Book is ordered! You are ADDICTIVE! I’m a 72 yr old Gramma with a 16 yr old vegan granddaughter! I can do this and cook deliciously for her! I’m excited! Oh! Just bought a spiralizer because I LOVE “pasta!” (Zucchini)
This is awesome. Thank you for being so open minded. My grandma tried to 'sneak' ham into my food when I first went vegetarian because she didnt understand it and didnt want to understand it.
Me!.. it's a challenge because of all the brainwashing and denial in the past but it's absolutely insane! what humans are doing to innocent animals and the 2nd best part of is feeling better and healthier plus vegans are very peaceful compassionate people!
I’m not vegan but want to go vegan and little by little eliminating foods. I’ve always found food advertisements disgusting. Double quarter pound cheese burgers or whatever there called with bacon. No wonder we have a obesity crisis along with all the health problems.
That’s me! I’m in the beginning phases of my self love journey. I’ve been being pulled away from a lot my favorite foods. This journey will create a happier, healthier me. I am so excited!
Mochi Mo I’m 13 as well and I’ve been currently vegetarian for more than 3 months now and I feel amazing!!’ I want to become a vegan but it’s expensive and I don’t want to stress out my mom too much lol.
You are a huge inspiration to my 11yr old daughter, Joy. She is a twin and no one else in the family is vegan. She has been vegan since August and is doing a great job staying motivated and on track. Non of the non vegan foods we have at home has ever tempted her. She is the one who got me to start watching your videos. Thank you so much for being a great role model and keep up the great work.
Vegan fella here 🙋🏽♂️my friend sent me your RUclips channel and I’m happy she did. It’s good to see a beautiful, black, vegan woman sharing knowledge about veganism! Keep up the great content.
Veganizedbydre why does it matter what color she is? Do you see color when you look at someone? Hmmm... Not good! I just see a beautiful woman with a beautiful heart sharing her beautiful knowledge..
Fallen Angel as a black women, I support what he’s saying. Why do we have to pretend like we don’t see color in this beautiful color filled world? It’s particularly important in this context because most of us (black people) come from a culture of soul food. Which is not always healthy. So when other black people come across a video like this seeing a black woman eating this way and promoting this type of lifestyle it’s inspiring.
Super Simple Shalieah all I'm saying is why do people need to be seen by the color of their skin... Idk... Maybe I'm just not normal cuz I could careless what color a person is.. That doesn't make them who they are as a whole person..
@@fallenangel3460 I agree with you when you say, "That doesn't make them who they are as a whole person." You are absolutely right. But, it is A PART of who we are. I see color when I look at people. I'm not blind or colorblind. I can't help but see color. There's nothing wrong with such. And, when you say, "...I couldn't care less what color a person is..." I believe you're saying skin color doesn't affect the way you PERCEIVE people. And, it shouldn't. Again, I agree with you. However, I see nothing wrong with seeing and acknowledging a person's skin color. It's when one perceives himself to be better than another person based on skin color that I see a problem. It's wrong!
@@shalieah My thoughts exactly. It is important to recognize a black woman cooking healthy food. Usually its stout women cooking soulfood. Yes it tastes good but is it healthy!?
Greetings all. I was once vegan for about 5 years. Then I stopped. One of the biggest reasons was NO SUPPORT. Everywhere I went there was nothing for me to eat and enjoy. Now I have started my journey again and I’m so happy to have a channel like this. This channel helps to guide you and shows you tasty vegan meal to keep you on track. I also like the information on supplements. Keep up the wonderful work my sister! Thanks again.

Awesome! I was vegan for a year about 10 years ago and now I’ve returned this year! So happy to be back but I’m so surprised how much more products are available in stores or even fast food restaurants, the support is crazy now!
Just started vegan 2 days ago! One day at a time! I want my health improve and there are so many things I want from this! Father God help me! Holy Spirit Lead me!
carla borens ..YHWH The Tetragrammaton, is the four-letter Hebrew word יהוה, the name of the biblical God of Israel.. Learn him!!! The whole world has been deceived to believe that he is a certain type of way that is not true... He is a God of war & Is only God to Israel which are the Negroes who lost their identity during the Atlantic slave trade and the Sahara slave trade they were Israelites who fled into Africa in 70AD After getting off the ships their names and identity was stripped away from them and they were giving new names and identities. The aka WHITE PEOPLES ,Africans and Arabs and all the other races who put the Negroes in slavery they’re forefathers knew that the negro people were Israelites speaking in the Hebrew language at that time It was no secret that the Israelites were black!! these are all facts I dare you to do your research all the evidence that you find will come from European and Caucasians & Jewish sources because yes the Jew-ish people know that they are NOT the Israelites of the Bible! They were put in the land of Israel and converted into a formed religion of another mans nationality what we know today as Judaism... salvation is only for Israelites the LAW was only given to Israelites they are the only people who can break the law because they’re God made a blood covenant with their forefather Abraham it has nothing to do with everyone else Jacob seed was chosen
You seem well intentioned but this is the worst thing you could do to your body. And in a few years if you make it that far your body will have deteriorated. This is only beneficial for a very short time if you had a really unhealthy diet before hand. You’ll experience brain fog, you’ll begin to be cold all the time, your hair will fall out become thin, you can start to bruise easier. Your lips will turn grey, your skin will no longer glow and will have a jaundice look, you’ll be farting gassy and always be using the restroom, your oral health will deteriorate, brittle teeth, yellowing if the teeth, it’s just an awful way to live. Eating excess amounts of plants and vegetables is literally TOXIC for the body and shouldn’t be consumed at this amount. ): ugh I just feel so terrible for people who fall for this. Research anti nutrients in vegetables all those salads you think you need. Oxalates, lechtin, phytates. Also that almond milk you’ll drink calcify’s the body. Research it. Too many plants over time at these amounts can lead to kidney stones. You will be deficient in SO many nutrients. The bioavailability of those “supplements” really isn’t there. Vitamins on the market are marketing scams. Do blood tests and see how all those expensive supplements are doing nothing for your body majority of the time. Start to research places that show vegan deterioration. Look at before and after vegan side by side photos. There’s no making this stuff up and it’s not because “Is they did it wrong” no it’s because naturally it’s not what you’re supposed to eat. Ask why our body’s have a carnivores digestive track and not four chambers to digest plants like say a cow and other enzymes naturally to break down grass plants like ox and other muscular plant eating animals. We are going against biology when we eat only plants. Watch yourselves become bloated all the time , retain excess water or over long periods of time just look like a stick. Of course these vegans will never say any of this. Educate yourself before you deteriorate and then take the advice after you’ve wasted away.
a vegan who recommends taking b12 on youtube? truly a blessing edit: a vegan that knows that conventionally farmed food is okay to consume? amazing!! subbed!
I haven't started yet. I'm slightly disabled so depend on the household a lot. I've started eating chia with oat milk for breakfast but haven't veganised my whole diet. When we have rice, I'll add extra lentils, spinach and other sides to my rice instead of the meat curry. Its hard checking everyday items are vegan. Cookies and chocolate especially.
I'm prescatarian, and maybe I'll go full vegan soon. I still don't eat eggs or dairy products. It has been fun so far learning new recipes. Planning is key, because my husband and kids are not so I meal prep separate meals.
mercutio246 anthony nope! im 2 months in and i’ve lost 10 pounds without really trying and i feel so much lighter when i eat! i feel great overall really :)
My meal plan tip if you are changing your whole lifestyle is not just to make a meal in bulk but rather bulk prep ingredients so they can be changed up... And learn at least 5 meals and learn them well so if you feel a bit off- you can default to a meal you know you enjoy. And with your ingredients ready to go you can throw it all together and avoid take out.
A budget tip I like to do is to ADD ONE NEW ITEM each month or payday, to the cupboards or pantry. That way it's not overwhelmingly expensive all at once and it ends up lasting longer to have something on hand and it never gets boring because there's always something NEW. Keeps you from eating out so much $$ also😋😇😄 Hope this tip helps stir up some culinary creativity, Healthy and Fun Vegan Style.
I was wondering I was going to start and not break my bank at the same time. Thanks for this tip I usually give a thumbs up for good comments but this was a well deserved response. Thanks again for this light bulb thoughts

This video made me very emotional for some reason. She is gorgeous and there’s something in her voice and how she explains that makes this so easy to comprehend. I’ve been thinking about going vegan for a couple of years but never went through with it.. I guess now is the time :))
I've been Vegan now for 2yrs.2020 is my 3rd yr.. Don't miss meat at all. I Have more energy than ever. Turning 42 but looks like Im in my early 30's..love plantbased food.. Good luck to all of you. You can do it xx
Celaena Odd I gone allready with my kids. My husband is turkish and is so, so hard. All his family they eat meat, and my husband same. They saing i went mental😅 They don’t know how healthy is to be vegan.
Be careful, that can very rapidly lead to a deficiency in vitamins, essential fatty and amino acids, and even minerals. A vegan junk diet is JUNK, the animals are not gonna thank you for not eating them, and it’s only gonna hurt yourself. So please go mainly WFPB, then you can sustain your vegan diet, and never have to go back to eating animal products! Good Luck!
Benjamin Iskander ... it’s important to realize though that eating Oreos and other food considered to be vegan DOES NOT make you vegan. Veganism is much more than that because veganism IS NOT about food diet and health. Sure a better health IS ONE of the great benefits of veganism but that’s not what veganism is about. Veganism is solely about the animals aka refraining from living a lifestyle that contributes to animal cruelty and that’s not in just what you eat it’s also in what you wear, entertainment that includes animals such as circus, zoos etc, products you buy that test on animals until they die and the list goes on. To understand what veganism is REALLY about please watch this: ruclips.net/video/LQRAfJyEsko/видео.html
You know. I am 2 years in and I STILL find it difficult sometimes. It drives me nuts that people say it's too expensive. I support me AND my husband for approximately $6/hr. If I can do it, anyone can do it! It's not easy, but nothing worthwhile ever is! Their are SO MANY Facebook groups you can join. I joined a bunch, and then weeded out the ones I wasn't a big fan of over time.
The Discount Vegan way to go!! Life can be unkind, but your kindness toward animals and a better planet more than makes up for it. You are a rockstar. Keep you head up! You are a winner.

I’m going vegan. Starting my transition in January 2022, just educating myself and preparing myself mentally. I’ve desired for a few years now to become vegan ❤️
I'm not a vegan.....yet ;) I'm wanting to go Vegan in 2019. I struggle with lack of support. I have no vegan friends or family. I am determined. So right now I'm just waiting YT video tips like crazy !!!
we'll stick together! i'm definitely in the same situation. you can do it though. just remember you're doing it for yourself, but you're also doing it to stand up for animal cruelty, and the environment
Vanessa McLean isupport your deserve to transition! I’m in the same situation. I have a whole family. Husband and kids and they ARE NOT! I still cook for them as I have been, but make something different for myself. It’s so funny because my husband has been looking up vegan places to take me to and he has enjoyed the foods as well. Please try it! You will feel 💯 better. Drink plenty of water and take supplements and your skin will be beautiful! I can tell the difference in my skin. It’s not an overnight transition, but a beautiful journey! I started Jan 1 2019! Good luck to you!
I'm laughing so hard. In my head I was thinking “I don't know if I can give up chicken and cheese“ and she specifically mentioned chicken and cheese alternatives. Lol! I get it God. Go vegan, I'm on it. Lol
Girl I feel like you were speaking directly to me with this one 👏🏾 You had the perfect response to ALL my excuses 😂 Just pre-ordered your book! Can’t wait to get it 🤗🤗
How’s it going? Have you started the transition yet? I’m only a few weeks in and am growing board with my limited vegan dishes. I’m thinking about ordering the book as well. 😊
It’s almost 2020 and I’m gonna go vegan. I’m 13 btw. Going vegan would really help my weight, acne, and attitude. I’ve always wanted to go vegan. This video was really helpful and I love how she got straight to the point :)
You are a perfect advert for veganism. You positively glow with health. I went vegan in November last year and I'm having a problem with waves of fatigue. I'm wondering if it's the B12.
Mark Andrew Nordstrom Thanks, Mark, but I feel great now I have my supplements sorted, and I did primarily do it for the animals, so until I hear an orange scream as it's being cut in half, they will be my priority.😉
Mark Andrew Nordstrom You've really got me wrong, Mark. I don't consider myself above meat eaters in the least. I was one for 22 years. I've simply made a personal choice that means I'm no longer contributing to the pain and suffering of other sentient beings. Your antagonism is uncalled for. What other people choose to eat is really none of my business.
I went to a steak restaurant once with my dad and a friend of his. The friend knew the chef and asked if we could have a vegetarian meal made for me (sorry). He made zucchini milanesa a la napolitana. It's hands down the most delicious meal I've had, and it was a vegetarian meal at a steak house. Just be polite and ask nicely.
@@Jessica-hj7zv I agree! I've just began prescatarian minus eggs and dairy in December. I feel great already, and my indigestion and heartburn has improved tremendously.
I started being vegan about a week ago and I just cheated. 😩 instead of kicking myself, I’m getting inspired to try something new tomorrow! Thank you for being so inspiring! Hoping to become completely vegan by the summer
Never kick yourself for cheating, and just keep on trying! Even if you're vegan 98% of the time, the animals and the planet are still benefiting from your effort. :)
Girl! I'm a new subscriber here but I'm a southerner just like you! I'm gonna have to go through your videos because I am here for the vegan collards, vegan mac n cheese, and vegan cornbread 😊💛. Sending love from NC!!!
My wife and I are currently transitioning to a plant-based diet. I'm watching a ton of videos, and looking for recipes. Like you, I'm southern and grew up eating a diet based heavily on meats, especially fried meats. I've always been a bacon and eggs in the morning kind of person. I'm nearly a week in now and I must say I can feel the waist getting slimmer and I do have more energy. But most of all, I feel more emotionally balanced. Thank you for this video. Your enthusiasm is absolutely contagious!!
You are so beautiful and this was so helpful I actually talked my meat eater husband into wanting to try going vegan, and all 4 of my kids 11 And under made vision boards and going vegan full time was on all of them!!!! Time to start making it happen
Kayla Austin I recommend getting chia seeds, flax seeds, and maybe if you want to, hemp seeds. But chia seeds has all the omegas in it, helps with cramps and you can even make pudding with it. You can put them in a smoothie, they don't taste like anything and (atleast where I live) they are inexpensive. There all high in iron, fiber and protein.
My most favorite vegan ever ♥️ 😊. I love and appreciate the time you take to share your knowledge and always can feel your positive energy radiate through.
Love how you talk about looking into the history of our cultural food and finding that a lot of it is plantbased. Just wonderful to make an even more original version!
Subbed. The best part about these videos is 3 years 4 years and beyond its helping new people like myself. I grew up vegetarian and some vegan and then I moved out of my parents and had to figure out for myself that the other options weren't very great for general health and well being... I've decided to return to the lifestyle at 30 years old, 12 years after originally leaving. I guess time got away from me and so did my health. I'm really happy to return! Thanks for the video. Things have indeed changed from 12 years ago! Lol it seems a lot better now.
I have PCOS and I'm EXTREMLY OVER WEIGHT! 187 pounds on a 5'2 frame is not healthy what so ever! my mom recently passed away due to a stroke at 46 (way to young) I was 23 when she passed! I've been worried about my health over the passed 5 years, losing my mom topped the cake for me. I have a 5 year old who was born premature, I want to be healthy and HAPPY! I also want my child to be healthy and HAPPY! So, I sat down and watched What The Health with my little family. We are starting our plant based diet and actually tried out a meal last night. I'm so ready for this! No more hormone meats, I'm aiming to lose 30 lbs but more importantly I'm aiming to have a healthy family. 😍😍😍😍
How's it going for you? I'm in a very similar situation as you health wise and I'm ready to jump in head first. I'm at the point that I'm tired of chewing😖. I was ready to try a liquid diet for awhile- but I don't think that will be my healthiest option. Please share your experience thus far. I'm sending positive vibes to you and your family.
@@melibow2003 Chewing actually stimulates an enzyme (?) that's really good for digestion. That's why it's better to eat a cup of spinach rather than drink a smoothie with the exact same amount of spinach mixed in. It also makes you feel more satisfied psychologically. I personally feel really unsatisfied after a smoothie, even a huge one with the same amount of oats, banana, and almond milk as what I'd eat in porridge.
It's weird I'm naturally going vegan, about a year ago every time I eat meat my stomach hurts and I feel nauseous. First I eliminated pork and red meat but it's still happening. I'm not a big meat eater but I do enjoy seafood. I'm going to try and go vegan and see how my body feels.
lovelylivin30 dumeny this has been happening to me too these last few months. I think it’s after I had done some serious 3-day fasts. Reintroducing foods into my diet had to be done cautiously and gradually but so far I think my body is still rejecting the meats. Even consuming milk, cheese and eggs have proven to be a problem. This is why I’ve started researching Veganism.
lovelylivin30 dumeny this has also been my problem. Started my vegan journey a week ago. Lost 4 lbs in 3 days and my husband beg me to do keto with him, after 2 days I returned to the Vegan way of eating and I’m satisfied with it.💞
I made the BEST vegan bulgogi today. I used leeks/green onions, sweet onion, portobello and some other mushrooms, soy sauce and rice vinegar as a marinade, and added 5 cloves of garlic and a knob of grated ginger, Then I fried it with a little oil and added a little flour as the marinate cooked so it made a really thick sauce and holy shiiiitt it was good. A made a shit ton and ate it all with some rice within an hour. I’d suggest adding some water or just oil to the marinade though because it was a little too flavorful and I almost got out of breath eating it.
I go a long time without eating meat because it hurts my gut when I do. I gave up dairy for the same reasons. So I try to eat mainly vegan. I just learned I have to eat a reflux diet so, out with a lot of the good taste. I have to rethink how I eat for the health of my gut. These foods look so good but I can't have all of them.
B. Christine Eggs were literally the first thing I dropped and recently got my mom to go off them too. They're disgusting hun. Once you understand what they are and how bad they are for you, you'll ditch em. Good luck! You can do it!😊
What do you love most about eggs? I have found tofu scrambled can taste a lot like scrambled eggs there is also an egg sub that looks just like over easy eggs and deviled eggs
J Shanko I was looking for a vegetarian buffet and googled Govinda and a Ethiopian vegetarian place called Rahel Ethiopian Vegan cuisine...I haven't tried any of these places yet....I do frequent Awash on Pico though.
Thank you so much!! I'm obsessed with vegan Ethiopian. It's definitely my favorite. I am so blessed to live in such a beautiful and vegan friendly place. Come visit soon!!
When she started talking about ethnic vegan restaurant Asla Ethiopian Vegan came to my mind so I was happy she gave it a shout out. I eat there at least once a week
Shannon Nicole If that's the case then start by being a vegetarian. Then when you go out to eat or are looking up recipes, start noticing how you can veganize them. Learn what you can replace eggs and dairy with. And try out some fully vegan recipes at home every once in a while so you have some comfort foods. Then, once you've researched, it won't seem as scary! Then you can finish your transition and feel way more prepared. Trust me, it seems like the cravings won't ever go away but they will. I went vegan overnight and the first 2 weeks were the hardest, but after that, I never craved it again and it smells terrible to me now. You can do this! (;
I’ve been a vegetarian for 4 years, now transitioning to vegan! Don’t rush yourself. I always said do it in your own time, it’s better to take a while to get there and stick with it, than to rush it and start over and over again! Good luck👍🏻👍🏻
I remember this! I wasn't vegan when I first found your channel but I am now and you were one of the first people to inspire me. The first vegan recipe I EVER made on purpose was your sweet potato biscuits. Thank you, you are changing lives! 🍠🍠🍠
I was fasting for prayer, and went a week on the Daniel fast. I got all kinds of imitation cheese, sausage, and whatever I could find. I have to eat a lot to build muscle, and I had no clue what to get. I was shocked to find that I loved all the food I got. I always thought it wouldn't taste good, but it was actually better. I have been just eating a ton of beans for protein. There was a part of the bible where Daniel ate a diet of Pulse or basically beans, and compared his men to the men of the Pharoah who were eating the meat. Daniel, and his men looked better at the end of the contest. I didn't know what pulse was, but decided to look it up. I do not trust any food today, especially animal products. I personally would have no problem eating meat if I could trust it. The sad thing is that I can't fully trust any food. I am happy to find that the healthier I eat, the better it seems to taste.
0.65g per pound of LEAN body weight is all that you need. For most people, they only going to need 120g of protein a day at the very most for bodybuilding. You can get that easily with beans, nuts, and lentils. :) Good luck!
I literally just made my mind up today that I’m going plant base diet! So I’m here on RUclips searching for recipes and I came across your channel. I subscribe right away. I think my first year is going to be hard, but I hope I keep at it and get through, my biggest fear is that I’ll be craving meat... but this is it for me, my stomach literally reals sick when I was eating today and I said to myself, yup it’s time to go completely plant base diet.
I went vegetarian last month and honestly yours is the first video I have seen that makes me believe maybe I could even take the plunge to vegan. At least cut out dairy for sure. Thank you for the inspiration. I look forward to getting more into vegan cooking as the journey continues

Brianna Giron It IS very disturbing but going against our biology will deteriorate your body slowly but surely. Research a cage free free pastured raised farm and buy directly from them! Their farms don’t pollute like the big industry, their chickens are loved , product takes better than market. Cutting this out completely even if you’re not going to eat meat fine but atleast getting EHA DHA from eggs and Vitamin D is soooooo vital for your health girl. Having to “supplement” these things and more is just big company bs and isn’t natural for our bodies anyway. The bioavailability isn’t there.
I just ordered your cookbook as Christmas gifts. One sister is vegan, the other a dietitian, and I’m transitioning to vegan/whole food plant based. I ordered 3… I love your content ❤️
It’s getting so much easier becoming vegan because of many well-known grocery stores (especially in Toronto) carrying vegan alternatives for meat and cheese, I was a full blown meat-eater until I completely cut out animal products one day, out of the blue. I have since been fully plant-based for 4 months now and my boyfriend has been vegan for a year and a half. Everything you said in your video was spot on! I loved when you mentioned vitamins and supplements. In my first few months of being vegan, I got many questions about iron-deficiency. Then one day I mentioned I went plant-based to my family doctor and I got blind-sighted with a random blood test to see my iron levels. Lo and behold, iron levels were excellent. As long as you stick with good healthy whole foods, deficiencies should not be a problem. My parents often wanted to bad-talk veganism because they bought the whole thing about veganism leading to deficiency in most, if not all, vitamins and that the only source for iron, protein, and Vitamin B12 were from animal products and/or by-products. When in fact, nuts, legumes, non-dairy milk, soy products, and more carry an abundant amount of that already. I find that people buy into these rumours to justify not going vegan and/or living a healthy lifestyle even after explaining and educating the benefits of going plant-based. But that’s just my vegan journey so far. Thank you for using your platform in giving veganism a good name and giving quality advice to vegan beginners. Its truly possible, this is coming from someone who is from a filipino family that ate meat as if its the only thing grocery stores sold. Completely doable 🌱
I have been contemplating veganism for a lil while now...I am a type 2 diabetic & recently contracted Covid which ended up in hospitalization and 4 month down the line in still not at 💯. Inflammation fatigue and severe hair loss. I have to say this video is very inspiring and the info makes me feel I can do it even though I come from a Caribbean Latino cuisine background. Your personality is so inviting thank you for sharing! God bless you !❣️
Very informative! Thank you me and my husband are going Vegan after watching The Game Changers. Lucky me I have a lot of Vegan friends that can help me. I’ll be checking your cook book out.
New subscriber! I just transitioned to vegan for 2 weeks now mostly for weight loss & i never thought i’d love eating this way. i feel so happy, it’s actually easy to let go of those foods like chicken etc, when you want to do it. Especially after watching “What the health”🤢
My biggest problem is eating out 😩. I eat vegan at home most of the time (except some cheese here or there which I’m slowly weeding out.) you know how hard it can be to get good vegan food in the south (Kingsport TN) but when I go somewhere I literally starve. I don’t live in a very vegan friendly place so pretty much everywhere I go isn’t vegan friendly.
Jackson Catlett I’m not from the US but I understand the struggle with eating out. I try and avoid it but sometimes it’s not that simple, like she said eating before and eating a vegan side at the restaurant, or if visiting friends or family then bring your own food.
Jackson Catlett I’m from Nashville and we only have a couple truly vegan places in this big city! It’s hard especially with people who aren’t vegan wanting to go to the nasty steakhouse but what I do is ask the waiter what they can make vegan but sometimes I end up having a plain potato cuz watching people chew on a bloody steak grosses me out anyways
Call ahead. Generally, kitchen staff like the challenge of cooking for special diets, especially if the ingredients are simple: Vegetables, beans, grains, starches, and fruits that the restaurant should already have; even a bad diner will have some non-processed plant foods in the back cooler. If given advance warning, the kitchen should be able to accommodate you.
Heather Holt lol Kingsport is horrible for vegans. I’ve never seen a vegan restaurant in Tennessee in my entire life (only been to Nashville once a long time ago). There used to be one vegan restaurant here and as soon as I started experimenting with veganism (I’m a vegetarian already) shut down literally the day I heard of it. Asheville NC is really vegan friendly though and only an hour drive so at least I can eat out vegan every once in a while.
Bummer! But it is certainly changing in lots of the south. Are there any ethnic cuisines that you like? Ethnic restaurants are usually more accomodating for vegan diets. When eating at indian restaurants I specify that I'm "vegetarian" and do not eat any dairy, so they can make my dish without ghee. Same at Mexican restaurants. At Thai just ask them to hold the fish sauce and egg (if you order pad thai). Chinese is usually easy. Good luck!
I am so glad I stumbled on your channel, you vegan ideas are so simple, but so genuine. It’s pretty crazy. The positive energy you radiate is contagious, this might be my favorite U-tube video. So great, thanks again!
MalikMahdi23 And in a few years if you make it that far your body will have deteriorated.
Girl you should be on TV!! I could listen to you all day. You are truly talented; presenter, host, TV personality, whatever! You were meant to talk/connect/teach people, you're obviously doing that now and I in no way mean to down play your RUclips channel but you're definitely meant for the big screen. I'm so putting that out there to the universe, 2020 let this be your year or however long it may take. I hope you see it too, and don't wait for it, go get what's yours. Faith is in action!! 😙
Not to be funny but do Vegans not typically practice gardening to help with food supply or costs? A LOT of leafy greens are pretty easy to grow. Also you DON'T have to have a huge amount of space to do it. Even if you live in an apartment you could do a self sustaining 5 gallon barrel/container garden. One that size will allow you to grow approximately 26 crops in a 3x3 area. You just need access to sunlight & a LOT of leafy greens are shade tolerant so you just need a good 4-5 hours of light. Hope this helps those looking to save on cost & have peace of mind of what's in their food. Oh & you DON'T have to buy seeds. Just harvest from what you eat if you'd like.
I agree with you . I grow my own vegetables and try to cut down the meat to become a vegan as soon . I bought organic leafy in supermarket ,it's sooo expensive . Thanks for your reccommend
I agree with you! I grow my leafy greens - kale, silver beet, Chinese greens, spring onions, tomatoes, mint, oregano, coriander, thyme and dill - on my apartment deck. ORGANIC, yummy and great to share with others 😊
❤❤ best comment ever.. Like people cry about the saving the animals but cant even start like a small herb farm or anything to contribute..its like bye.
Thank you for your video it was awesome. After watching “What the Health” 3 times I know I need to change my diet. I have severe inflammatory osteoarthritis in both knees, both shoulders, and my right hip. My pain is off the charts. Sometimes I’m good but the majority of the days I’m using a cane or my walker and to me this is ridiculous. My body feels like an 80 year old person and it’s unbearable. I’m much to young for all this pain I’m having. I NEED this whole plant based regimen to take back my life. I have young kids and I can’t do the activities I desire. I can’t run my own errands; I’m having to ask people to do things for me. I need URGENT help 😢😢😞. I’m willing and ready to make this change to regain my life back. I just need the support.
Summer So Lovely. ... awwwwso sorry for all you going through health-wise. I’m glad you watched “what the health?” That’s like God calling out to help you. Also after watching “Dominion” I’m convinced that the failing health a lot of people endure is karma for eating and wearing Gods precious animals which contributes to THE MOST HORRIFIC animal cruelty EVER. So I agree adopting a vegan lifestyle is best. I pray for you sweety ❤️
Miriam Schiro good morning Queen, I appreciate and thank you so much for getting back with me. It means more than you ever know. I appreciate all your encouragement 🌸😊😇😘🤗
This video was so helpful. I feel like most RUclipsr vegans alienate their audiences by showcasing the most elaborate, exotic, expensive foods making veganism seem elitist and unattainable. This video was down to earth and relatable. Thank you
I've been vegetarian my whole life. Went vegan for about 2 months. It was hard and expensive lol . Thanks for this video the cookbook is defiantly needed
For me, it only got expensive when I was buying pre-made vegan cheeses & meats; learning how to make my own has saved me so much $$ plus is q lot healthier in general with less chemicals/production! It did take trial and error tho to find burger / cheese recipes that tasted comparable to pre-made vegan ones!
I’ve been vegan for 3 months and your video hit a lot of my concerns on the nail! I appreciate the information that you’re putting out for us newbies and prospective vegans 😭👏🏽
Since I'm still young and I don't really control much of what I eat, I plan on focusing on reducing my meat intake and increasing my vegs and fruits. That way, even if in the future I end up going full vegan, I can still do my best. Some people think going vegan has to be all or nothing. I say it's still awesome that you reduce your meat intake, since it's better than just giving up and not doing anything
Txx rare watch Dominion on RUclips it’s about how animals are tortured and made into food. Its all hidden camera footage and it was the push I needed to become completely vegan
Thank you for this video. I am not a vegetarian or vegan, but 90% of my diet is vegetarian. I am considering substituting the diary slowly. I've done it in the past and I lacked calcium and had some serious dental bills. But I started taking a supplement. I however love eating like a Vegan or Vegetarian, because the food is simply good. Have a great weekend! :)
Good luck on your journey! Dairy is very bad for your health and worse for the animals! You can do it, you have all our support :) and tons of amazing recipes on YT obvs
"Dairy depletes calcium" It's the lactic acid in dairy. The levels aren't quite as bad coming out of the cow, but a lot of dairy products -(cheeses, sour creams, cottage cheese etc.) have more concentrated amounts of lactic acid which gives it it's sharp flavor. This acid load must be neutralized within the body by an alkaline source. Calcium (bones) is the most plentiful alkaline source in the body. This is how dairy products leech back most of their calcium benefit. By having to neutralize the acid that it beings into the body with it.
key1152003 I'm also nearly 6 months into being VEGAN. People often question me and don't quite understand me. They say to me a lot "Oh it's COS veganism is fashionable nowadays". I do it for the animals and don't care what people think anymore.
This is so sweet!
You’re sweet!!
Aww you're so sweet
This is awesome. Thank you for being so open minded. My grandma tried to 'sneak' ham into my food when I first went vegetarian because she didnt understand it and didnt want to understand it.
You are an amazing Grandma/person
Who else is going vegan 2020🌿❤️
Edit: btw tysm :>
Sinai meeee 🙋🏾♀️🙋🏾♀️🙋🏾♀️
@Marie Michaels wow right during the holidays?! Good luck!
Same here right before the holidays 😄
Me!.. it's a challenge because of all the brainwashing and denial in the past but it's absolutely insane! what humans are doing to innocent animals and the 2nd best part of is feeling better and healthier plus vegans are very peaceful compassionate people!
That's the goal but we'll see. Will test drive on some of our cultural recipes. Altering it to the vegan side and if it taste good, it's a go.
Your skin is flawless n it's naturally glowing...if this vegan life giving you this glow...im 100% sold
Scenia S pretty much😉
Scenia S That’s one of the benefits of going vegan ?
QUANTAVIOUS EDWARDS yep! My skin has cleared a lot
Diary, carbs and processed sugar are huge creators of breakouts. Especially diary.
Most vegans I've met or seen has that glow.
My first week vegan 🥰 I've found that limiting TV time is a mandatory necessity.. bcuz the advertisement and commercialism of unhealthy food is Real..
Storm for real it’s so bad how you can’t escape ads .
I got food poisoning from a McDonald’s burger now I’m trying to never eat meat 😭😹😹😹
I’m not vegan but want to go vegan and little by little eliminating foods. I’ve always found food advertisements disgusting. Double quarter pound cheese burgers or whatever there called with bacon. No wonder we have a obesity crisis along with all the health problems.
ruclips.net/video/b0uA4SaCOnE/видео.html
The ads that picture meat you can just see all the grease on them, who wants to be eating all that greasy food
Who else is going through a spiritual journey and wanna know what to eat to be vegan 😭💀
LMAOO that’s me 😭😭
Same. The only meat I eat rn is chicken, but something has just been telling me to go vegetarian or vegan and I just can’t explain it
That’s me! I’m in the beginning phases of my self love journey. I’ve been being pulled away from a lot my favorite foods. This journey will create a happier, healthier me. I am so excited!
Lmao me 3!!🌬🌬
Me too!!! I'm doing a Dsniel Fast beginning sept 1
I'm 13 and I have decided to help save the planet so in 2019 I'm going Vegan! 🌿🌿
Good for you!
Mochi Mo I’m 13 as well and I’ve been currently vegetarian for more than 3 months now and I feel amazing!!’ I want to become a vegan but it’s expensive and I don’t want to stress out my mom too much lol.
Rosa Petals yeah I told them and we are going to go shopping soon!
hi 😂 same
Hey! I’m also 13 and vegan 😌. Been vegetarian for 2 years and then one day woke up and decided to go vegan haha
Oh and another thing, if you’re switching to veganism, spices are the key! I have so many organic spices and herbs.
That is great.
which ones are your faves?
Yep, vegan food is so much more flavorful than meat based dishes simply because most people season meat with a ton of salt & pepper. So boring.
Haha the key to me even thinking about changing was making sure hot sauce was a go.
Yes because without covering everything up it tastes like shit.
@Charlie •-• :D
Impressive for a 11 yo
Is she not just breathtaking 🥰😍 ugh
Yes, cute as hell
She is Beautiful ❤️
She’s beyond beautiful
Yep, she's gorgeous inside and out! 😊
That she is ^^,
Greetings all.
Rosalind Mc Gadney Camara watch Dominion on RUclips it’s about how animals are tortured and made into food. Its all hidden camera footage and it was the push I needed to become completely vegan
Rosalind Mc Gadney Camara hi question, what made you want to start back your vegan lifestyle? How was it going back to eating meat?
Rosalin MC gadney
You should follow Tabitha Brown she's vegan and awesome to watch. @ iamtabithabrown
Awesome! I was vegan for a year about 10 years ago and now I’ve returned this year! So happy to be back but I’m so surprised how much more products are available in stores or even fast food restaurants, the support is crazy now!
Her voice is so beautiful and clear. Skin glowing. And she has her own cookbook! Refreshing and inspiring.
Just started vegan 2 days ago! One day at a time! I want my health improve and there are so many things I want from this! Father God help me! Holy Spirit Lead me!
How are you doing? :))
How's it going?
carla borens ..YHWH
The Tetragrammaton, is the four-letter Hebrew word יהוה, the name of the biblical God of Israel.. Learn him!!!
The whole world has been deceived to believe that he is a certain type of way that is not true... He is a God of war &
Is only God to Israel which are the Negroes who lost their identity during the Atlantic slave trade and the Sahara slave trade they were Israelites who fled into Africa in 70AD
After getting off the ships their names and identity was stripped away from them and they were giving new names and identities.
Amen

a vegan who recommends taking b12 on youtube? truly a blessing
edit: a vegan that knows that conventionally farmed food is okay to consume? amazing!! subbed!
Same thought chain here!
can explain farmed food is okay please
Brenna Smith right! Common sense is so uncommon today.
Taking B12 is a better safe than sorry type of deal, I like her for it.
Self motivation is key
if anyone is watching this because their new year's resolution was to become vegan, you're awesome! that's why im here and I know we can do it :)
I’ve been vegan for about four years. The only thing I miss is eating fish. Every time I see fish my mouth gets watery.
Yes!!.. we got this.. newly vegan and happy💖
Keeps you from eating out so much $$ also😋😇😄 Hope this tip helps stir up some culinary creativity, Healthy and Fun Vegan Style.
excellent tip!
I love that. Very clever! Thanks for sharing 😄
I was wondering I was going to start and not break my bank at the same time. Thanks for this tip I usually give a thumbs up for good comments but this was a well deserved response. Thanks again for this light bulb thoughts

People: Oreos r vegan
Me: lives off Oreos and nothing else “it’s for the animals” I say as I sit in a corner consuming Oreos * crunch munch*
This was me like a week ago, then I was like. This isn’t so bad why don’t I try being vegan? Here I am lol.

Yesterday. Me reading a book on veganism as I eat a chicken wing!
Good Luck!
🤣🤣🤣yes, haha but not WF
Girl you veganized soul food??? Woooow...definitely need this cook book!
LOL
Vegan soul food sounds paradoxical to me.
Exactly what I was thinking!
"you can actually just eat Oreos and be vegan because they're vegan as well"

Benjamin Iskander 😂🙌🏾🍪😋
And Doritos
Preach
To understand what veganism is REALLY about please watch this:

Wow!! Good for you! I love to hear that you're making it work. LOVE YOU!!

Same here
Vanessa McLean I went vegan this month without the support of any of my friends or family. You can do this! 💪🏻
We have ur back!!!

Amber Michelle You should watch Earthlings! Warning, it’s very graphic and it made me cry my eyes out lmao, but it is good motivation to stay vegan.
BRILLIANT REPLY TOM RIPLEY. YOU ARE BEAUTIFUL.
Castledark Dweller Thank you.
Do not be vegan.Noone in human history was. Good luck. Ex vegan.
Omg I’ve been vegan for about a month and my mom is always saying that I’m eating to much carbohydrates and I showed her this video and loved it TYSM
4 months in... Never felt better
I want to be like you!!!!
Still feeling great?
see you in four years, with your sunken eyes and leaky gut.
Red Pill Suppository doesn’t matter as long as cute animals don’t die lol. (Vegans logic)
Caroline Olivia how’s the vegan life style and never kick your self it’s tricky at first
I'm so glad that you didn't kick yourself for cheating! It's a journey and a lifestyle change, so if you fall, just get back up and keep pushing.
Never kick yourself for cheating, and just keep on trying! Even if you're vegan 98% of the time, the animals and the planet are still benefiting from your effort. :)
@@JustanOrdinaryLifeJapan You mean 98% vegan, no one can be 98% vegan veganism is not a diet. You mean 98% plant based?
You can do it!! Every week will get easier and before you know it, being vegan will be just a part of your life :)
Girl! I'm a new subscriber here but I'm a southerner just like you! I'm gonna have to go through your videos because I am here for the vegan collards, vegan mac n cheese, and vegan cornbread 😊💛. Sending love from NC!!!
Julia Adney well arnt u a cutie ☺️😊 goodluck with your transition 🙌🏾🤘🏼
The vegan mac and cheese is really good 😄
I love the vegan collards too! I could eat them everyday and never grow tired of them 💚
whoop whoop, NC
Yes!!! I've got all of that for you :) Make sure to order my brand new book too: Vegan soul food!!
Kayla Austin that's like the only way you get omegas except supplements
Kayla Austin that's beautiful Kayla!!!!!! 💖
Check out Clean Food Dirty Girl for their meal plans :)
That is so amazing & exciting :) i"m very happy for you all.
My most favorite vegan ever ♥️ 😊. I love and appreciate the time you take to share your knowledge and always can feel your positive energy radiate through.
Thank you so much ❤️
Love how you talk about looking into the history of our cultural food and finding that a lot of it is plantbased.
I've been taking zinc for almost a year and it has my hair growing like crazy .
Really???
Weird color, too
I have PCOS and I'm EXTREMLY OVER WEIGHT!
I’m 3 days in👊🏾. Your hair and skin are💚.
If you eat red meat You wouldn't have to supplement! Smh
Black Goddess red nest is bad for ya hun
Keep it y sis.
your smile is so infectious!! 😁😁 lovely video 🙏🏾
Me too. It literally is now making me feel sick...
lovelylivin30 dumeny this has also been my problem. Started my vegan journey a week ago. Lost 4 lbs in 3 days and my husband beg me to do keto with him, after 2 days I returned to the Vegan way of eating and I’m satisfied with it.💞
I live near a beef farm, trust me,goin vegan as soon as I get to the grocery store, I wont gross you out bout BEEF MEAT ,
I really want to try this! I'm overweight, and my body is telling me it's time to do better. Thanks!!
After watching your videos for about 6 months, I’ve decided to make the transition. I’m only a week in so this video was super helpful!
aisyaminor Congrats!
Congratulations!! That makes my day!! I hope you're doing well :)
I've been vegan for 11 years and people like you take me to a whole new level of fabulous. Thank you
I made the BEST vegan bulgogi today. I used leeks/green onions, sweet onion, portobello and some other mushrooms, soy sauce and rice vinegar as a marinade, and added 5 cloves of garlic and a knob of grated ginger,
Then I fried it with a little oil and added a little flour as the marinate cooked so it made a really thick sauce and holy shiiiitt it was good. A made a shit ton and ate it all with some rice within an hour. I’d suggest adding some water or just oil to the marinade though because it was a little too flavorful and I almost got out of breath eating it.
Conventional Hippie I don’t really know tbh. I don’t eat tofu unless it’s blended in something. Texture makes me sick.
Ive never had bulgogi. Now I have to try.
I just found my first veggie soul sista🙌🏾🙌🏾🙌🏾. Yass new subbie ✔️
Your skin is beautiful. You have a calming voice. Great video.💖
Oh my goodness I just wanted to know how to fully go vegan and here pops ups this video!!!! My biggest struggle is letting go of eggs😩😩😩😩😳
B. Christine watch her previous video because it totally turned me off of eggs!
B. Christine Eggs were literally the first thing I dropped and recently got my mom to go off them too. They're disgusting hun. Once you understand what they are and how bad they are for you, you'll ditch em. Good luck! You can do it!😊
you can get through it, i believe in you!!
What do you love most about eggs? I have found tofu scrambled can taste a lot like scrambled eggs there is also an egg sub that looks just like over easy eggs and deviled eggs
So go vegan and eat eggs. Sometimes it's baby steps. Cutting out everything else is improvement to your quality of life in itself. Good luck!
Ethiopian Vegan!!!! That's my kind of place.... my people
J Shanko I was looking for a vegetarian buffet and googled Govinda and a Ethiopian vegetarian place called Rahel Ethiopian Vegan cuisine...I haven't tried any of these places yet....I do frequent Awash on Pico though.

Thank you! You've got this :) Let me know if you ever have questions. Hopefully my videos, and others will be helpful.
same here
Same with me. I could totally be a vegetarian but vegan always seemed so complicated to me. Doesn’t help that my husband is a meat eater!
Shannon Nicole If that's the case then start by being a vegetarian. Then when you go out to eat or are looking up recipes, start noticing how you can veganize them. Learn what you can replace eggs and dairy with. And try out some fully vegan recipes at home every once in a while so you have some comfort foods. Then, once you've researched, it won't seem as scary! Then you can finish your transition and feel way more prepared. Trust me, it seems like the cravings won't ever go away but they will. I went vegan overnight and the first 2 weeks were the hardest, but after that, I never craved it again and it smells terrible to me now. You can do this! (;
I’ve been a vegetarian for 4 years, now transitioning to vegan!

Oh wow! Very interesting. Where to go for vegan cheese, meat, etc. ?
ChooseLife so true God bless
@@RandomityLove hi there is brand called Daiya(?), nutrtional yeast flakes work, or you can find a great cashew cheese recipe.
0.65g per pound of LEAN body weight is all that you need.
For most people, they only going to need 120g of protein a day at the very most for bodybuilding.
You can get that easily with beans, nuts, and lentils. :)
Good luck!
Did you stick with it?
How did it go?
I went vegetarian last month and honestly yours is the first video I have seen that makes me believe maybe I could even take the plunge to vegan.
At least cut out dairy for sure. Thank you for the inspiration. I look forward to getting more into vegan cooking as the journey continues
Traveling On a Shoestring watch Dominion on RUclips it’s about how animals are tortured and made into food. Its all hidden camera footage and it was the push I needed to become completely vegan

New subscriber! I just transitioned to vegan for 2 weeks now mostly for weight loss & i never thought i’d love eating this way. i feel so happy, it’s actually easy to let go of those foods like chicken etc, when you want to do it. Especially after watching “What the health”🤢
That's fantastic!! Congratulations :)
that good feeling you get when you see a youtuber that you never seen, and you watch one of there videos for the first time! She is incredible
Love my "Sweet Potato Soul" cookbook. I wish there were a picture for every meal.

This is so helpful!! I’ve been wanting to transition into eating vegan and your video really breaks it down and makes it feel doable. Thank you!!
Girl you should be on TV!! I could listen to you all day. You are truly talented; presenter, host, TV personality, whatever! You were meant to talk/connect/teach people, you're obviously doing that now and I in no way mean to down play your RUclips channel but you're definitely meant for the big screen. Just found your channel- love it! I’ve been eating vegan for a month and am amazed at how much easier it is than what I thought it would be.
I feel you, I’m actually thinking of doing that because a friend of mine is hardcore into gardening.
I agree with you! I grow my leafy greens - kale, silver beet, Chinese greens, spring onions, tomatoes, mint, oregano, coriander, thyme and dill - on my apartment deck. ORGANIC, yummy and great to share with others 😊
Thanks a bunch. City dweller with a small concrete yard, but not excuse with the space you say is needed.

This video was so helpful. I feel like most RUclipsr vegans alienate their audiences by showcasing the most elaborate, exotic, expensive foods making veganism seem elitist and unattainable. This video was down to earth and relatable. Thank you

I went vegan in 2019 never would I have said food is beautiful lol research helps you can do it friends
There is actually much more calcium in dark leafy greens (like kale) than there is in dairy products..
Dairy depletes calcium. The food admin paid for adds like milk does a body good to make us belive the opposite.
Almond milk is amazing you should try
I absolutely loved this video... I'm almost 6 months in and everyone around me is so closed minded when it comes to being Vegan
key1152003 I'm also nearly 6 months into being VEGAN. People often question me and don't quite understand me. They say to me a lot "Oh it's COS veganism is fashionable nowadays". I do it for the animals and don't care what people think anymore.
I MISS YOU!!! Come back!! 😢😩❤️❤️
