Dude I love this gun! I finally picked up one and it sprays great! I really have to get used to not using so much material 👌
I know right! Really saves materials and most importantly cash$$$
Same quality gun as r500?
Occasionally, I’ve been extremely lucky in my 75 years to walk into some really good information. I bought this same spray gun after determining that LVLP would better suit me than HVLP. It wasn’t the cheapest but it was relatively inexpensive given the grand scheme. A week or so ago I Googled a question and this site offered an answer. Based on that answer I subscribed and caught this video today. Holy smokes! I’m not expecting a whole lot out of my abilities but I’m much further ahead than if I hadn’t attended RUclips University. I appreciate your sharing!
Awesome! That's what the channel's all about brother!
Bought one
Haven't used it yet
Feels like it's built well
Love the markings
Superb job as always Chris, I've never seen anyone include so much detailed information about what you are doing as you do this type of content is so useful for the home DIY painter. I noticed your painting technique resembles mine, employing a quick initial layer followed by a slower wet coat, thanks for sharing your skills with us🙏👍John UK
Thanks 👍
I think this video solidified my purchase of that gun! Looks great!
👍
I am really enjoying this gun! Like a premium R500. Lvlp guns are the only compressor guns i'm keeping. It's the most sensible approach in a garage. No sense pretending you can use a fog machine like the boys with the fancy paint booths. Not living in that world. If I had a true paintbooth, would probably have a different point of view.
You got that exactly Right painted with a high dollar gun today won't say which one, but it's a fantastic gun, but a cloud of overspray and it devoured a pint of paint literally almost twice the amount of paint I would use with the lvlp. I can't justify using any other gun.
Hi, so If I could just pick your brains for a second. I have built my own farm from the land up and now I've converted a van into a campervan and did everything to a high standard. I have purchased two of these guns one for primer and one for clear and base coat the same kit you showed in the opening of your video. The guy around the corner is going to spray my camper to the same factory colour. I have purchased all the paint and even the disposable cup system.
I have prepped the whole van to a high standard. But he is adamant that I will have to wet and dry the whoil;e van and the videos I have watched from you and Paint Society. It's not like you are dealing with orange peel all the time, yes maybe here and there and the odd dust spots etc. But this guy is like this is what the whole van will be orange peel and that's that..?
I will be doing in my neighbour new barn which I intend to make a clean space with clear polythene sheet walls so that lots of light can get into the van. It is hot in the UK at the moment not like the US as I have travelled across the west coast and it was crazy hot. But can I just ask is orange peel across the whole van inevitable...?
I feel like he my not be confident in his abilities to create a slick finish. This would raise a red flag for me. I just going off what your telling me but it sounds like with your high standards you should be able to paint it yourself and do a better job.
@@GarageNoise I think so to, I have seen jobs he has done but only wings etc on repaired salvage which my van is also salvage repaired. But I want the paint to be mint otherwise I wouldn't have purchased all the gear which will come in handy down the road as I have other projects lined up and can make a pretty penny off preparing salvage in the UK as insurance right them off for minimal damage like bolt on panel damage etc, that's all mine was and was fixed in a morning.
I have just gone around the whole van and repaired all the scratches and little dings, wet n dry sanded the whole van which took an age lol arms like a 17 year old after that job and don't see why I should need to do the whole van again after paint. Yes if it was the odd bit no problem but the whole van..? I have the bonnet set up in my garage now and put up a clear polyethene wall to keep the area clean. So I am going to have a go myself and see how it goes. I have watched so many videos on the subject from you in your own place to paint society in a proper booth. I know I may make a mistake. But I don't think can be as bad as he is saying. Hopefully yeh got to start somewhere.
Thanks for getting back to me your content is a great really helpful channel and not a show-off type of channel you teach so well and come across as a genuine type of guy. Thanks Craig
Love the content!
Thanks!
I got this gun from your recommendation. awesome gun. thanks for the info.
Awesome! Appreciate the support!
Great video!
Thanks!
Great video live it helps alot
Glad to hear it!
Great job
Thank you!
Always standing out with your videos 📹. Great like always 👍. Question if i want to repair small scratches with touch up paint is there a uv clear coat that you know of that would dry fast enough ?
Great video as always I've never paint a car before but really want to try it. Is it possible to paint and entire car with a lvlp paint gun? If so are there any specific things I'd need to do differently than a conventional paint gun. Thanks so much for the help
Nice job great viedo
Appreciate it brother!
I’ve used almost nothing but R500s since 2015😊😊
👍
Great gun..I bought my 1st spray- it 35000 ten yrs ago, couldn't believe how well it shot paint with a 30 gallon compressor 👍
nice job💯👍
Thanks 💯
I was wondering what brand of mixer and pourer you use for the top of your one gallon paint cans?
Thanks
Looks like the InoKraft comes with a PPS1 adapter - the descriptor on the Sagola Cups says with a range of adapters - so does anyone know if the cups fit the PPS1 adapter or would I need a different type? I've been watching your video's for a while - so thanks! I might have missed but maybe a video on how much paint volume to mix up for base or clear for different sized jobs.
Outstanding video and setting information. We are going to paint a older Tahoe in the detached garage. Your tips will be a big help.
Do you have a fan moving the air away? Looks like minimal overspray.
I have an exhaust fan pulling fumes but you really don't want a fan moving air in a garage when you paint. In a booth it's a different story
Great video! I have the same gun but haven't tried it yet. What fluid tips are you using for primer, base, and clear. I now it comes with the 1.3, 1.5, and 1.7
I use the 1.5 for primer. 1.3 for base and clear coat
Can you link the air hose + fittings that you use?
Can you do a video on mixing paint in cold conditions. In the winter I struggle getting my mix right. 10% thinners seems like way to little. End up using more like 25% to get the paint to come out without peel.
Really, I don't really reduce it any extra in the cold.
Have u tried the rongpeng r830? It's slightly different looking then then updated r500. I also read somewhere that it is infact an updated version of the new r500/a610/yt160/d1
So the d1,yt-160,a610 are the R830 rebranded. I had this wrong previously calling it the R500. They have a great deal on the Rong peng website right now for 49.00 and it comes with the 1.3,1.4,1.5,1.7 and 2.0 tip and needle sets. Great value
Excellent Tutorial! Which yellow tape do you use? Thanks.
amzn.to/4cPWFNO
This is the tape not perfect but inexpensive
I’m not a painter but I bought a R500 lvlp gun and set all the settings like everyone said to and mixed 1:1 base coat and the paint comes out like colored water won’t cover the primer tried to go a little heavier and then it ran dripped on the floor, I don’t know what I’m doing wrong
Hey Chris what size needle and nozzle do you use for the base and clear with the r500 and the indokraft D1
1.3 for both
Sorry for all the questions.
At least they'll help the algorithm.
Love the questions, that's why I do this.
Does your Finish1 clear look kind of chunky orange peel before the flows out? Im always expecting that the clear to be dead flat right away like i see on the videos. I suppose if i waned that to happen a splash of reducer would necessary
I don't use reducer but it would help. Fc710 doesn't come off the gun flat it needs to flow out. Fc720 is better at that but takes longer to cure. Slow activator helps as well
Hey Chris, I know this gun and the yt-160 and the aeropro A610 are all based on the R500 but when you look at the pressure settings, would you say they are basically the same if you switched to one of the others? I’ve got the aeropro and I just bought the yt-160 and I’m curious if there is going to be any real variations between the two
No variation between them. In fact the perts are interchangeable.
Any vids on buffing an adjacent panel if it's duller than the newly cleared panel?
Not specifically on that topic. If it's older paint buff with a med foam pad like orange or white with a med to low cut compound
@@GarageNoise perfect
Hey Chris,
Great video on the gun, can you get a PPS 2.0 adapter for it off Amazon ?
I'm sure I just don't know which one.
Are you changing any gun settings for the later coats(drop coat) like fluid or pressure or just changing the spay technique
I just change technique by increasing distance 1-2 inches
Watching from the uk 🇬🇧 question.... could you tell me what sand paper grades and the best lacquer to use for headlight restoration thanks
600 adhesion promoter and then 2k clear. Spray max makes a great 2k Aerosol clear. Great for headlights
@GarageNoise thanks for replying ill be doin it at weekend
I watch lots of painting videos. That's some good looking clearcoat. What brand is that? Great job!
6:15
amzn.to/3U6pE8D
This is the clear finish1 fc710
Thanks I didn't see 6:15 the first time. I am gonna use some of that clearcoat on my ranger.
Hello. I ordered the Drizzle D1 from your link and just received it. Is it normal for the trigger to fall forward when the gun is tilted forward? I’m just trying to determine if something is missing, as the trigger is different from my other guns.
Not sure, I'll check mine. Did you have it hook to air? If not try that . I don't recall noticing that on mine.
Thoughts on this gun vs the other 60ish dollar one you used about a year ago? the R500?
Pretty much the same gun. Bothe are great the older R500 uses a little less air but that's the only difference
I’ve done a little painting in the past, so I’m not a total beginner, but I have a question about something I’ve never done…I want to paint the roof of my 2015 Mustang GT gloss black. The paint is really perfect in every way, every ceramic coated. What’s the best way to prep paint that is like this for paint to cover it?
Clean it real well isopropyl alcohol and prep sol. Then I would buff it with an pretty aggressive compound. Then clea it again and sand with 600. Then you should be good to seal and paint or just paint and clear. Ceramic coating can be tough to remove.
Awesome, thank you
So what size air compressor would a guy need to spray with one of these LVLP guns?
I've seen complete paint jobs done with this gun and a 30 gallon compressor that produces 6 cfm.
What compressor did you use and what cfm does it have for that gun
I use a ingersoll rand produces 16 cfm. There's a discrepancy in the air consumption. I believe it to be around 7 cfm
Any vids or recommendation on a mini gun?
I have one on the Sagola mini Xtreme. It's a high quality gun but not cheap. Astro make a good touch up gun and reasonably priced.
ruclips.net/user/shortsoxEldzFvTOA?feature=share
Here's a short on the sagola
@@GarageNoise excellent I'll go with an ASTRO. Through your Amazon store.
@@silvercommandersp-33500 is the mini version of this gun. I was very happy with the results. I was amazed at how well it atomized my clear coat.
@@Kaclaytor 🤜🏼💥🤛🏼
Can you primer with an lvlp I haven't seen anyone on here do that yet.
Oh yeah my favprimer gun is a first gen R500 with a 1.5 tip
This gun VS the 610 which do you like best ?
Same gun, other that the color . This one cleans up better and I like the looks better.
I followed all your steps but got wrinkles that appeared like spider webs! Please help! Love you content
Wrinkles in clear? Sounds like a chemicle reaction. Send me pics at garagenoise247@gmail.com I'll take a look.
Any videos on single stage using lvlp
No, but single stage spays alot like clear . The most important thing with single stage is to apply a lite coat first before you apply a medium second coat.
If you check out Petes hobbies he shows all these guns up against the high dollar guns its a great channel very informative.
Good channel!!
I've seen his videos good content.
How would you compare the Innocraft Drizzle D1 to the Aeropro R500 LVLP A610?
Same gun, I perfer the looks of the Inokraft and the coating. It cleans up alot better.
@@GarageNoise Had to do a little more homework: Air Consumption
R500/A610 3.0-3.9 CFM
and D1 is 9.7-10.2CFM
@@clark7117 Those R500/A610 use more CFM and PSI than the manufacturers claim to lay a good coat of clear. I recall 2.5 Bar/36 psi and 5-7 CFM. Watch Peter Hobbies. He goes into details on those guns.
👍🏾👍🏾👍🏾👍🏾👍🏾
👊
Finish 1 is made by sherwin williams it's a good spot clear
👍
I have been spraying Funish 1 for many years. I have contact with a Mustang I painted 20 years ago and it's still beautiful in the Florida Sun.
Chris so you don't use the kiwami anymore? It looks like you speak of these lvlp guns alot.
I still like the kiwami 4 alot. I don't get a chance to use it as much. I think the lvlp guns are more suited in my situation with no paint booth. I'll break it out for some videos soon.
@GarageNoise man you got me thinking now. Which is the best lvlp you are using for clear? I am interested for clear as my DV1 makes a huge cloud
This or the black widow 🤔?
I have a black widow.
I've been considering this one.
Air isn't a concern, have a 60-gallon compressor
Is the supplied regulator with the drizzle good?
I really like it for the price especially.
Is this gun the same as the 610?
Yes, same gun
Because you use less air and waste less material, is it slower?? Is that why you are painting panels separately??
I don't feel like it's slower maybe a touch. It just depends how you spray I can spray fast with it by changing techniques. That's not why I did fenders separately tho.
Is it slower?
I really don't find it to be that much slower all depends on how you spray.
