This has happened because most young American players only want to play in big city markets. This has resulted in NBA scouts from those struggling NBA teams looking for potential star players outside the US.

There are so many variables to why international players are here I think it's because of the rules u can't play hands on defense there is no post play so the bigs have to shoot instead of using muscle and power and European players don't do that

STOP taking about Embiid as it if he's an International player, he's putting on a USA Olympic Jersey 🤦🏻‍♂️ Everything about his mentality shouts 'American' (ie. Soft & entitled) basketball 💀💀💀

This is all about the failure of the G league in developing players. The competitive atmosphere is not there like in college. And then the other side. 1 year in college is enough to learn where the library and cafeteria is, but that's it. Learning how to play in a competitive atmosphere, not even close. International players are taking over because they train at a higher level not demanding enormous NIL deals to play and train under tough coaching like these hot shot freshmen who flame out after 2 years in the NBA, are. Coaches cant coach these NIL guys like in the past, you first have to give them a manicure and then whisper something in their ear.

Nah, the problems start even earlier then College or G-League, they start in the youth develomental system. EG Highschool and specially AAU! They have the system completely backwards. In europe young talents train 6 days a week and play one game, in special situations, maybe 2. In the AAU system they train maybe one day, but play up to 3 games a day and 7 games a week... not to mention that those games are not competitive. Its Talent packed AAU teams playing scrimmage games against normal Highschool Kids who joined the Basketball team to impress their crush! You learn nothing from that! An additional problem is all the milage those kids put on their bodies. All the jumps, all the hard cuts, all the collisions... a body can only take so much. Hence why so many young players who came out of the AAU system already have huge injury histories.
Starting to train fundamentals at age 19 is way to late! European talents, no matter if they are Center or Guards, have to learn everything. Bigs how to shoot and handle the ball, Guards how to rebound and post up. They dont learn that at age 19, they learn that at age 13-14-15... Just look at all playmaking Bigs who can handle the ball and lead the offense. Jokic, Sabonis, Sengun, Wemby, Embiid, lets include Giannis... All internationals. Coincidence? I think not.

I don’t think G League has a factor at all. American kids should develop in college minimum 2 years, I don’t agree with “one and done” deal. Jordan, Bird, Magic, Olajuwon, Kareem, they all developed in college about 3 years at least. Luka, Jokic, Giannis, they went thru Europe and those leagues are tough to score in. I’m just saying, it’ll be much harder for America to win gold in Olympics.

UK players have so much more class then spoiled American players. They understand the game so much better then American Players. American Player think all you need to do is make dunks and you are good to go. WRONG. Where is the game growing? Not in the US.

Simple answer; NO. They are not. Are some of them great players? Absolutely. Are they taking over? Laughable. There are some good ones in the league, but the NBA is not stacked with them. Chill...... This is just a bandwagon article. Scroll and you will see the same thing over, and over. B-Ball is dominated by American players.

@dalegriffin6768 Open your eyes, non US players dominate the League since 5 or 6 years now, and it's just the beginning. In Europe we understand what the basketball is, a team sport, our fundamentals are higher. US has to change how players are formed.

@@dalegriffin6768 Who is the 3rd, 4th or 5th best player for you? For me Giannis, SGA, Embiid... then Tatum and Brunson as the first US talents at 6 and 7... Wemby is coming up, Sarr/Risacher/Topic are probably 3 more Top10 Draft picks this season, Same is projected for next season... the flow isnt stopping. And because those guys are all fundamentally sound and have a high BB IQ, they do not rely on athleticism alone. So the bust potential is getting lower and lower every year as well. Cause money is invested in europe, the talent level and competitiveness gets better each and every year.

Sure, majority of the NBA are still Americans, and they are still lording it over in most of the teams..but those at the top..say top ten..6-7 players are international..jokic, embiid, Giannis, Luka, sga, sabonis, and wemby..you may say that sabonis was born in the states, but both his parents are Lithuanians..sure..over the years, there were some great international players like the gasol brothers, dirk, nash, Hakeem, Manu, but never in the league's storied history that the current top 5 and winners of the last 6 MVPs are all foreign born..and probably the winners in the next 5 years to come...I do believe that jokic, Giannis, embiid, Luka, and sga have better chances to win MVP than antman, ja, Tatum, booker or brunson..oh I forgot to include wemby in the conversation..my prediction in the years to come..jokic will win one more MVP, so with embiid, Luka probably 2, wemby at least 1 and maybe sga 1..I don't think Giannis will win another MVP, but he will always be in the conversation..another thing..both Luka and jokic will average a triple double for at least a season..
