And you probably thought that they were using editing their videos and was using a different brush and when they got their hair detangled they acted like they were using the Unbrush. Not all of them lie. Have a little more faith in people.
Same! I don’t believe that other influencers lied about the brush. I’m not thinking of them at all. I just trust Whitney. The fact that she is over the moon about the brush means a lot. Now…. FLAXSEED GEL PLEASE! ❤
Flimsy bristles are a GOOD thing for type 4 hair. That’s why brushes like the unbrush and tangle teezer work so well. We don’t need stiff and thick bristles in our hair, we need flexible ones that won’t put to much force on our kinks and curls to minimize breakage while brushing
I was HIGHLY underwhelmed when I took mine out the box too. I just knew my $20 was wasted BUT nope. It’s legit! I use the Unbrush with my tangle teaser..it’s magical. I shed a thug tear while watching this (for real) b/c natural hair can be challenging af..and I say that with love. It has been a journey trying to figure it out over the years. Then when you think you have it down to a science, your hair changes! lol Been rocking with you for years Whitney 🥂 ❤
It’s due to the nylon flexible bristles. Just do some research and see which hair brushes materials works best for hair and why. The same with a wide tooth comb, one it should not have seems, 2 it should be made of good fabrics. Conair Dr knot products works amazingly because of the material it’s made off
I bought this brush because we have a house of all different hair types and I hated having to use different tools for each person. This brush truly works on everyone hair. Additionally for people with shorter hair it is very doable to detangle on dry hair, for longer hair highly recommend wetting your hair first. This is a good product 🥰
If this natural hair queen says it’s good i believe her, wasn’t impressed by the hype but seeing your reaction I’m getting one! They owe you a check sis 😂❤
I’m glad you tried it with hair saturated with conditioner and water-that’s how I get it to perform so well on my tangle-prone hair. I love my unbrush! It was not love at first try though but we’re locked in now 🔒 ❤!
I’ve had mine for a while now. I always start detangling using the brush vertically first and you will get right through your strands. It’s the only thing I use now. I always detangle in the shower on wet hair. Mine is black and teal. I absolutely love it!!!
I have natural coily hair that tangles easily with webbing to the point of tears. It can take over an hour to detangle. I ordered this brush. I am so happy! It detangled my hair quickly and easily! Thanks for this review! I enjoy watching your videos. 😊
I don't know where you went. But i was here with you 13 years ago with trader joes tea tree oil shampoo😂 You started me on a journey that turned into an organic self care business. God Bless you.
My daughter has a lot of long, curly, fine hair that tangles up so easily and this brush is a lifesaver. It detangles without making her ends knot up. And for myself I saw less shedding in the shower.
I've been sick for months so my hair has been neglected for months. While I was in the hospital from 12/26-1/21 I ordered the unbrush to detangle my matted knots. I used a spray bottle of water and detangle and the Unbrush. It wasn't easy but it was easier than it should have been. After watching this I'm excited to give it another go on wash day (yes, months in the making, I'm still recovering)! Thanks for a great review Whitney!
When I first used it, I definitely had to do the pause and look 😂 because I could not believe that I was actually detangling my hair with a brush. I usually just finger detangle and use a wide-tooth comb and call it a day. I was convinced that brushes would just rip my hair out. Nope, not this one. 👍🏾
@@Naptural85 That brush is the truth! The funny thing is, my cousin, who is BALD (and male), is the one that originally sent it to me before I saw it all over my feeds 🤣
I'm sticking with Felicia! I always detangle on truly cleansed, wet, & conditioned hair, and she does her thing. However, I'm glad it was enjoyable for you!
I tried that brush, too, but all it did was tangle my hair even more wet and dry for my 4 type hair. I sent mine back. Keep rising shining star. Love you much, sis.
yes! It’s best for me to use on soaking wet hair too. That brush and the wet brush works best imo. The bristles look intimidating, but they shockingly work wonderfully. The leatherwood is just too stiff for me overall. BTW, thank you for your years of contribution. ❤
Sallys had a version of this brush a few years ago, it was orange and pink, it was amazing at detangling but fell apart at the seams after a few months. But it was $5. So I kept repurchase. After the 4th brush fell apart I gave up. Now that I think of it, I should have jst superglue it back! I think I still have one in the cabinet 😂
Oh, the Plugged In Lightweight Cushion-less Vented Paddle Brush. I did the same, and ultimately started to superglue it. That brush was my hair's everything. I think they are all dupes for the Curl Keeper Flexy Hair Brush.
I was coming to chime in and say the same thing! Yes this brush looks identical to the Sally's orange and pink one. I loved that brush! Unfortunately it never had any grip and with slippery conditioner hands in the shower, it never survived those drops to the shower floor 😫. I got tired of replacing it. But MAN that brush was bomb.
I didn’t believe it could work, so my sister bought me one. I was amazed. I needed this brush when I was younger and thank goodness I am able to use it on my daughter’s hair!
Thank you so much for reviewing this brush. I trust you when it comes to ALL things natural hair. And I’ve been wondering about this brush. I’m gonna get 1.
I got the unbrush for Christmas and it's solid! You definitely have to finger detangle the big knots out first + lots of water and conditioner but this brush does it's job better than my other brushes!
It absolutely works. My daughter is extremely tender headed. It usually takes me all day to wash and detangle her hair. I was done in less than an hour. No squirming or screaming. GET. THE. BRUSH!!!❤
Girl !!!! I feel you in this video ... i felt the same way when i bought it , that it felt super flimsy and to my surprise it literally cut detangling time in half . For the first time today I used it on my oldest daughters hair and it didn't take a life time to finish it . Best product I've bought in a very long time !!!!!!!
I have been following you for at least 10’years now. I got locs about a year and half ago and still continue to follow your channel. Obviously I won’t be using this brush, but I’m always getting asked about products and tools from my friends who are natural. I will for sure tell them that this one was Whitney Certified 😂😂😂
I bought it a few months ago. Everything she said is correct. I have never been able to detangle my hair in under 10 minutes. NEVER. I have the other brush too and I prefer the Unbrush.
I ordered the Unbrush brush for my toddler. It is a miracle brush. She is tender-headed, and I don't hear a peep from her when using the Unbrush Detangling brush. She has very thick, 3C hair (For reference).
I love love love this brush. I’ve had it for a hike and finally decided to use it. It does wonders for my 4c cozily hair. It’s a life saver and I definitely recommend it.
Yes! I use it on my hair wet with conditioner. I watched the ppl doing this dry and gave it a try on a small portion of my dry hair and put the brush away bc I saw breakage. Then I watched a video comparing brushes recently and they did something I hadn’t seen any other do, they listed brushes that should be used dry vs wet! That’s why I gave it another try. It’s really quite good!
This brush has become my fave ! I was confused because when I took out the box it looked so cheap , and normally I’m a finger detailing girl . Washday is no longer a chore for my type 4 hair
I feel the same way…every time I use that brush. I cannot get over how easy it is to detangle my hair and how it is not a challenge anymore getting through my tangles. I am in LOVE!!
The unbrush is a natural girl game changer. I've been using it on me and my daughter's hair now for months now and it has cut our detangling time in half. Love it!!
lol!! Your face is how I was looking when a hairstylist used this brush on my hair a few years ago! I bought it immediately and I’m excited that they have so many colors now! I have to buy more.
Yes! The Unbrush really shines on soaked hair. I’ve NEVER been able to detangle sections as large as I can with this brush. I also thought it felt really flimsy but it’s held up with no issues. I loved it so much I bought a couple more just in case I misplace it. 😅
...I've been waiting for you to do this LOLOL we love you!!!! I would lose handfuls of hair. Now...WAY LESS hair loss! I legit wanted to cry the first time I used it. It's the best! Also, using your t-shirt towel for the first time that day made me feel like the prettiest girl in the world!
I never fall for these things...but this one was cheap...l bought 4. One for me..type 4 VERY thick, waist length hair which l barely ever comb because l HATE combing my hair..and 3 for my 3 daughters...type 3 hair. Love it. Works well on all of us👍
I was convinced when it went through my coily hair in a matter of minutes, something that use to take 35 mins was reduced to 15 minutes. I am also super tender headed so I really loved this brush when I didn’t make my scalp sore from pulling my hair and bring tears to my eyes.
No seriously. I just got this last week and I was ready to give all types of negative reviews and tell everyone to not believe the hype but this brush glided through my hair so effortlessly. I couldn’t pick my jaw off the floor. That brush is sorcery.
Why does NO one remember this brush at Sally's years ago for $4.99🤔...Was not called the unbrush tho...I went on EliElizabeth here on RUclips and 5yrs ago she did a haul on Sally's and 2:58 right after she shows the tangle teezer you can see the brush that is exactly like the unbrush it's pink & orange...
I don't know what it was, but I didn’t get the same results with the Tangle Teaser that I did with the Unbrush. I don't know if the bristles are slightly longer, more pliant, or mixed with magic, science, and prayer, or WHAT. I do know that the handle and the weight make this the most comfortable brush I have ever used on my 4z hair (and I have a repetitive motion injury). So, maybe the way I can hold it, and the fact that it is wider and shorter than my other paddle-style detanglers, makes it more efficient and more controlled. It is making me pick up bad habits, like not detailing and twisting my hair before washing, then not detangling after and hopping into bed with damp, loose hair with just a bonnet. I did it to test the brush, and I just realized that I have been doing this since NOVEMBER. I will restart my tangle-prevention methods, but I should be bald by now, and the brush should have broken in half by December, but NOPE.
You officially officially sold me. I was willing to try it but u took it over the top for me. Ur the reason I went natural, we have the same curl pattern and texture, so I kno if it worked for y it will def work for me 😊 thanks girl
Your review is the only hair review I will follow, cause my hair is just like yours super coily, 4c, and yes thicker and tangled in the middle too! THANKS WHITNEY
My unbrush comes in a couple of days. The comments I’ve seen on it made want to check it out and take advantage of their advertised offer so I’m really excited to try it now after your review!
I've been in the market for a new detangling brush, and have sat on the Felicia Leatherwood brush for at least a month. I'm so glad I waited until this review came out. I bought the Unbrush instead and just used it for the first time. Whitney is right about everything. It feels like a cheap toy - and it's amazing. It cut my wash time and shedding in half. Thank you, Whitney, for never leading us astray!
Heck yeah!!! I thought it was a gimmick at first too! 😂But this brush has changed the game for me and my daughter. Wash day is a LOT more pleasant now.
Luv you Whit. Your videos, voice, and energy are like a hug from when times were "simpler." With the glut of "influencers" today, it's nice to see that you've been able to innovate and remain relevant through all the fads and hype.
I feel so validated because I had a similar reaction when using it. Unbrush has cut down on time spent detangling mine and my daughter’s hair. You can use it on dry hair too; a miracle
Brought every curly girl i know an UNBrush for Christmas. They raved about it. One even said her hair is softer since using it. Great review Whitney. 🎉🎉
I just used the unbrush this weekend for the first time. Luv it. I have about 13-15 detagling brushes. This one might be the best. Its difficult gets my roots detangled. This does it in no time.
I have to agree with another commenter that this is the only review I truly trust. Just got my Unbrush in the mail from TikTok shop and now can’t wait to use it. Thank you 😊
I dont be over on tik tok, but I do have an Unbrush. It works best when you hold the brustles VERTICALLY. That's change makes bushing coils better with any detangle tool. I would always finger detangle before any tool. It does a good job. I prefer it now over my other tools.
You have to try the Curl Keeper brush. It's made like the Unbrush, but larger and very sturdy. I use mine in the shower with Melanin Leave-In conditioner and man my curls are snap, crackle, and popping all over the place. These brushes are really good to use in the shower under running water. I can't live without mine.
Yeah I bought the brush almost two months ago and it is bae. My fine hair doesn’t tangle as bad but tools in the past have absolutely ripped my hair out with no effort on my part to the point I was using my fingers and only used a wide tooth seamless comb with lots and lots of conditioner. this brush glides and only releases shed hairs. It’s a thing of beauty!
It’s called the “Ibiza” brush and it’s been out for a few years now. I bought mine in all black from the salon after I watched my stylist detangle my matted hair with it with little to no pain.
I ordered this brush based on your recommendation and yes.......this brush is awesome! When I got it I didn't think it would be as effective and efficient in detangling my, but it does a great job without as much tugging. I love this brush and it has definitely been changed to my favorite detangling brugh.
There's a cheaper version of this brush from Pluggedin at Sally's for $5. I saw EverSoGorgeous use it and my hair loves it! It's the only brush that doesn't rip my hair out and I lose WAAAAAAY less hair with it. The current one that I have is by Curl Keeper. My big head has more hair now, so I needed a bigger paddle brush. It's a few dollars more than this one, but trust and believe, that I will be getting this one as soon as I inevitably drop and break the one that I have now! Thank you!
@@leggs4113 I hope so too. She has tried to make comebacks before, but I think her schedule is too hectic to allow her time to fully return. I miss her positivity!

Conair had a brush like this before too at cvs in neon colors. I loved it until it broke and could never find it again
I will restart my tangle-prevention methods, but I should be bald by now, and the brush should have broken in half by December, but NOPE.
facts
I never detangle my hair wet…but your reaction made me believe I need this brush.
The way I just RAN to TikTok and ordered this finally!!! Absolutely convinced after this review! $8.22, so def affordable. 😭
I paid $18 on amazon ☹️
@@brownsugar4412 wow 😵💫😵💫😵💫
You officially officially sold me. I was willing to try it but u took it over the top for me. Ur the reason I went natural, we have the same curl pattern and texture, so I kno if it worked for y it will def work for me 😊 thanks girl
Literally received mine in the mail yesterday. Like most, I was skeptical with the quality but now I’m super hyped to try.
Your review is the only hair review I will follow, cause my hair is just like yours super coily, 4c, and yes thicker and tangled in the middle too! THANKS WHITNEY
Ok I'm sold lol I'm so getting this brush! Thanks 4 da review!
Yes girl! Use conditioner and detangle is everything. ❤
How RICH are you to just buy and do whatever you're "told/instructed"???
I have to agree with another commenter that this is the only review I truly trust. Just got my Unbrush in the mail from TikTok shop and now can’t wait to use it. Thank you 😊
I dont be over on tik tok, but I do have an Unbrush. It works best when you hold the brustles VERTICALLY. That's change makes bushing coils better with any detangle tool. I would always finger detangle before any tool. It does a good job. I prefer it now over my other tools.
The 3rd positive review I've seen of this brush on wet and dry coily hair. Made my mind up, im getting 1! Thanks for your review ❤
Oh yeah! I bought it months ago and have been in love! I tell myself everyone with curly hair😊 thank you for the review!
I had a similar moment of shock/confusion/joy when I tried it. Seeing your reaction was incredible - I can relate 😅 Love the unbrush!
I'm SO happy to see you SO happy!!!! 😂😂😂😂😂😂❤❤❤❤❤
Ok now I will finally get this brush cause I trust you and this can help me and my daughter
It’s called the “Ibiza” brush and it’s been out for a few years now. I bought mine in all black from the salon after I watched my stylist detangle my matted hair with it with little to no pain.
That's a different brush
Thank you!
I miss Ever So Gorgeous. I hope she’s ok.
@@leggs4113 I hope so too. She has tried to make comebacks before, but I think her schedule is too hectic to allow her time to fully return. I miss her positivity!
Love you Whitney!! So happy to see you.
And agreed that brush looks like a Barbie brush. But now I want to try it 😂
🤣🤣💯 hey Jasmine!! 😃👋🏾 Omg girl, and it FEELS like a Barbie brush too! 🤣🤣 I was NOT expecting it to do what it did!! 🙌🏾🙌🏾🥰
Best brush I've ever used hands down. I was glad I bought it. The hype is definitely true!
The hair goddess has spoken! It's official 💯🔥🔥
I’ve had mine for 3 years. My natural stylist recommended it and is the only detangler that her salon uses
This brush definitely changed my wash day! It’s ridiculous how much time it shaves off detangling for me!
Yep! The Unbrush is the TRUTH honey. Works better than any detangling brush I've ever tried!
That Unbrush IS THE ABSOLUTE BEST DETANGLING BRUSH and I’ve tried them ALL! ❤❤❤❤❤❤
