Siren1000T Capacitors are worn down from use. Capacitors don’t last forever and have to be replaced after a certain point. That control board is a replacement from 1999 and the conditions it was subjected to didn’t treat it all too well in the 17 years that it ran in this controller. Caps are already pretty tired.
Siren1000T Well it won’t since it’s a digital controller. Unfortunately it will start having odd problems as it ages due to capacitor issues. Just keep and eye on it and watch out for leaking caps. The fluid inside electrolytic capacitors is highly corrosive and will destroy solder joints and traces on the board if left unattended for too long.
This is an oddly specific question but is there a way to get electronic sirens from other manufacturers such as this siratone controller to run Whelen DTMFs and voice while keeping their original tone generator??? It’s probably quite useless but I’m curious
Yes. For a SiraTone, you need a different decoder that supports Whelen’s fast DTMF and then you have rig up Radio PA in the controller so the radio can broadcast to the speakers.
I'd assume that these can run any 100-Watt speaker as long as you match the impedance [I don't know what the impedance of the SiraTone speakers are] of and you have a frequency response of 200-2000 Hz.
If you're talking about the ESC-864, then the SiraTone is more analog than that. There's nothing digital in this controller, unlike the 864 that uses a digital system to control analog circuits.
@@thunderbolt10031 Interesting. So even though I'm a siren fanatic myself, I still wonder.... When did the two companies (FS and Whelen) first start making the electronic omnidirectional sirens? I never could figure that out.
@@thunderbolt10031 Thanks for helping me out with that, bud. In my opinion, I think Whelen is good with their 560hz and 600hz sirens. I've always wondered why the pitch drops a little when steady signal is activated. Maybe worn out tone generator?

Sweet, I need a box for a siren but I’m poor lol
now you got a SiraTone, you should be able to extract the sounds
Ehh it's kind of pointless because you can generate it with Audacity and end up with a much cleaner signal.

How did the siratone aux could tap an aux button to westminster chimes
AUX is just auxiliary tone. Plays whatever cartridge is inserted into the aux slot on the board.
Ive been wondering how loud is the controller by itself?
@@pacificpational2626 hmm… probably about as loud as a modern phone at about 50% volume. It’s not absurdly loud, just noticeable.

Hold up a sec are siratone controllers compatible with other types of horns like phsp 6 horn
Of course. A speaker array is just an array. You can use any controller

There’s not. You’re hearing the resonance of the transformers inside the amplifiers. No speakers here
