If you don’t like that one with the handle, they have the original one without the handle BUT it’s for kinky-coily hair; it’s red! I love detangling with it. But I also like the color of the one you have and the fact that there’s a handle… I’ll be picking that one up soon🙌🏽

You need to tell your hair dresser to put leave in spray serum by Simply Shelli. Just spray on cover with plastic bonnet, wait 2 minutes and your hair will turn silky. Comb will glide through

I use the Wet Tangle Teaser and the "Felicia leatherwood" generic brush on dry/damp. My suggestion is to try them with African Pride Pre-Poo. Or finger detangle with that if you find it therapeutic.

I swear by it! I went from clumps of "shedding" hair to a much more reasonable number of strands. I bought the handleless one for thick hair (red) for my daughter with crazy thick hair (for her little tween hands) and the handleless one (pale pink) for fine hair for me. She now easily detangles her own FULL head of hair by herself, and I'm only losing strands that need to come out 😁
Boar bristles are only good for men's hair and people that never really intend on their hair being defined at all because the hair is not meant for defining anyting but like smoothnes no curl but that 3c mess she was talking come on girl sto
I went back to finger detangling and its been the best thing for my low density hair. Ive accepted that tools are not for me, but daaaaaang I do miss tools though!! The sound of it gliding through is so satisfying... and the feeling on your scalp! Sooo good!
@@babyzealotformallyknownasi3277 when I google 4b my hair doesn’t look like that. My hair is really really coily and I have a lot of shrinkage. Like tight ringlets but with a pencil diameter. Maybe even a bit thinner than a pencil. I feel like I don’t see my hair type a lot.

I have the opposite hair type, literally 1a I think, and I would say still this is a lifesaver. A couple of years ago my hair went below my hip (if I say down it would lay in my lap). I don't think it compares to brushing 4c hair, but the ease to work through all that long hair was wonderful.
For years I avoided getting the Tangle Teaser. I watched Mo Knows Hair recent video and she suggested it. I went on Amazon and realized after reading some of the comments that they are not all the same. There is a fine and fragile, an original, I had to make sure I got the one that said “Tangle Teaser, Thick and Curly Detangling Hair Brush. Initially I was going to get the purple one, which is the Ultimate Detangler same as you and Mo but that one had a handle and in the past the brushes I purchased with handles are awkward and I end up holding it at the top where the bristles are. I ended up getting the Thick and Curly one without the handle. I just tried it this week. Had no problems detangling BUT, it too slipped out of my hands. I guess that comes with the territory. I like it though.
There's one that curves to meet your hands with enough of a tail to support the palm,but does not take away from your grip by the bristles. It's really comfortable. Maybe next time you'd be able to find one of those?

Your hair is beautiful! I have 4b, 4c hair too and I use the same brush. I go through my tangles at a slow pace and let gravity take its course with the brush. I find I have much less hair in the brush when I'm done. Patience + Technique + Tangle Teaser = Hair still left on your head.

I had the Tangle Teezer brush in my stash since 2016 and was always intimidated by it and never used it up until this year 2023. I learned how to use it and its a life saver for me and my daughter 4b/c hair❤
The tangle teezer has been my savour for getting rid of tangles out of my hair as a kid. I have very dense and straight hair that tangles easily and the tangle teezer was one of the few things that actually helped with tangles (and it didn't hurt my hair). I had my tangle teezer for years till i had to change it. I'm not the kind of person to spend money on anything but the tangle teezer is so worth it.
I too only use the tangle teaser on this 4c head of mine and it’s the only thing that doesn’t rip my hair out. I’ve used it on hair that is soaking wet and hair with just moisturizers and it is THEE best!
My recommendation for changing your hair for the better is buying a shower filter and a good clarifying shampoo. Did that and my hair is super plush and hydrated and I haven’t had a trim since January (desperately needing one tho). Also. If you like the tangle teezer, you’ll love the Flexy Brush by curlkeeper. The name says it all.

Be careful, yes this detangles your hair with ease and speed but I have a vary similar hair type as you, and I discovered over a long period of time this brush consistently broke my hair off.

I have 3c hair btw so you'd think I would prefer the curly hair one, but for me the original is the way to go.
I have to agree with you. I have the original, the one for all hair types, I actually bought it by mistake. It works great for my fine hair and doesn’t make any sounds either. The teeth are nice and flexible. I almost went to order the “correct one” but your comment just affirmed my belief that it works just fine. I was worried seeing so many comments about it breaking hair off. But I use mine only with a prepoo detangler while wet.

This has made me gravitate toward finger detangling with a slippery conditioner. However my top 2 detangling brushes are now the Felicia Leatherwood brush (USE SMALLER SECTIONS WITH THIS BRUSH AND DO NOT USE IT ON DRY HAIR!!!!!!) and the Wet Brush paddle brush with boar bristles.
