  • A three-way civil war has broken out - the ultranationalist radicals in the north, supported by the remains of the old Entente, and the Anarcho-Syndicalists in the East, supported, of course, by France, are set to dismember what's left of the Kingdom of Spain. We'll do our best to support the legitimate government in its hour of need, but holding two frontlines is going to be difficult. We'll meet the French on the battlefield, once more.

In Spain, you should prioritize the syndicalists instead of the carlists. The syndicalists are usually supported by french and british tanks, while the carlists receive entente infantry.

Yes, I've seen a French tank division near Madrid already, that'll be taken on next. The initial objective was to push the Carlists back to a defensible position, since they had literally broken through and were threatening the capital. If the loyalist troops had managed to actually hold in the East, I could have broken through, but they're collapsing too fast, so taking on the Anarchists is the next priority.
I'm used to the Spanish civil war delay mechanics (unplanned offensive), which usually means that the frontline is rather static, except for hotspots, but here it's back to an all-out fight, so have to take that into account.

Never expected you decided to help the Right KMT in Guangxi since Germans helped the Qing government against KMT Northern Expedition in the lore.

Lore answer: divide et impera, make sure there's no single faction that can become powerful enough to unite the whole mess, and kick us all out of East Asia.
Reality answer: I literally don't have an overview of the various China factions in this timeline. Tried to read up on lore in the wiki & reddit, but quickly got lost between various pre & post-rework things. Decided to just support what sounded the least troublesome for now.
As I've said in other comments, I'll probably leave China be for now, given that Europe is going up in flames everywhere.

Yep, it's getting a little hectic, with the variety of civil wars going up now - I'll probably focus more on Europe going forward, mostly because my equipment production plainly doesn't support interventions everywhere...

You don't really need to worry about Austria. The cancelling of the NAP is most likely down to weird AI interaction with the game mechanics. They won't attack you.

Good to know. Still, within character, given the whole situation in the Balkans, being suspicious of the Austrians and their motivations isn't completely unwarranted. They did support Bulgaria early on, if I remember correctly, but like the Ottomans, they're not too happy with us post-Weltkrieg, and I wouldn't put it past them to take an opportunity to form their own block & take on Germany in its hour of weakness :)

your execution of the war in spain is just dismal, you pushed in at the very begining when you could of drawn more troops in and get a bigger pocket, now you are at a potentially very nice defensive position with the river (just need a bit of cleaning up) but you are not doing that, instead you are face-smashing across the river at a position with little to no strategic value (you could potentially cross a couple tiles to the east at a position much closer to their capital and be able to quickly capture it), while you ignore the the advance of the syndicalists to the east being spear-headed by french tanks. 0 / 10

I do not advise fighting the Carlists before the defeat of the syndicalists in Spain. Because even if the Carlists win, Spain will join the Entente, which will make it your situational ally against the International. First, defeat the anarchists in the east, and only then take on the Carlists. I hope you intend to cooperate with the Entente, and help them return to their homeland, this is more logical from the point of view of Lore.

I haven't made up my mind in regard to the Entente yet, but in character, I'm (or rather, von Schleicher is) definitely in favour of a stable monarchy, since that's the template he's aiming for in Germany as well, so they're more natural Allies.
There may have been a window to kick the Carlists out of the war quickly, if the Spanish troops in the east would concentrate on holding the line against the Anarchists. Unfortunately, they launch fruitless assaults, which leaves them open to counterattacks, so I'll have to settle for the original objective of pushing the Carlists back across the river, and then pivot East to put out the fires there.
The only reason I was going after the Carlists first was that they were literally standing in the suburbs of Madrid by the time my troops jumped off the railway cars :)

@@StoriesandStrategieswithTerry So will you help the Entente regain their homeland or will you make your own puppets out of Britain and France?
