I remember it, and it's one of the best. EXTREMELY underrated, especially with the memorable tonal shifts and the epic DK Isle Swing leitmotif at the end. Look up the restored version of this track by Jammin Sam Miller. He uncompressed the SNESN instruments and makes this incredible sound that much clearer! It's like you just came up out of the water and can hear things clearly.
Klump: KRITTER MARCH!!! HIP HOP HIP HOP WHAT YOUR GONNA DO! HIP HOP! Krusha: oo ooo I Iove marching! King K Rool: Come on you smarty pants get the Coconut too! At last I kidnapped Donkey Kong RAHHH AHAHAHAHAHA
It's amazing how this music can raise your concentration levels... it literally makes you feel like you are marching towards the end but you still don't stop!!! Magnificent!!
And when you thought welcome to crocodile isle was foreboding and full of army vibes, this masterpiece, able to put both determination and fear in the hearts of those who hear it, plays
Loved playing DKC2 so many times! Always happy to hear this track playing in all its glory, minus the stress of having to actually CLIMB that ruddy castle and avoid being crushed! Number of lives lost trying and failing to complete the level when I was younger - don’t even want to think about 😂. This level was a classic case of when the s*it got real and the game difficulty really cranked up a notch or three! The music perfectly reflects that and the stress and panic associated with the level. What nostalgia - quite simply, thank you!
Thanks for all these reuploads. I don’t understand why DKC2 was taken down but not the other DKC games. Edit: This is probably my favorite track in the game, the bass instruments go off so hard
I remember finally getting to this level as a kid. Now, I couldn't help but nerd out and say "I recognize this song!" when I heard it play at the beginning level in the Metroid: Zero Mission mod Spooky Mission 2
toxic tower is probably one of the hardest dkc2 levels along with the first bramble blast, slime climb, squawks shaft, and the final battle against k rool (haven't played lost world yet)
I've played Slime Climb on the GBA and it was harsh. Being bit by a Snapjaw was a cruel for this stage. Had to beat it in many tries, death after death, lives gone one by one.
is it just me or is there like a hint of n64 era rare in this particular song? Like you can hear some hints of how games like DK64 and Banjo Kazooie would eventually sound?
(DK Cartoon Season 3) Klump: KRITTER MARCH!!! HIP HOP HIP HOP WHAT YOUR GONNA DO! HIP HOP! Krusha: oo ooo I Iove marching! King K Rool: Come on you smarty pants get the Coconut too! At last I kidnapped Donkey Kong RAHHH AHAHAHAHAHA
'cause I sucked at games, I used the cheat code to hear this track way before I played the level that showcases it. I remembered thinking to myself, "holy crap, I can only imagine what the hell they're gonna throw at me while this is playing."
Totalmente de acuerdo, representa muy bien esa sensación de Estar ya en la fortaleza llena de peligros,ya casi al final de tu aventura 0:55 personalmente me suena a un recordatorio para no rendirnos tan cerca del final
What if there was an enemy rush and the elevator didn't move until you defeated each wave? I would have personally made Castle Crush the final stage, leading to a room with a stained glass window with K. Rool's face on it, where he would perhaps summon a boss like Kudgel, for a rematch, before fighting you himself.
Muchos la escuchamos siendo niños lejos de las redes de la actualidad y coincidimos que transmite lucha, derrotismo y luego levantarse a continuar la lucha por nuestro seres queridos.
Donkey Kong 2 with this song had something that surpassed the first (DCK1) among many things And it is the fact that this song gave us that "signal" that there was very little left for the final fight against K'rool, it is really wonderful that this is exactly what it transmits to you. The DKC2 soundtrack is the best of all time in snes games and one of the best in nintendo games without a doubt, David Wise simply outdid himself in this installment
While I consider Sonic 3D Blast's The Final Fight to have the perfect ominous final boss track in the Genesis/Mega Drive version, this is the perfect ominous track for a regular level or castles.
Yo man... what's wrong with the barrel, should i throw it? - Famous Last Word of a SNES Player Context: In Castle Crush, there was a iconic corruptong glitch known as the invisible barrel, if you went to a corner with the DK barrel at the beginning of the level, and put up and down, it will destroy it, but your still holding it in your hands, this caused one of two, you fucked you SNES and CORRUPTED IT or you Glitched and enemy, i did it in my Wii a year ago... boy my 102% game was lost... be quick to reset, staying too long is what corrupts the file.
SMW's is so sad, it's unbearable! I can't help but think of Mario feeling completely desperate as he goes through the castles, thinking that Peach is gonna get mauled before he reaches her! Fuck that soundtrack as a whole, it's really not that good!
Yes, it has strong similarities with Bunker 2 and another I haven't identified yet, maybe Depot. They are listed as different composers but I don't know how accurate that is. David Wise is thought to have written all of DKC2 and nothing for Goldeneye, but who knows
On a lesser soundtrack, THIS would be the song that everyone remembers. Yet no one ever talks about this phenomenonal track.

Y'all, I'm here to tell you... 26 years later, this track still slaps.
The Jungle Hijinx motif at the end is really good, and fits considering this plays in the levels where you getting so close to saving Donkey Kong.
The way it’s used is almost identical to how the same motif is used in the Minecart music in DKC1, which felt special 😊
0:55 This part reminds us to not give up because we are almost to the end, we just need to push a little further!
1:12 man this is the moment in the track where u see how much shit u have to go through.
And when you thought welcome to crocodile isle was foreboding and full of army vibes, this masterpiece, able to put both determination and fear in the hearts of those who hear it, plays

It's really not. People just overestimate how fast the toxic pool rises and then panic and make mistakes.

Este tema está infravalorado, siempre a la sombra de otros temas como Stikerbrush Symphony, pero la verdad es que es un tema buenísimo
