Had a 69 142 that would always start. Lived where we had a lot of -40 mornings and if I could get two rotations out of it it would start. Might sound like a Cesna at that point but it would always start

Was it runing on gasoline or lpg?

I have a 69 or 70 142 that always starts with full choke but if you let it die on choke then it will not start until you wait long time

I would love to see you start it when its really cold without using any choke.

I have a 144 delux from 1974, automatic without a tachometer, it has an OEM replacement motor so.o think it's a little newer than the one it came with. Not sure what the motor is though
