    Very nice. As a child my dad , just back from Korea, bought me a large 3 rail Lionel train set with massive extra track. Anyway, as much fun as we had with that model rail road, 2 rail is much more realistic. Thanks for sharing the video!

    Love the sound of the slack running out at 5:16. Great looking track work to run those classic trains on.

      We hear that very same phenomenon quite often, only it's the full size from the track that runs behind our house. It's just slightly louder than what is heard on the video.............I mean it can almost shake the house. Nice video.

    Great video enjoyed it lots, it inspires to get some projects finished, wondering how big the layout is and what the main line radius is. Thanks again for some 2 rail Scale action.

      Thanks for the kind words. Here is the information on the layout, as provided by Brady: The outer main track is 76 inch radius and the inside secondary main is 68 inch radius. The yard lead shown in the video, where the New Haven freight is pulling out, is 64 inch radius. The overall layout is 22 ft wide x 28 ft long with a 27 ft long x 3 ft wide, 11 track staging yard off one corner that includes a turning WYE. There is also an eight track staging yard spiraled inside the rectangle and a 14 ft long x 16 inch wide industrial district along one wall housing six of the railroad’s 32 industries.

    What mechanism does the All-Nation F units use? Is it driveshaft each side of motor going to towers down to each truck? Or only to one truck and a driveshaft between both trucks?

    • @ParadocsMusic
      @ParadocsMusic  2 года назад

      Both the A and B unit both have All Nation tower drives with 9000 series Pittman can motors (bigger than needed). Only the rear truck is powered on both of them. The towers have helical gears. These units have many operating hours on them. The gears are still in great shape but the rivets on the gear tower casings eventually came loose. The video captures them during their shake-out run after servicing.

      @@ParadocsMusic Thought so. My Nw2 is like that but both trucks are powered. It's very loud. Maybe it's getting loud because rivets are loose?

      @@ParadocsMusic What did you do to service it? Drill out rivets and use screw and nut?
