For the last 1st Wednesday of 2023, I decided to get this shot that I’d known of for… oh, I’d say a little over ten years at this point. You can prominently hear this siren in several tornado warning videos on my old channel, amberlynn6914. I got here with like ten minutes to spare and used every single one of those minutes getting set up - I had to thread the lens through a bunch of power line...

I somehow convinced Mikey to go to Valley View for our Thursday test. Looks like they need to put a new screen on it, birds seem to have infiltrated the horn. This is the last regularly tested 6M Thunderbolt within five hours of Dallas, and I try to make it a point to go once a year. Enjoy!

It’s me, hi; I’m the moron, it’s me. I left my camera gear at the hotel and didn’t realize it until I was halfway to the ceremony… Oh well. Thank goodness others were there to pick up the slack. This storm was crazy asf. Even the one on 5/28/24, that one took out my power for 12 hours. They say 80mph is a rare tag for a severe T storm warning but we've had it 2 years in a row now. I heard like 5 different systems on 5/28 including one of the t-bolts from Dallas lol. I'd like to think it's maybe the Royal Lane one or sum cause I heard it in carrollton
You probably heard a Farmers Branch Whelen. The original Whelen controllsrs went bye bye long ago, replaced with Federal UltraVoices and they run what the dealer calls “ThunderMod” tones - essentially, a toneset modeled after a T-Bolt. It’s fooled me a couple times lol
@TheSirenSeeker might be true but I've heard FB's sirens and the one I heard in the video I recorded sounded exactly like a thunderbolt. Honestly the one that'd match it closely would be the Vortex over on Welch/ the Vortex on Senlac rd but they still have a tone discrepancy. There is definitely a couple departments who still use those sirens

As of 2024, this is now the only remaining FS&S 2T22 in the entire State of Hawaiʻi.
Yep. So sad that there’s only 2 Mechanical sirens left in Maui that are Active.

This siren is still up and left abandoned in place as of 2024 according to the most recent Google Earth satellite imagery.

@@ZacharyHappy366 Yes, left abandoned as I think the contractor forgot to remove it after installing the new FS MOD-6024B near Kilohana Park. Buying a new controller for this siren won't do much as I believe it has motor issues, also the 6024B fills the gap perfectly.

@@ParadiseSirens does the 1212 at wailea work? It’s marked as maintenance required and in the middle of the wailea Beach resort parking lot. I don’t know how to access that siren of whereabouts and why it’s placed there.
