Me as a polish guy I played Poland in HOI4 a lot and I think the most effective way to play Poland is to rush right sanation wing to be able to do diplomatic annex of Lithuania, Latvia, Estonia getting all their stored weapons and units so you will have ~5 24/24 division of 20 width at the time of Germany starting a war on you. At January 1939 I'm starting to build bunkers, usually your first losing point is Poznan so keep it in mind. To have easier war its always good to focus your main power to occupy east Germany even if u might lose few provices on the west, when u take east Germany then with all ur forces u shouldnt have a problem to stabilize western front, also keep in mind that u will be attacked from south later so you can start building bunkers here in war time since these provinces are not attacked yet

You did it, well played! The east border with the Soviets is hard to defend, if they control Lithuania, maybe it would be easier, if you retreat a little bit and make the frontline shorter and easier to defend. Great video !
I really wanted to avoid retreating before any wars and to try to hold as much land as I can. That was a mistake and I should’ve done exactly what you said tbh.
Love your choice of music. I don't mean this in a bad way, but it reminds me of high school. Its the kind of stuff i'd listen to when I was a teenager. Great content
My strategy for historical Poland is to start the was as soon as possible. I go for annex Lithuania and then conquer Czechoslovakia. Then, when Germany goes to annex Sudetenland I refuse (as I control that territory), and that starts the war when Germany is still not that strong. Initially I defend griding down their forces, then go on the offensive. The key is to be as quick as possible as USSR will strike you from the other side as some stage, but when I applied this strategy I had enough time - Germany capitulated quite soon after USSR stuck, so I was able to transfer forces over and then fight and in the end beat the USSR. It was nice to see Sanationist Poland from Cologne to Vladivostok :D
A tip from a beginner Hoi player (700 hours): When playing Poland it is crucial to crush Germany as soon as you can. Soviet Union doesn't really do anything, you just need to have army stationed at the border. It is not easy to capitulate Germany, it certainly takes some time. And Germany strikes really hard - if you are pushed back right away in the first week then you're done. My best playthrough was the Bermontian Poland focus tree. I took Slovakia by completing focus, and after the DoW I annihilated Prussia, defended for a bit, and in the beginning of 1941 Germany was a goner. Of course before attacking Soviet Union (with which I was already at war for a year) I had to complete a side quest involving the capitulation of Hungary, Romania, Bulgaria and Italy. Soviet Union AI is miserable, really. You just need to draw an offensive line on Ural mountains and sit back and do nothing. And of course provide enough manpower and guns. Shouldn't take more than a year. Depends on your skills, my first USSR capitulation as Poland was in 1946. Yes, a 7 year war.
@@aprilruledearth Well, I'm not proud of my skills, but I'm happy that I can beat Germany without a problem now. On the contrary, I did it only once in HoI2, it took me a lot of attempts to make it work there.

Would that have been the end of it, or would Stalin have taken all of Europe? I'd say if only we lived in a world where the US didn't join WWI and allow the Treaty of Versailles to occur. Without it, Hitler never rises to power. But hey, we always have and always will enjoy interfering on the global scale.
I actually found a very easy way to survive Germany as historical Poland. First of all you just boost the relation with Germany to max. Then you get license production, military Access on both ways. All of these make the German ai think i will accept their ultimatum. Because of that the ai has only 5 division pn our border and when they send the ultimatum and we say no they start getting troops to our borders they declare war without having any troops in Konigsberg and the other state. So you can just take it without any issues, they might get 10 divisions in Konigsberg but you can easily kill them since they are unorganised. The troops in the other border are also completely unorganized so you can push for 2/3 days. After that they will push back some tiles but since you have dont have to worry about Konigsberg its very easy to hold. Then they go to war with the Netherlands and Belgium and they other start dying from the Benelux area or from you
