I do appreciate how the main way that Poland wins this scenario (were it to be real) is essentially multiple years of extremely accurate clairvoyance
I think thats the problem with hoi4, if any nation knew what was coming they could have done extreme things that would have made things go very differently
I think the focus tree's should be more restrictive to show how these events where every party refusing to believe how bad it could get made sense at every point, and maybe show how no one nation could have prevented this war
Germany fell into the darkest period in human history so far just to make themselves feel better about losing a war they made up a straw man, then murdered everyone that made them feel uncomfortable
The allies refused to accept that there might be problems internally, and brutally put down political progress, unwilling to confront how evil fascism was and refusing to help those who needed it. Continually affirming might makes right
The communists believed in their own system so much they didnt see the monsters they were becoming utterly refusing to see how they could even approach doing wrong with their new way of seeing the world
Yeah, if you know you're gonna get attacked in 3,5 years and you prepare for it tends to be a lot easier than being invaded basically by a surprise lol
On the serious note, it comes down more to game balance than anything. Poland wasn't as weak and Germany wasn't as strong irl. In game German economy and army dwarf French counterparts, which is ahistorical af.
But you need Third Reich AI to consistently win against Poland and France in historical focuses, so that's how it is.
yo? we have the same prof pic

"the allies are useless" - 1000 years of Poland's history in one sentence
too real
With the cherry on top being allies giving away Poland and its neighbours to communists
THEN THE WINGED HUSSARS ARRIVED- oh wait... only Poland shows up to rescue a nation in need...
What? Until the 1700s, the Poland-Lithuanian commonwealth was a bully of Europe. The largest and strongest state. It took three Germanic rulers banded up to kill Rzechpospolita.

The use of spy for idealogy change in Hugary us one of the coolest use of spy agency I seen in years in HOI4
It’s one of my favorite strats to do, and I’ll be helpless when paradox finds out about it and patches it somehow.
@@thetibbiesshow It makes no sense to patch it, that's what the Allies did in the war, use spies and Intelligence.
It's also possible to lock the US out of nearly their entire focus tree if you can get their democracy support below 95% through spies. It makes them significantly weaker since they're stuck on undisturbed isolation and with the full effect of the great depression for nearly the whole game. They'll still join the allies when Japan attacks them but they'll be absolutely crippled. Those two are the only even mildly interesting strats possible with the spy agency tbh, The old spy system was so much more fun (even if it was a little broken).
@@pedrojoao6790 remember, anything ANYTHING effective at its purpose is OP. Anything 'op' = remove it, or pervert it to a shadow of itself.
@@thetibbiesshow using spies to defend international trade seems like a boring and realistic goal
I feel like putting a military factory or even two on trains at the beginning is better than dropping 15% stability to repeatedly commandeer. I don’t know how that stability affects the consumer goods and factory output in the long game, just something worth thinking about since it’s such common part of the game. Love the video!
I commandeer around 45 armored trains, which each has an IC of around 105 IC. That’s a total of 5k IC give or take. If I put two military factories on just mili trains, I’d have to wait for the build efficiency to go up, before I was able to really start making some trains, and since they’re so expensive to make in the first place, it’ll take forever to make the amount I need. Putting a couple factories on trains also takes away factories from making guns, anti air, and planes etc etc etc. I’d rather lose the 15% total stability early game and put those factories on guns instead. Much much much more worth it imo.
@@thetibbiesshow Idk I just hate that you lose factory output and consumer goods near permanently because of the decision, stability is so hard to come by on that path in Poland in particular. Obviously that’s just my take though and it’s very nitpicky, it really was a great video, one of the most enjoyable long form hoi videos I’ve watched
The pp gain is lesser as well and with that things like worker conditions or xp gain through military staff will kick in later....
imo for "losing" 1 mill that is not worth it.
That about a little detail of a nice video xD
I think youre wrong, you had like 50+ mil factories when germany attacked you, so -15 factory output from stability loss is like 6 mil factories. The stability is more important the bigger economy is, and Poland economy is big enough where using comandeer trains is a mistake.
Agreed, it's basically never worth losing stability for trains.
8:01 I feel like if you're trying to survive as HISTORICAL poland you're allowed to pull out all the stops
you don't need to, you just need to get better
ngl my life rn feels synonymous with poland history. Poland is not yet lost. I am not yet lost. If god is with us, then who is against us? life is just one big pierogi it goes better with grilled onion.
real
You offensive divisions should make use of battle plans. I don’t mean executing plans and wait and see but even if you’re attacking manually, your divisions make use of planning bonus, which gets buffed through grand battleplan
“Fun time some time pills” lol. Subbed
Yes! We need a guide on Carlist Spain, my last strat just don't work since AAT, countries can't lend lease with world tension too low...
I love the way you play the game. Absolutely tickles my autistic need to make use of every mechanic like spies and navy.
"Babe wake up, The Tibbies Show posted again!"... keep up the great work, always a joy watching your HOI playthroughs
love the calming music and commentary, keep it up
I was impressed you were pushing the Germans in East Prussia… without using battle plans. Good division template along the bonuses from spies and countering German air. But seriously, use those battle plans. Not only does it provide bonuses to your troops, but your generals can passively gain a planning trait when they’re fighting (even fighting defensively from my testing) and get the supply consumption trait and/or more planning bonuses when promoted to Field Marshal.
Been waiting for this video and got on my thread just on time. Thanks Tibbies
you are back again!!! Love your videos never stop!!!
Thanks for putting out long videos. I really enjoy super long hoi4 videos
I was just watching the previous poland video then i saw this
Holy shit me too... I watched it 2 days ago and now this is here. It was my first video from him too
I hope the sequel is better than the original!
@thetibbiesshow I honestly have no idea what's going on but it's fun to watch 🤣
BREAKING NEWS: local man travels back in time to help poland survive more than a few months in WW2
Good video ideas, coming back after a hiatus. But your still my favorite hoi4 yt videos
let's go, you're back!
I love the Memel strat, it's SO satisfying to just let the AI crush itself time and time and time again on your ready-to-go troops
the grind is REAL
I got your video in recommended I watched about 20 minutes of it before I decided to go back to play Poland again and de-rust (didn't play in almost a year- BG3 and life got in the way). Gotta say pretty proud of myself- I rawdogged that shit and won on my first try anyway, Germany capitulated in May 1941, by early September Italy was down, and USSR surrendered in early October 1942.
Did a different build though- I started by dealing with Gdańsk- just do the first focus, press the +0.70 daily compliance option and then the +15 compliance/-10 resistance one, in the meantime you can do 2 35 day focuses- did the 4 year plan and the one that gives you 2 civies and industry research bonus, then back to Gdańsk to de-embargo the economy, which allowed me to fix Gdańsk, and still deal with the Peasants before they rebelled, even managed to squeeze getting 4th research slot in there (the focus that fixes peasant revolt adds 70 days the moment you click it, so you can be 5 days from the revolt progressing to the "oh shit" phase, and it'll still be fine) overall made a whole thing much more smooth and fixed my industry faster- since clamping down on Gdańsk also gives factories, and you get to finally use the ones you already have in Gdańsk, and the 'embargoed economy' doesn't just give you +5% consumer goods factories factor (the new, weaker, modifier) no, it's still the old 'flat' modifier- essentially with embargoed+civilian economy it's like you're US with Isolation, with 1/7th the civies, it's actually that bad. Also i built civies until I fixed Gdańsk and the peasant revolt- which is about the first 1.5 years.
Another thing I did differently is I made 2 infantry division templates- a 'holding' one: just 10 battalions with full support- engineers, recon, field and AA artillery. And a 'pushing' one: 9 inf battalions, 3 field artillery battalions, and the same support. Which allowed me to field bigger army- in total I managed to squeeze out 4 full armies, 3 holding 1 pushing, before the fire nation attacked.
Also- bunkers. As Poland you get a total of +55% bunker building speed, use it, lvl 3 bunkers on the frontline, and lvl 5 in few most important areas make a massive difference- remember the bot is stupid, it doesn't know that Manstein can shit on forts if they give him the fortress-buster trait, they're still going to smash their heads against them with Jodl, Bock, and Witzleben. This way your generals can also train the engineer trait- which allows you to give them the scavenger trait, and the bunker-buster one to one of them, so that they can get the "artillery (expert)" military high command position to boost your artillery damage output by 10/15%.
Also Also- I see you didn't use Poland's best general- Stanisław Sosabowski. His Commando trait, which allows you to get the Camouflage Expert, combined with AA-artillery support makes your 'pushing' army almost immune to german CAS (Also, FYI, the other bonus is in red because the game devs presupposed that you're gonna have air superiority, but that's false in Poland's case, so that's also a bonus, because it also reduces the effects of enemy air superiority on your units- which, again combined with AA support, makes you essentially immune to enemy air superiority too)
Your idea with supporting non-aligned in Hungary is honestly amazing though and I can't believe I didn't think about it before, in my playthrough (despite having historical turned on) Germany just justified wargoal on them and attacked Hungary in mid 1940- which caused them to join Allies- they also never flipped to 'the Brown party' later because Germany didn't do the focus and their own ran out when their brown-party support was at 32%.
Also, and here's a thing where my old experience came into play- I managed to juggle Soviet war justifications by releasing fist Ukraine, then giving back Vilnius to Lithuania, and then Belarus at the end- gave me enough time to deal with Axis before they even attacked- they only finally attacked by justifying directly on Ukraine (which also meant that Allies didn't join, imo even better- had a clean peace conference) in june 1941, at which point Germany and Romania was dealt with and I had 2 full armies to spare, easily mopped up Bulgaria and Italy, and then all 4 armies went on the Eastern Front.
Also on a final note: I don't see the point of getting AT guns, AA's give you enough piercing to deal with early-war German tank divisions, and getting more field artillery instead allows you to more easily deal with infantry divisions- which is most of them.
love the videos man, keep it up!
Finally, somebody who plays the REAL HISTORICAL Poland!
I love small hoi4 creators this video is great

Awesome that you’re doing it without Memel strat, you’re good !
please make carlist spain video next, it sounds really interesting
Didn't realise the change to the dutch east indies having some islands near to british malaya lol nice one
I instantly died trying this strategy xD, I think I need more experience
You should always place an offensive arrow even if you don't use it it will allow your troops to build up planning bonus which is hugely helpful especially with grandbattle plan (the whole point of the doctrine)
I always forget to do that.
@@thetibbiesshow you could have saved so many polish lives
oooo new vidoe to watch
When you described your video ideas I imagined you in a padded room and a straight jacket for some reason.
Thanks man! The main reason I got this game was to defend Polska from the Krauts and the Kommies. Its ridiculously hard bro like its not a matter of if they overtake me its a matter of when. 45 hours of just losing as Poland lmao
I've been keeping busy with The New Order. I think this might help.
What music are you using for this video? It’s such a vibe 🦑
Edit: Found it in the description lol. That’s going on the playlist 😎
Love the content keep it coming!
As I was playing along around minute 23:00 the MIO for Infantry Weapons does pop up and it seems to be missing in your edit. What was your take on that for the best little bonuses?
what mother gave him from his birth - is to missread every single polish word he sees
May I ask what us the best division template for this? I might use this to troll an equally as meh friend at the game next time we do multiplayer
improving the unaligned is not an exploit. you dont have to do anything weird to do it like lots of exploits
You should try out Czechoslovakia in Road to 56 mod! You get a super nice focus tree and can resist the germans by forming the little entente
Just a small suggestion when you want to support an attack, menaing you don't want the units to move to that possition once it is taken, use ctrl+right click, there will be blue arrow, meaing support attack, once the battle is won, only the red arrow guys will move to that tile, blue will remain where they are. :)
Also using keyboard like s to split and h to hold helps a lot for the micro, but that depends how you like to play it :)
Bro plays against the nation that starts with one of the highest aircraft counts and says " I'm actually gonna do condensed industry" like bro wth
Germany doesn’t factory bomb. They’ll logi bomb but not factory.
Please give a carlist spain guide because the RNG breaks my soul ☠️
Bro, the first day of the Soviet offensive was like the Somme, 30k casualties within hours. Fortress Poland lol
i found a method so that you dont need to pull back and i didnt lose a defensive battle to the germans, but i overattacked by taking vienna through slovakia by november 3rd 1939, but then had some problems with a lack of divisions, overall better
Is there any benefit to building some static anti-air for this strategy?
Not that I’ve seen. I’ve tried it and it just seemed like a waste of construction. Same with forts.
Also a couple of suggestions. Your production before the war is good, but after it gets fucky, with all the combat losses and attrition, might work to put maintanence companies for that equipmen capture ratio. Another strat that might work is making space marine tanks, I have used it as Poland and Finland since AI doesnt know how to build AT and put it on divisions.
And a bit more cheese. Get a general just for last stands, since the cost of CP is based on number of divisions. So if a unit is about to lose, pop it out, put it on the general, press last stand, and then put it back on the original general when the last stand is over
I would also shuffle production a bit, lower AT, relegate it to be a support battalion, and if you can afford, put 1 arti support battalion, and 1 arti as combat battalion
you might have given up on navy too fast as well. Keep the subs, maybe build a bit more, and convoy raid prussia, it would be easier to close the pocket if they get reduced supply
On some occasions as well, if you cant afford to lose a tile, attack the divisions that are attacking you from the adjacent tiles so they are in double combat and they bleed organisation, so they will have to stop the attack
Finally, i dont think the production of AT is justified on single player. The tank pushes are not concentrated at all, so for the occasional tank battle against unoptimized tanks, the IC investment in AT ain't worth it chief, better stack more soft attack on the divions. Didn't get the rangers either which also boost the artillery of your divs...
Thats it, sorry for the backseating
Like the guide but why do you get Agrarian Reform ASAP instead of taking some other foci first for factories?
I like to just get it out of the way, and it lets me get that bottom industry focus asap which I like.
I can not find any information about it. And I like your videos. So I post my big question here. Maybe you can help me clarify some confusing thing
I was trying to beat challenge with Australia in historical focus to conqueror the germany and recover austria empire.
What I did:
- I made a fascist government.
- Joined to germans ally and start declaring war on hungary.
- Using cavalry divisions as "blitzkrieg", and german forces to stop hungarians divisions from cutting my cavalry on way to capital get enough win points to make a full hungary puppet state
- Right after game started I started making bunkers on capital and proxy region to hungary so I could pass hungariens forces to defend capital from germans
- When german declared war I started defending my 2 regions very well
- Then just making new troops. Especially adding artillery and anti tank support (it is very important before liberating national regions and conquering germany.
But after maybe 1-2 year very successful engaging into german regions my government suddenly became democratic (I restricted all democratic and communistic politic forces in my country, I had 100% war suport and around 80% of stability, full fascism support). And then because I can not start debates with the democratics due to 100% fascism suport (in politic actions tab) I can not peacfully change government by referendum. It always starts civil war. Even then if I start civil war with fascist - allies will immidietly declare war against me.
What a heck is going on here. How my government changed? Is some country has kinmda focus on that or is it just a bug? Or There is some shadow mechanic in the game I dont know about. I have already played around 150 hours and this is rediculous. It happened third time in a row
I tried almost 20 different tactics from my head. This one was the most successful. But this civil war makes me not mad but confused as f**k
P.S. I very like your previous video with historical Poland)
hey could u try playing as luxemburg and beat allies and axis?
It would be a fun challenege!
If you have manpower issues during your offensives you can switch to the non-core manpower advisor and you can request garrison support from the italian puppet, that'll give you several hundred thousand extra manpower.
In Carlist Spain the second "S" is silent
Btw. 2:03 you are not entirely wrong here. Sanation (pl. Sanacja) party name came from Latin 'sanatio' - healing. Word sanitation came from the latin 'sanitas' - health. So it's the same root.
We are so back lads
Man, love historical strategy gamers picking an underdog nation and fighting an impossible situation just to win. The indomitable human spirit 💪
28:57 No, wait! You were right the first time!
That Hungary thing isn't an exploit it is game mechanics
You can core india as England btw, you need to do some focuses but it works.

Why spend so much pp on danzig integration but not have enough garisson? Just the 75 pp descision and garrison are enough
Atfer getting lend-lease at 44:30, in 2 hours (from 01:00 to 03:00) - I think a few german divisions despawned from east prussia. Look carefully, there were 7 division on the southern park, after the cut it was only 4 and a gap in the frontline was created. Am I insane or did he use console to tag germany and delete these divisions?
Can’t use console in Ironman mode. Check the top right hand corner, if you see the “achievements available” emblem is turned on, then you know the run is legit. It’ll be greyed out if it isn’t legit
Also, lastly, if it cheat, I’ll tell ya I cheated. Check out my Soviet and Germany game, I cheated at the end and said I did. Same thing with my millennium dawn vid. I cheated, but same as before, I said I did it in the end of the vid when I had to cheat due to AI shenanigans.
@@thetibbiesshow thanks for the response. I am indeed insane.
How about reviving Persian Empire ?

West? Left. East is right.
Howd you cook that beef? Roast or crock pot or what? Dont leave us with such a cliffhanger!
Crockpot beef because it’s so easy to make when I’m recording videos. It was an old beef chunk I found in the freezer, so I was shocked it smelled as good as it did when cooking. Thank god it tasted like it smelled.
@@thetibbiesshow I suspected as much. So easy and tasty. With some onions, celery, potatoes, carrots mmm. Anyway, loved the vid and thanks for the reply.
true story; half of the reason the Bismarck was sunk was because a polish-crewed destroyer serving with the royal navy went against orders and sailed right into small gun range and drew most of its ammunition before the heavier british ships caught up and finally took her down.

Lore of How to Survive as Historical Poland in HOI4 momentum 100
If you survive as Poland you don't play historical Poland
Do the memmel strat, NO APPEASEMENT!
Something is wrong; I can feel it.
Why didn't Soviet absorb the Baltic states? Usually they do it by mid-1940.
Like you said, they usually do, but sometimes don’t. Imo, the moment mol-rib doesn’t happen, the game kinda go weird. If you want to see this happen, play as historical Czech and say no to the sud demand. In the video I’m working on right now, Germany justified and declared war on both hungry and Romania. Hoi4 is weird man, especially when you as the player do something the game doesn’t think will happen.
polish guy here watching for the first time and yooo i appreciate ditching "sanitation" and saying "sanation" instead!! its such a common mistake.

Might as well be sanitation 😆

Lay mines with boats and ruin German supply? Good or Bad strat?
Horrible strat. I’ve tried it because I thought it’d be awesome, but your ships get sunk quickly, not even getting like 10% mine coverage. Maybe if you held the ships back until the allies send some ships into the straight, but imo, don’t waste the industry and time.
@@thetibbiesshowthe trick is to lay mines with submarines, just like Poland historically did. I am never getting naval invaded thanks to that :)
