- After my ride backed out on me for the seven thousandth time, I made the last minute decision to have Mom drop me off at the new 130 down the street, where Fire Station 41 used to be. It was worth it.
If you've been paying attention to my Dallas ambiences from home, both on this channel and on my previous channel, you'll know that coverage in my area has been lacking for a good while now. It wasn't completely inadequate, but it needed help.
West Shore Services installed this siren in August of 2020, but it wasn't hooked up until January. This was it's second ever full test (January was a quiet test, inclement weather), and Dallas's longest test in recent history.
Notice how the rotator slows down when the thing winds up and speeds up when it winds down in between each cycle? My guess is it's a voltage thing. When the chopper is winding down, all of the power is going to the rotator, but when it's winding up, the power goes to both the chopper motor and rotator.
1:27 damn that was a loud punchy boy

In seriousness here this is an epic video - Dallas tests are always pretty interesting.
That’s a high pitched one! Awesome!
AC. Not DC
Nice video as always
A nice new fresh 130. I also noticed a FS sticker on the back
Beautiful sound
Nice tornado siren test
Beautiful
She SCREAMS
Yeah, no kidding.
How can Dallas miss this gap that this new 2001-130 recently filled
City documents indicate they've known of it for years. It just took a fucking tornado to get them to do something about it.
Wasn’t there a thunderbolt in its location before? Unless it wasn’t active
Sounds pretty punchy!

That is the company’s logo.
