used the comb just to be sure no knot, tangles, or shed hairs were left. During the detangling process I got like only 2 tangled zones which I had to take time to detangle. So 1000 thanks to you !
This video has revolutionized my hair journey !

I had never heard or thought of using only fingers to detangle hair before I started watching your videos, but now that's all I use! I haven't touched a comb in ages. I love finger detangling so much more than using a tool. I feel that it allows me to have more control over my hair and to be more familiar with it.

  • @deeraven5369

I never, ever, ever thought that I would be able to finger detangle my very dense fine strands. I tried a long time ago and came to the conclusion that I had to use a denman brush. But you proved me wrong and I cannot tell you how beautiful and light and happy my hair came out this weekend after "experimenting" with your technique. I lost way less hair, saved so much water, and had more defined curls that had nothing more than some vatika oil on it. Thanks!

I tried this finger detangling method number two and it was so great! My hair feels softer and I've gotten rid of my shed hair. My hair was really dry so I knew using a comb would take it out a lot. I didn't lose a lot of hair with this method and even though it took me about 3 hours, it was totally worth it. Now I can just wait a not her week until I get my protective style ^_^

Great video! Loved the finger detangling dance! I loved all 3 methods, and use them all at different times. I'm actually trying to incorporate more finger detangling into my natural hair routine, because I usually use a wide tooth comb and I want to retain more length this year. I am trying to avoid washing my hair today since it is already pretty clean, but I had a tangled twistout that needed some TLC!

Just learned my natural hair type; I thought I was a 4B, but like you I am 4a all over, but a 4b in some areas in the back of my head. It's a shame that it took a coworker who has been natural for 5 yrs to tell me what my hair type is. LOL! I'm only 6 months in, but my growth has been great. Now that I know I share a hair type with you, I will be following your advice for sure. :)

I've started to use less combs. I find finger detangling is perfect for wash n gos because it doesn't disturb the curl pattern.I still detangle with a comb for twistouts and a denman for curlformer sets tho, just to get some extra smoothness.

Hi Nap! I LOVE your vids and i watch them all the time from the beginning days to the recent! I like to see what i am looking forward to! ;) I cut my hair back in Aug and now I have about 5 1/2 inches of hair. It looks like we have the same kind of hair, your coils just seem to clump together more and my coils just poof and frizz out though. I love using my curlformers! They make my hair so smooth so easily! Ive always wondered, have you ever tried the yellow and fushia extra wide curlformers? They make smooth barrel curls and are awesome! I love them and I think your hair would look so pretty using those! Keep on inspiring others! Peace!

Thanks for sharing, I've never tried the dry method before, it seems harmless so I will try the dry method.

I'm going to give this another try! So far, I don't think finger detangling works for 4c hair, but I hope I lose less hair in detangling without a comb.

Naps this video is awesome!!!!!! Exactly what I needed and didn't even realise I needed it!
A question though. I love my hair (finally) and actually enjoy its crazy 3b- 4b texture. However I want it to grow which usually means protective styles. Is there anyway I can still do my twistouts and have fun in it WITHOUT having to protective style it?

Hey in case you're interested check out 101ladyt she managed to retain quite a bit of length [ nearly waislt length] whilst wearing twist outs and a the occasional protective style :)

Hey Steph Powell ! Oh yea! I actually rarely do protective styles! I like wearing my hair out and do so about 99% of the time! I'll usually only wear hats and scarfs if I'm doing "extreme" outdoor activities like skiing and such! I think it's just important to keep the hair moisturized daily and you'll be fine!

Thanks for sharing! Now maybe my scissor happy hands can put the shears down during my detangling process. I extremely quick to snip those knots out. Detangling my hair used to be a nightmare, but I noticed as the health of my hair improved and I kept it moisturized, detangling is easier. Hopefully your "detangling dance" can help me cut my detangling time in half. Tks

Yes, I'm doing it right. The issue I'm having is seeing all my shed hair. I find myself examining my shed hair to make sure it's not breaking off. I find my hair growing a little longer using the finger detangle method

Awesome tips and dance. I find it a little more difficult to detangle since my hair is getting longer and it is so tightly coiled. Ill def do this when i don't want to use a comb. Xoxo ;-) 💙💙💙💙

Thanks! Detangling my hair with my fingers seems to cause less damage and breakage.
