This is nonsense from beginning to end. The laws re. definition of sex have changed significantly in various parts of the world over the last decade, and so has the ‘trans’ landscape. @@dasnixblix4846 you are right, it's not the trans people that want to put trans women in women's sporting categories, women's changing rooms, women's bathrooms etc it's trans activists that push for these things, activists who believe equality means taking away from those who 'took from them' first but that's revenge not equality. Inherently, a trans woman will never understand the fear and anxiety biological women feel when having to share intimate spaces with men, it is so innate it's impossible to explain this to a biological man because fellow men don't make them feel that way. Trans women even after being on estrogen are far stronger than average biological woman and I think trans women know this as it is a biological fact. There are also those trans women that enjoy the feeling of making biological women feel scared or anxious to share intimate spaces together.

It is so frustrating for all of us, as the number of Trans activists is actually quite small. But the most vocal of them have a lot of power and MONEY, which they use to start law suits. Some of these people have very controversial beliefs. Dr Stock gets some criticism because she is happy to use pronouns and call people their new names. I also would do that as a courtesy, but I expect the same courtesy when it comes to calling myself a woman, a mother and so on. I don't identify with the term ciswoman. I am quite old now and was definitely more of an ally when things were how they were 10, 15 years ago before people started aggressively demanding the rest of us jump through hoops.
@@medwayhospitalprotest it is very sad what’s happening and that we cannot come together. Channel 4 and their wokewashing is beyond tedious. None of the real issues for women was explored unlike the extremely entitled middle class men. The editing around proff Stock coming to terms with her sexual orientation wasn't missed either. Her and my sexuality demands nothing but to be treated the same way as everyone else and not to be discriminated against in the provision of jobs and services. To the programme maker I'd ask this.... should I as a disabled woman be allowed to requeast female only intimate care and if so do you think its acceptable for the NHS to lie about who is female?
The problem is they wanted more and more and more. It’s not enough for us to just “accept” them. Now they want access to women’s sports, women’s spaces, women’s health care, women’s language, women’s awards, women’s scholarships… there is no end to their wants. The fact is biology matters. Very true. The term “transgender” is now used as an umbrella term to include dysphoric homosexual transsexuals, AGPs, drag queens, and what used to be referred to as fetishistic cross dressers. I don’t know if the majority of people who agree with the trans position actually know that the vast majority of “transwomen” are heterosexual males who retain their male genitalia. The homosexual transsexuals is the minority now. Those were the ones who posed much less of a danger to women and girls. I still don’t agree with them being in women’s spaces, but it’s less unreasonable than what’s going on now.
@@dewilew2137 you sound about my age and yes, most men who transitioned in those days were gay. "Saying that trans women are women is not like saying grass is green or rain is wet" Perfect... The clue is in the fact that the prefix "trans" is necessary. Imagine someone saying that a plastic flower is a real flower. Sure it's a "real" flower... made of plastic. A real PLASTIC flower. Arguing that the complex biological processes that make up a real flower (its complex interdependence with the environment, with pollinating insects, with other plants, with the soil, with the very air we breath) is just a minor detail is INSANE. The superficial shape of the flower itself is the minor detail. It's the complex interdependent processes that make it a real flower.

I think that the entitlement displayed by Kass when they attempted to derail the debate is something that's deeply ingrained when one is raised as a boy, whether they like it or not. When you're pretty much encouraged to speak up as a rule in a way that girls aren't, you eventually grow accustomed to being listened to and feel entitled to be heard (which isn't in itself a bad thing; I wish more girls could be raised with that confidence). I've ultimately not got anything against people who identify as trans or non-binary, but it sometimes seems like they want to pretend that they're exempt from being guilty of any sexist behaviour and ignore the real dynamics that exist between males and females in our society. And that just isn't how the world works. Social justice warriors used to encourage people to "check their privilege" but it seems a lot of people in the newer movements have let that notion quietly slip away, which is convenient because they seem to mostly be populated by white upper-middle class students.
A lot of young people are entitled in general - a lot of girls are like this now. Standing up for yourself is good, but you need the self awareness to go along with it.

He then stood up and blasted her, it was strategic, sneaky, underhanded and rather cruel, a bid to disarm and wobble Stock. Indicative of many trans. righrs activists who, if they had an argument would be able to deliver it without these strategies, without their aggressive, foot stomping, chanting , loud protests. They would be able to argue their side on its own merit but they can't because their argument unlike their opponents, is not rooted in reality and fact.
19:07 Gina Gwenffrew "Its very difficult to talk about women's rights vs trans rights". That is the ENTIRE issue. When any man can say he's a woman that means the category of women doesn't exist. The reason we have women's spaces (toilets, shower rooms, prisons, refuges) is to keep women SEPARATE from men. It's as if they think these men who say they are women pose a lesser threat than any other man. The statistics show they are the same risk, if not a greater risk than any other man. Therefore, trans rights mean the abolition of women's rights.
I feel for your struggles. There is genuine freedom, eternal life, relational peace and unchanging hope for you in Jesus Christ, my friend. I was saved seven years ago today. A former drug addict, God hating, suicidal lover of darkness.
Thank you. I fully support you and your desire to live however makes you feel authentic, happy and whole. There is a lot of toxicity in this debate. I worry that it's regressive.IMO, we don't need Jesus. We need care, understanding and love.
@@GroovyBurrito Hey my friend, a question. What philosophical basis do you have when you presuppose that we should care, love and understand each other? I have that as a Christian who sees others as created in the image of God. If all we are is animals then those seemingly self evident values are void and subjective. You clearly reveal that you know God and assume people are his creatures, with objective value. Our civilisation has rejected Jesus and that is why we are plunged into darkness and chaos. The only hope is people living under the reign of the King Jesus. That is where freedom and wholeness is truly found. And i have no problem pointing people to the only hope that He is. God bless.
I always enjoy hearing the total lack of awareness of these lipstick wearing men who say they don't feel safe with other men, so demand that they men themselves come into women's spaces to make women feel unsafe. Oh the lack of any joined up thinking.
Welp. That was a LOT of hiding behind "trans men" (females). A lot of time wasted hearing from trans men, who precisely no one feels threatened by, and who this debate is not even about, in terms of the safety of women and girls, and our sports, and our spaces, etc. The debate is about males who want access to the above. The documentary did go into this, and that was good, but would have been even better to actually baldly state the facts in terms of how many MEN are currently being housed in women's pri /zons in the West, and give us the actual numbers in terms of types of cri /mes men commit vs. women, and how many of the men currently in the female estate are in there for r*, SA, or vio /,Lent offences that women almost never commit. Males in the women's estate are actually MORE LIKELY to be locked up for committing r* and SA compared to the rest of the male population. What does that tell you? I wish these facts and statistics were more commonly known, and were presented front and centre in this debate every time. I'm also left wondering when, if ever, AGP is ever going to enter the mainstream consciousness. There is massive difference between a same-s* attracted male 20:51 like him, and a straight male who gets a thrill from this. The latter has AGP. This is the specific group that the magnifying glass needs to be put over. This is the group we should be discussing. Not the female "trans men", not the hsts.
I love how after the claims from the "he/him" community activists about the "gender affirming" process actually being a super-duper regulated with all kinds of red tape to prevent people from making terrible and irrevocable mistakes, the documentary just leaves that uncontested-- as if the whisteblowing on the practices of the Tavistock clinic, and it's consequent demise, wasn't a massive scandal in the UK; as if Keira Bell (along with a growing contingent of young detransistioners) doesn't exist-- they didn't even attempt to address any of that. While I appreciate that the dialogue presented in this doc is a massive step up from what we've been subjected to for the last several years with the likes of Stonewall whispering into the ear of the BBC), it seems that now that they desperately want to take this middle-ground approach, which, while I'm receptive to that in regard to many social and poltical issues-- I'm getting really tired of this call of "but both sides! Both sides!", when *one* side is very visibly attempting to use censorship, intimidation and social coercion in order to have their aims met
You are more than a body, whether you know it or not. But not having the body you want isn’t the same thing as being born in the wrong body. That’s like saying you “should have been born rich”.
Then let them change their bodies, let people identify as they wish. Male violence is perpetuated by men, not trans women. Think of how many cis men have been serial killers vs trans women. It’s nowhere near close!
@Marianne Kane - Equipped with Strength kathleen stock literally says men can't be women, which kind of goes against the entire existence of trans people. How do you lot not get that? She acts like biological sex is all that matters, even though when we meet people we don't examine their genitals or chromosomes, we go based on their gender expression
I think the gender identity movement is essentially religious, and religion often gives permission for people to act like assholes and still believe they are doing the lord's work.
transwomen are men and transmen are women--but men and women are human beings and all human beings deserve respect and equal rights. there is no hatred in not believing that sex is mutable or assigned or socially constructed.
The way in which gender ideology activists have behaved and continue to behave towards dr Stock is abhorrent. Even if you don't agree with a single thing she says (which is basically that sex is real and immutable; oh my what a scandalous point of view...), their behaviour can never be acceptable. It's very unlikely, but hopefully there will come a day when they realize this and feel very ashamed of what they've done to her and women in similar positions.
"We are trans and cis together" What the hell is happening? Can you imagine "we are white and black together"? What about "we are boys and girls together"? That song at the end was just twilight zone levels of our woke new secular religion.
This, I was looking for someone to compare all this to religion because it truly has become one for them. It has become their whole identity and basis for morality.
There is no right way to be female or male. Surely we can agree on that? In which case why can they not be satisfied with being a male that likes wearing his hair long etc? Why is it so important they gain access to women’s spaces even when they know this will frighten women?
The amount of times I’ve seen a man dressing like a female saying he’s a woman because he wears dresses and has female friends etc. I was born female and I hate the colour pink, I was always a tomboy and I rarely do the stereotypical female things but I’m still a female. Just as men whose favourite colour is pink is still a man! My boyfriends hair and his best friends hair are both REALLY long. In a clothes shop in my town, they have a unisex open changing room, a female changing room but not a changing room for men themselves which is a bit sexist considered not all men are comfortable with their body! 🙈🙈
As a Cambridge resident, it's truly sickening to see the shame these intellectual nobodies have brought on my home. At least I can sleep in the knowledge they'll be back at home with mummy and daddy within three years. Professor Stock, I respect and applaud you. Thank you for your strength of character and intellect from the true Cambridge. 💪👏👏
I love Kathleen Stock and I am so dreadfully sorry about how she was treated. She is a gentle soul and has not deserved any of it. In fact, there are TERFs who are constantly criticising her for being too nice. Honestly, I don't feel like any needs to be nasty, its really just the case that women need to reiterate their need to be safe and to have single sex spaces. Single sex sports. Single sex prisons. Build the third spaces. I don't want these people not to exist, as they keep insisting. I don't want them dead at all, I don't think women should have to give up their rights in order to placate MEN.
I just don't understand why people just want to hear what they want to hear. It's crystal clear that Kathleen doesn't want to offend anyone. She has her own concerns and she wants to talk and discuss it. the way she was frightened and it's clear in every single second of her short speech is not acceptable. Be rebellion, fight for your rights but don't stop talking and listening, otherwise you would worthless
If there is no box, why can’t a feminine man use mens washroom. Women are victims. And are smaller and more vulnerable. Called non conforming, it’s great. Not sure what bathroom? Fight for acceptance in your own.
It's interesting, isn't it, that in a discussion about the right to say things that might be offensive to others, Kass seemed to want to impose limits on what women can say, lest it might offend him and his cronies, while being blatantly offensive TO women. It's the same old sexist double standard - men can do what they want and women must do what men want - dressed up in new language.
I was deeply moved by the discussions the trans woman & the radical feminist lesbian (sorry I can’t remember their name) had together. It is exactly what we need to get out of this war. This is how grounded & respectful conversations should be held in every circumstances. Violence will never ever solve such issues. And here, the utter violence (words, acts, threats) comes from brainwashed youngsters lobbied by huge & powerful corporate interests. How sad

14:36: “Transmen are men, transwomen are women… if you’re having a problem with that, you’ve got to really question yourself… Do you feel that your views might be considered hatred?” This is the trans activist position in nutshell - here is a proposition for which I am offering absolutely no evidence or support and which you are required to take on faith… and if you disagree, you are hateful. It’s absurd.
I don't think the people of Norwich knew their city council was up to this nonsense. Not if they knew the ramifications of saying any male that claims the right to be in women's provisions can be in them. Any male, no matter his expression, can choose to make up his identity for that moment and whatever purpose he wants to.
That’s not true. I’m a child transitioner, and I was not “groomed” into “transing” or anything I had parents that didn’t accept me and forced me into stuff that was stereotypically male. This was back in the 90s. Saying that there is “no such thing” as a trans child totally invalidates the experience I had. Which is fundamentally why both sides of this debate cannot just discuss, progress and work together. Now we are in this situation where both sides are skeptical with each other. It helps no one and instead puts two marginalised groups against each other. And who is benefitting from it? I’m not personally in support of what these so called “trans activists” are for. I think getting rid of the GRA hurts genuine trans people from medical help. However, saying that trans people don’t exist is exactly the same thing these TRA are doing by saying that all you need is to self ID. If it was that black and white, I would have picked the easier option and had a waaaaaay better experience.
The ones from Cambridge are talking total nonsense and just continued to conflate sex with sex stereotypes (gender/masculinity/femininity). No one has ever said that people fall into either being masculine or feminine, that is total nonsense.
“We set up those spaces not because all men are sexual predators ; but because enough are , women can’t tell who will or will not harm them” Why isn’t this crystal clear!
This identifying as making new generation more gender fluid absurd. Women’s Lib 70s and 80s fought for acceptance of non stereotypical sexist restrictions. Far more supportive of self expression. Needing to be categorised pretentious and absurd regression.
I’ve been thinking this for sometime. It feels like ‘womanhood’, particularly, are being fetishised. It feels like we’re rolling back years of progress on what ‘feminine’ and ‘masculine’ mean (even if we already had a long way to go). It was great to see a trans woman, on the video, who wasn’t dressed up in a dress, heels and make up, as though that’s what womanhood is.
To those trans people who say they just want to live their lives I would highly recommend that they don't scream at people that they are calling for the genocide of all trans people simply because they want to discuss the values and philosophy of gender issues.
The difference is that, if và so called “trans activist” came to give a speech, nobody would try to cancel them. That’s the issue, as far as I can see.
Hm, bit disingenuous to state that the Scottish double rapist transitioned. Nope, he slapped on a silly blonde wig, a pink puffer jacket and matching handbag. There are photos of him like this talking on the phone and you can't miss the bulge in his leggings. He's a very good example of why self ID is nuts. Pun intended!
One of the biggest concerns for me is the increasing use of high levels of illogical and uncontrolled hatred by those who engage with this topic. It won't do. It is simply uncivilised. We have now got the crazy situation where serious and responsible thinkers like Dr Stock have begun to experience levels of ad hominem vitriol, that appears to be in inverse proportion to how measured and calm their commentary has been judged to be... that's bonkers. *We must calm down, please* ! Angry people aren't sensible people - they're full of adrenaline and don't think straight !!
The ONLY important issue regarding transgenderism that people TRULY care about is the way it impacts on the exclusivity of the female domain and on the well-being of children. Anything else about it, you can fill yer boots! Incidentally, why does this issue only seem to involve white middle class people... apart from the delightful Linda Bellos?
Julie Bindel isn’t exactly from the middle classes. Kathleen Stock is right I think that this cause is part of what some of them see as their “hero journey”.

That’s all that most of these women are saying and they’re being called transphobes for it. Or terfs. It’s so ridiculous.
Surely the government could take a better lead but the problem is that most government parties are driven by their own beliefs. I think the solution would be to develop spaces for trans people. I don’t know what other solution can be, but gender dysphoria is real and it is not pleasant to have this disorder
Very well said. I think it's fine to say trans 'woman' there is a qualifier. As a man I do not like the qualifier 'cis', I'm a man. If the loudest voice in the trans community/activism was yours, there would be broad agreement from everybody. Good luck to you.

I should not have to be exposed to a male body in a female change room. I don’t want little girls exposed to that either. I am not a menstruator, a birthing parent or a chest feeder. I am a woman.

They missed a giant part of the story by largely focussing on old fashioned genuinely dysphoric male transsexuals who aren’t actually the cause of the problems (although I know Julie Bindel would disagree). It’s the wholesale redefinition of gender and the concept of self ID that allows a tidal wave of AGP men identifying into being trans for their own sexual purposes that are the heart of this issue.

Males in the women's estate are actually MORE LIKELY to be locked up for committing r* and SA compared to the rest of the male population. What does that tell you? I wish these facts and statistics were more commonly known, and were presented front and centre in this debate every time.

These self righteous privileged twits are laughable!
This documentary tries to de-escalate the current toxic debate, and I like that very much.
Yes, it tries to have a happy ending but unfortunately I don't think there will be one in reality for many years.
@@medwayhospitalprotest just dont ever do anything nice for a crazy person
Kathleen Stock is a voice of reason in a sea of entitled, insane rich kids.
Well said
And self-centred rich kids
Is Kathleen Stock a woman?
@@SuperKripke are you blind and deaf?
@@SuperKripke Of course she is. A married lesbian with a very young daughter.
Fight for acceptance in your own.
right? Why aren't these trans-identified men demanding to be accepted into MEN'S spaces?
I was really offended by Kass’ inability to debate.
@@sarahblaquiere3121 Exactly it’s just a new form of misogyny.
The delight and euphoria in Kaz face as he verbally abused Dr Kathleen Stock tells me everything.
Yes an insecure man, telling woman what to do. And calling this woman a witch. Misogyny or what!?
@@giuseppemariocescutti-fitz5835 Spot on.
Entitled brat who never had to endure anything in his whole life.
Exactly. They make me sick.
How sad
Linda Bellos ♥ amazing woman.
Linda and I have been friends about 15 years
@@KatyJonWent I only met her a couple of times and she was just delightful ❤ a total inspirational woman

Take good care of you 🥰
Good grief these Transactivists are absurd. How is so little consideration or respect due to ♀️
14:36: “Transmen are men, transwomen are women… if you’re having a problem with that, you’ve got to really question yourself… Do you feel that your views might be considered hatred?” This is the trans activist position in nutshell - here is a proposition for which I am offering absolutely no evidence or support and which you are required to take on faith… and if you disagree, you are hateful.
It’s absurd.
Kathleen Stock is truly amazing. To see what she faces and yet keeps going.
"Many people can go through life without thinking about their gender at all"
Indeed 😂.
Yesterday I signed up for a new internet package since I moved and he asked do I go by miss, ms or mrs. No gender questions! It was so nice 😅
I don't think the people of Norwich knew their city council was up to this nonsense. Not if they knew the ramifications of saying any male that claims the right to be in women's provisions can be in them. Any male, no matter his expression, can choose to make up his identity for that moment and whatever purpose he wants to.
Oh some of us know & are not happy.
Kathleen Stock is a sane, brilliant, and incredible woman and I commend her for having the courage to speak up against this literal insanity.
Thank you for posting for those of us outsde the uk!
It's disgraceful that a woman of her intellect should be subjected to the malicious and ignorant judgement of spiteful little brats
Shout out to Kathleen Stock and Julie Bindel, great brave women, thanks for doing what you do!
Well done Ms Stock.
Keep up the good work
There is no such thing as a child wanting to be trans. They groom their young easily influential minds into believing a lie.
Also for me I think we had already solved those sort of issues. Oddly trans activist have more limitations attached to them than I ever did.
Kathleen Stock speaks for me!
Kathleen and Julie. Thankyou and sorry for the attacks. ♀️ standing up for ♀️s get a far rougher time than males questioning Transactivism.
“We set up those spaces not because all men are sexual predators ; but because enough are , women can’t tell who will or will not harm them”
Why isn’t this crystal clear!
If someone is suicidal , they need mental health support not surgery.
To those trans people who say they just want to live their lives I would highly recommend that they don't scream at people that they are calling for the genocide of all trans people simply because they want to discuss the values and philosophy of gender issues.
Women are the ones who have so much to lose. Again. :(
Can we stop calling us Cis- we are not having an identity crisis and know what we are - we don’t have the issue so we are just- man or just - woman
The difference is that, if và so called “trans activist” came to give a speech, nobody would try to cancel them. That’s the issue, as far as I can see.
Kathleen is a hero
28:05 “I’m slipping under the radar” sir, that’s the manliest voice I’ve ever heard
I'm astounded at how manipulative they are! "Oh you don't agree with me? That's hate!" Yeah, right.
Normal people don't have the privilege to claim they're actually from another class of people and expect strangers to believe it.
Julie Bindel isn’t exactly from the middle classes.
Kathleen Stock is right I think that this cause is part of what some of them see as their “hero journey”.
