  • The Spurs Are Losing, But Are Also Winning
Sometimes more... doesn't mean better. Haste is one of the worst enemies of any NBA franchise. Capable of wrecking the course of a team that is already destined to achieve great goals, just to accelerate a rebuild with trades that really aren't necessary. A recurring story that happens all too often.
But if done correctly, it can also end up being a blessing. The Houston Rockets, in fact, are the perfect example. The seemingly overpaid signings of Dillon Brooks and Fred VanVleet to improve the record and performance during a season in which Houston will be without its first-round draft pick… are paying off. The Rockets find themselves in playoff contention in a very tough Western Conference a couple of months into the season, and the team's young pieces like Jalen Green, Alperen Sengun or Jabari Smith are progressing in a big way. But... this is not the norm. In fact, Houston's current situation is an exception.

Thank you. THANK YOU. I mean it. All you have to do is read the comments sections of Spurs-oriented RUclips channels to see how many of the Spurs "faithful" are angry that we are losing so many games this seasons. They are calling for Pop to step down. They criticize every move, especially the Sochan-to-point-guard experiment. They are afraid that the Spurs are going to make Wemby want a trade with all of this losing. They are afraid that the players will start to get used to losing, and lose the winning mentality. They do not understand what the Spurs are doing. Pop clearly stated what is going on in his pre-game press conference against the Bulls last night, but these angry fans are done listening to him. Thank you for being an outside voice to spell it out for them. I doubt they will listen, but at least you have clearly articulated it.

I looooove pop but he is absolutly not the right coach to deal with this young players. He is too old and did not deserve a tanking team as the final run. I get the fact we cant expect this team to be a contenter... but with 15 losing streak is not the question... the question is more about accepting or not to be tanking team which is the wooooorst thing of the nba game

    Good video anyway.
Highest future Cap Space in the league, and second most draft picks for the future.

You didn't do your research. Devonte Graham has a non guaranteed deal for next year for like $3M break up fee. So he's basically an expiring deal to keep flexibility for the Spurs and maybe trade. Otherwise they cut him or keep him so they can trade him next season (they may not want to sign anyone else with that money during a rebuild). Devonte's contract is very similar to other deals the Spurs made with Tre Jones/Zach Collins/Doug McDormont where they are not long and can be used in trades easily as they are a mid range salary of 10-20m

I agree partly. I do think that they can expend a bit of assets, that they have plenty, in getting, for me, the 2 big things they need, a floor general PG and a better C than Collins. Also, i think that Sochan lerning how to playmake is fine as a backup general, but give him all of that...i don't see it. And Keldon as a 6th man it would be great for both him and the team.
But to me, this is what i see:
    XXXX - Jones
    Vassell - Branham
    Sochan - Keldon
    Wemby - Sochan
    XXXX - Collins
That as a base, could be Houston level to be honest.

You are on point with the lineup, however I do think replacing Jeremy with a solid 3&D wing is a much better choice.
I enjoy his game and I do appreciate his versatility, however I still think playing as a glue-guy,a Draymond Green type of player,
is much more fitting for him. The only thing the Spurs need is spacing if we do have a star level PG and a good defensive center .However Jeremy isn’t quite good beyond the arc yet(I know he improved a lot,but still )😢

Why make it easy for him, then that will kill his motivation, especially being so young. He's actually improving if you noticed.i guess people dont get it. It's like going to a new job and having someone else do the job for you the whole time. You will never learn. It's like this whole world has never been to a new job before.
