Hey Chris, you did a fantastic job repairing that dent as it looked quite nasty with the bad crease in it, I would have liked to have seen more of the dent being pulled and fixed but I understand that you can't include everything in the videos, the finish from the paint looked really nice and you always get a very clean finish considering you don't have a booth, thanks for sharing🙏👍John UK

I always find met grey hard to match, I can do several spray outs before I start and I’m never 100% happy. I think I just need to get on with it sometimes. People say moondust is a difficult colour to match, but I find the flop on it gives it so many different shades from different angles, it helps you get away with a bit more . I maybe wrong as I’m no pro but that’s my take .

Chris I'm stripping my hood down to bare metal. The paint is crackig and I can see some surface rust.
#1 Can I use 80 grit , 180 grit, epoxy , sealer , then base and clear. Trying to go with the best long term results with the least amount of steps .O
#2 Can I used etching primer to the hood. How many coats and do I have to sand the etching primer ( If so, what grit).
#3 Would a dtm primer come next with the etching primer. Which route would you take ? The hood does not need any body work.
#4 Can sealer go over epoxy primer?

Hey Chris awesome video yet again man!. I have a problem man please help 😅 sos! So I primed painted and cleared a classic mustang engine bay and every stage went great except the clear where I had crazy amounts of fish eyes on the top horizontal surfaces of both inner fenders, so i sanded them down to the primer-they were deep. Based those areas again and re-cleared, and…again, fish eyes , in the same areas so that leads me to believe those two areas are really contaminated, oil? Where mechanics touched to work on the engine? That’s that I cleaned those areas really good. How can I fix this? Degreaser then the normal cleaning procedure? They’re sanded again to primer. Maybe sealing it? Sorry for the rambling. Appreciate any help Chris

Mainly due to space I would like to do the shell one day and then the fenders, doors, hood and trunk lid another day. (hung in correct orientation) Can anything environmental effect the shade of the base coat if it all comes from the same gallon of paint?

@@davidbodkins8986 No, I haven't but what I can tell you is alot of the strength in the pull comes from pulling the tab at the right time in the drying process. Pull too soon and the pulls weak ,to late and the glue gets brittle.
