If you listen closely, you can notice that one of the instruments in this song is in reality the sound that you make in the first Donkey Kong Country when you hit the minecart rails

I always found it ironic how DKC2's mine levels had a happy sounding song despite the game's dark theme, while DKC1 had a creepy sounding mine theme when that game had a cheery and colorful style.
So like. Music has always made me rly emotional and I remember being a kid and hearing this song for the first time, like when the pseudo choir kicks in especially. And just being so profoundly affected by it lol. It's weird what moves ppl sometimes I swear
This music makes me cry and it did as a kid too… it’s likely a the combined anguish of all the creatures forced to work in the mines probably many have died… even the horrifying zingers are singing their lamentation’s…
@@zacharykenniston748 omg I know what you mean! As a kid, I had a whole big story in my head about how terrible and cruel K Rool was, and how everyone working for him were basically slaves. And then these damn apes just come through and kill them simply for being in the way😂😂😂
@@criminalsen2441the game dkc2 is about an analogy of nature. The mammals aka kongs live happily in a jungle paradise as they would in real life they have families and nature is good to them. But the kremlings are reptiles and insects. Beings that nature treats horribly. They have no one to care about them and no one to comfort them or say “I love you” they are alone in the world and lashing out because while they starve and war in the molten wasteland polluted bog and diseases forest they watch in envy at what the mammalian kongs have. But the kongs are just as cruel how they see the other animals as inferior and kill them mercilessly. All animals have hearts and emotions and souls and all feel the same pain. Some are just luckier than others and this game is all about that juxtaposition. The Kongs and kremlings are the same.
I get the feeling the zingers are lamenting because they were taken from their hive and families very young and worked to death in the mines as slaves. Their song always makes me tear up when I hear it.
I was listening to Jean Michael jarrs Industrial Revolution overture, and someone pointed out this song being similar in the comments, so I had to check it out myself
This song is included in the Donkey Kong Country 2 CD soundtrack. It's just listed under a different name, "Kannon's Klaim". Why? I'm not sure. I do know in various other interviews and tweets from David Wise, it sounded like he had names for all of the songs he created for those games, but sometimes they got renamed after the fact. So this could be a case of that happening.
I heard this track isn't on the official soundtrack - not even the japanese version: Super Donkey Kong 2: Diddy & Dixie. It has 34 tracks. Doesn't seem to be there.
If you listen closely, you can notice that one of the instruments in this song is in reality the sound that you make in the first Donkey Kong Country when you hit the minecart rails
You don't have to listen closely to notice that. It was the first thing I noticed when I first heard this song
Facs.
Nice discovery I like how they used the sound as a beat for the song it’s fire
Nice lol
I never noticed that before! That's so cool!
Rare: "I want you to make a good soundtrack for the sequel to Donkey Kong, which is as good as the first"

Much like every other aspect of the sequel, they didn't make it as good, they made it better!
Listen man, it's a Rareware game. You NEED that phenomenal soundtrack over silly cartoon animals.

The music in this game is incredible.
I always imagined that the Zinger would sing this passage
I always imagined it was just a choir of Zingers in the background singing.
The zingers BEE singin
0:00-10:00 is the best part
Agree
I always found it ironic how DKC2's mine levels had a happy sounding song despite the game's dark theme, while DKC1 had a creepy sounding mine theme when that game had a cheery and colorful style.

Didn’t even grow up with it and it does. That part just goes so hard
Reminds me of Minecraft
Hot Head Bop, Forest Interlude, Stickerbrush Symphony, Mining Melancholy, and Bayou Boogie are my favorite songs in DKC2.
And Flight of the zinger
I also like Welcome to Crocodile Isle.
Lockjaw’s Saga, In a Snow-Bound Land, Snakey Chantey
We could go on and on here 😈
My favs are Krook's March, Lockjaw's Saga, Primal Rave, Haunted Chase and Forest Interlude.

This game is a fuckin masterpiece

Partamos por Stickerbrush simphony
O la del mundo 4 de Mario 3
Literalmente joya, chiste malo
La música de los videojuegos pasa por encima de muchas de otro tipo, cuando están a cargo de un equipo fenomenal pasan estas cosas
That note at 00:59 hit my brain hard.
They call that a “cinematic hit”, it’s awesome to hear one on a SNES cartridge lol
1:44 I like the bass line that plays starting at this point
1:23 best part
Very groovy, excitement within these walls of RUclips, thrilling responses from all who behold life. Such is Great, loving!
The best soundtrack ❤
No other soundtracks lift me up like this and the Earthworm Jim 1-3 and Super Mario soundtracks.
Sound fantastic
Of course it sounds fantastic. It's part of the Dkc2 ost.
It has a better ost than the 1st game
I like the little bits of the forest interlude here
Jamas me habia dado cuenta que en el fondo suena una campana en varias partes de la cancion. Se detiene en el 0:54 pero vuelve rapidamente en el 1:04.
Modern games soundtracks just can't keep up with this masterpiece. It is unheard of how good this actually is.
It’s called dedication and hard work. A lot of heart was put in games back in the day. That’s what made games like DKC2 great and timeless
Well some modern games still have good soundtracks

I feel stupid for overlooking DKC2. What a great soundtrack. ❤
I can imagine an alternate or additional sound bit in this track, like the sound of pickaxes hitting against rock to match the beat.
