This new Federal Signal siren system in Addison replaced the ATI Systems warning siren in Village on the Parkway Shopping Center. Did not know this until I saw this video. There was a Thunderbolt siren there until it sadly got replaced with the ATI siren. Back in 1995, I worked at the General Cinema Prestonwood 4 Cinemas that faced the same parking lot where this new siren stands. I would go on the rooftop for the Addison siren system monthly test to hear the Thunderbolt roar, and it was LOUD. I would start the movie that began at 1 PM when the Thunderbolt siren began winding down. The building was built with poor sound insulation. I wish I had made a video of it back then. Little did I know that this Thunderbolt was about to be kicked out of the Addison warning siren system. Went there a few years later with my video camera just before the test only to find the ATI siren in place. "Ain't that a bitch!"
Wade's siren videos wow this is a gem of a comment. I’m gonna pin this too! Is the General Cinema where the AMC is now or was it a different building? That’s amazing that you got to see the legacy system in its prime, video or not. The DSA with the stone looking pole in the video is the direct replacement for the ATI that stood at Village on the Parkway.
Glad to hear that you like this comment I made about the Village on the Parkway shopping center former Thunderbolt siren location. It was a 1000T model, and my guess is that it dates to 1979 when the General Cinema Prestonwood 4 screen theater first opened. It closed in 1998, before the lease expired. The nearest address is 14862 Montford Drive. The theater was directly across the street from Blue Mesa Restaurant. Last time I was there, construction was going on in that building, which faces Montfort Drive. It used to be a Fitz and Floyd store, then an arts center for the city of Addison. Imagine the numbers on a clock. The AMC Theater would be at the 12 'o clock position, the General Cinema Prestonwood theater at the 2 'o clock position, Montfort Drive at 3 'o clock, Blue Mesa and Public School 972 restaurants at the 6 'o clock position. Hope this helps to pinpoint the exact location of my old workplace, where my career as a projectionist began. I have 11 years of experience as a projectionist, and have worked at 4 theaters total; my last theater was Movie Tavern in Bedford. Got laid off in 2010 when they went digital. Thank you for liking my comment. I would like to get to know you, and other siren enthusiasts. Could I get invited to a siren meet up where people show off their siren collection and sound them off? I would really like to join this special society of siren collectors. I live in Dallas still. I could send you an E-mail if you want. Please let me know.
That's a very fancy looking mounting pole they used. It's that rock type surface on the pole that looks great. Love that it's square instead of round too.
It’s iffy, they haven’t worked that out yet. There’s supposed to be an educational workshop that might change the testing policy, so I’d wait until later to go check those out.
WhammyP-50 Well if I don't do Addison DSA then I'll picked the DSA in Richardson, I actually never done DSA in Addison before even its replaced the ATI hpss16.
I wonder if this means The House of Commons is in session? LOL I think its an all clear tone. Which is ironic considering its used to mark the top of each hour. Interesting
xMiko Johnson Actually you are partially correct. This is a custom tone set I made for them that is only meant to be on dual tone systems. The chimes still work in single tone mode, but it most certainly isn't supposed to be used in single tone since you'd only hear the high side of the chimes rather than the chords it's supposed to generate. I like to call these custom sets my signature, because every set I make has those particular chimes. It's a better chime overall with it being much more musical and effective over the stock chimes. These chimes slice through the air like butter.
@@tripod1736 No. Just no. Don't spread miss-information. The SiraTone was made by Federal Signal between the late 80s early 2000s. These DSA Units are equipped with UV controllers and dual tone Westminster sound cards.
@@tripod1736 I suggest you get an actual fucking brain before replying. "Made by EOWS"???? Are you fucking serious? You have to be a very special kind of stupid if you think EOWS is a company. Get a new brain because the one you have now is fucked.
You think you're bad, I'm a rare car. There are literally no more of my brothers leftover in my town. Not even a single other dodge car wants to be friends with me because I'm faster than them. I do have one friend tho; a 2014 corvette that sits next to me in the garage. Thats it. If u read this far thx. Lol I'm not a car, It would be cool to have a dodge viper but they are too expensive.

Hey I may go to Addison next month for my first DSA test, is it the first Wednesday at 1:00pm right or Isi t at noon?
It’s iffy, they haven’t worked that out yet. There’s supposed to be an educational workshop that might change the testing policy, so I’d wait until later to go check those out.

FEDERAL SIGNAL FOR THE WIN BABY!
This sounds really good!

wait so how come the tone is dual? Does it indicate that the system is a dual tone system?

thunderbolt10031 very interesting indeed! Thanks for putting in the hard work!
Is it running on a Siratone controller or a standard UltraVoice that is programmed to make the dual toned chime?
It’s an UltraVoice
There’s not a siratone In sight 😂
@@mattmakesmachines Alr
siratone chimes?!?!?!
"Something litteraly bit me when i was doing that" xD i found that funny for some reason
They brought the SiraTone chimes back. Yay.
Do they test the system in chimes at all or was this the only time?
Sound like eows 612 Westminster chime
Because it’s made by EOWS
