I love this one! Every time I make something sore while road running, agility running or doing Hatha or Ashtanga yoga (knee, hip, shoulder, neck or ankle), you are my go-to to fix it! This video was amazing. I already had knee pain that's been driving me crazy, but I think it has calmed down a little. My rheumatologist said it looks like I might have bursitis on both knees, but my problems have mostly been coming from my hips. I have had constant hip pain and I could feel these exercises also strengthening my hips a bit. Thank you so much for this video. Other knee videos I have tried actually have made my knee pain worst. They do harder things, like warriors and standing positions and I'm like.... uh no I need something gentle and this was it! Gentle, yet still strengthening. This definitely felt like something a physical therapist would suggest. I always love your videos!
Thank you Joelle I will be doing this tonight. I've done a weights leg workout today and a big walk this will finish things off nicely 🙂 love your weekly videos Joelle it's like a surprise on which practice we'll get 🙂
I can't do the squat, but just modified that with some heel lifts. I was actually able to sit criss cross for the first time in weeks after this was done, thank you. Will be repeating for sure!
Big fan of this routine! I have a few knee videos I rotate on a weekly basis and this is my go-to for something on the gentler side when I’m low-energy or having knee pain!!
Hi Joelle. I find your weekly offerings very helpful. Today I want to introduce your videos to my husband, age 69, who suffers knee pain but still has okay knee structure not requiring surgery.. How can he modify to add more resistance. He wishes to build knee sparing muscle strength but is already a generally strong guy. Should he add weights or resistance bands? Thank you for your consideration of my question and your generous offerings of videos over the years. Andrea
Hi Andrea, first of all thank you for your kind words and I'm so happy you enjoy practicing together! And that is a GREAT question - weights and resistance bands can definitely both help with building strength, but if your husband is specifically looking to build knee strength I'd recommend adding a resistance band in particular (he can start with a lighter resistance and build up to higher tensions). For example, in this particular video there's a great clamshell exercise midway through that would be made all the more effective using a band! Also, resistance exercises using the hands like at the very end of this video would be good to build into daily life as well. Oh and I'd suggest trying both this one a couple times and my earlier knee pain video (this one: ruclips.net/video/ulOwPW9b6Cs/видео.html) to get some additional ideas - that one uses a towel for a few resistance moves that could be great as well. I hope that helps, and questions are always welcome! 😊
Thank you Joelle for such an amazing and healing practice! I have been doing your classes weekly and find them to be so beneficial. Do you have any classes to help with plantar fasciitis foot pain by any chance? Thank you again!
Hi Elina, thanks for practicing with me! If you search "yoga with Joelle plantar fasciitis" on RUclips you should find a class for that 😉 I hope it'll help!

You are so welcome Martha! I'm always so happy to hear from people who have been with me for a while - and I'm glad this one hit the spot. 😉 Have a lovely day!
Dear Joelle. This one has helped my knees SO much! Thank you 🙏 I do still struggle with a muscle though. It runs from the right side of my big toe and to a specific point at my inner knee and hurts a lot. Furthermore, and on its way it gives me a horrible cramp in the toe. I cannot figure out which muscle it is and therefore what to do about it. Can you help me? Thank you so much in advance Joelle, and thank you for being here with all your wonderful practices 🙏❤ All the best to you, Saga Corinth Due
Hi Saga, thanks for practicing with me, and a BIG thank you for being a channel member! I'm not familiar with what you're describing, but off the top of my head I'd suggest trying some lower leg classes to see if they can help relieve the discomfort and bring a bit more mobility to the feet. Here's a few I'd suggest: ruclips.net/video/9GiLEupJq40/видео.html (10 min foot pain), ruclips.net/video/qKecs7dRmYM/видео.html (10 min shin splints), ruclips.net/video/wfbdxE5mqpA/видео.html (5 min foot and ankle tension)

And I'm seriously relieved with pain. Thankyou so much... I will continue this regime ❤❤ guys do this. It works I'm still working out daily, only doing upper body and abs...
This routine was great to relief my knee stiffness and pain. However the toe squat was too much.,Have you any suggestions for an alternative move please? 😊
Great job Jo! Of course you're always welcome to leave something out that doesn't feel good, but if you're looking to substitute another option is to hold on to something in front of you so there isn't quite as much weight or pressure back on the toes. I hope that helps!
@@YogawithJoelle ok thanks. Part of the issue is that my toes don’t bend that way due to hammer toes , a metal pin in my left big toe and part metal in my right foot. I get a lot of cramp. I am thinking that maybe if I sit and pull the toes towards me or maybe do a higher chair squat holding onto something and go more onto the toes- hope that makes sense! I will have another go. Your routines are perfect for me with being shorter. I find most are too strong with fast flow. Thank you 🙏
Just as a request would love to have a yin yoga for those with arthritis who can't be on hands or knees. Thanks though I have modified and practiced your knee pain stretching and strengthening with modifications.
I loved this video but was unable to do the squat or chair poses because of my knee pain issues. Do you have an alternative posture for those segments so I can join?
Great job Jacque! You might like to try this practice if you're currently experiencing knee pain and struggling with some of the poses - it's a bit more accessible and closer to the ground : ruclips.net/video/ulOwPW9b6Cs/видео.html Hope that helps!
@YogawithJoelle can you help with knee popping/cracking or does this help with that cause my knees don't hurt as much from doing this video but the popping is still there?
I'm glad it's helping with your knee pain! As to the popping, there are many reasons why it can happen, so I'm afraid that's not really something I can answer as it'll depend on why yours are popping in the first place.
So glad you find it helpful! How often you do it will depend a little on your body and how it responds. If you're sore the day after doing it, taking a rest day before coming back to it can be a good idea. I'd generally recommend 3 times a week, but that's only a rough guide. On alternate days, you could do a practice focused on a neighbouring joint, like the ankles or hips, as these can be linked to knee pain as well. For example, here's a 10 min hip pain practice you could do on your "off" days: ruclips.net/video/ybXyTra5dg4/видео.html Great job!
In April this year, I had severe knee pain suddenly when my knee just gave way whilst normal walking and for a few days it was difficult to weight bear on my left knee. I saw a physio who said it was an OA flare up although I hadn’t had any problem with my knees before, he advised to keep doing yoga and Pilates and walking as I had been doing. The knee pain and range of movement is now much better but I still can’t kneel in child’s pose or squat or kneel deeply. I still have a large Baker’s cyst at the back of my knee, should I try to fully flex the knee in child’s pose or avoid it, I don’t want to make it worse but am getting despondent at how long I am taking to recover, will I ever? I am 64 but fit and active, it is so frustrating. Any advice?
I'm so sorry you're going through this Janet, and good on you for seeking out the right solutions for your body. I'm not a physio so I can't really advise you on your specific situation, other than to say that generally pushing into pain isn't a good idea and definitely not what we're looking for in yoga. So if fully flexing the knee in child's pose is downright painful, I'd avoid for now and take a child's pose variation on your back. You may like to try some more gentle stretches like in yin yoga, here's a nice one for knee pain that might help you out: ruclips.net/video/oCf0zzdqXJc/видео.html I hope that helps!
l liked your exercises a lot. Some of it I know already but always afraid whethrt I am doing iy correctly. Thank you for showing these exercises to strengthen the knees. I want to know whether yopu will can personalize these knee strengthening exercises. If yes, how go we contact you?
This is definitely a great practice for knee strengthening, but for any specific questions on your situation I recommend checking with your doctor if you aren't sure what's appropriate for you.
Hello Joelle:) Thank you for this useful and wonderful video. I tried it yestreday, my knees do feel stronger but my right knee stil hurts. I think it started when I tried to run for a bit. My question is do I continue do yoga dispite the pain or do I rest? It would be great if you could answer me. Thank you again for all the efort you put in to making all this great videos:)
Great job Vladimir! I'm glad to hear your knees feel stronger, and it's not unusual to need a few practices for the knees to get used to the new stretches and strength work, particularly if you're a runner and they're taking some pressure from that. Resting is always a great idea if you'd like to take a few days off. I also have a very gentle yin yoga practice for knee pain that could be great to complement the rest days if you'd like to try it: ruclips.net/video/oCf0zzdqXJc/видео.html
I tried the yin yoga this mourning and went for a swim after that. My right knee even more. How long, and how often do I have to do yoga untill the paon is gone in your opinion?
@@vladimirpapic9873 Unfortunately I can't really give you an answer on that as I don't know you and your body. If it feels worse after gentle movement and stretches this would be a question to check with a medical professional.

Your routines are perfect for me with being shorter. I find most are too strong with fast flow. Thank you 🙏
Beautiful yoga!👍👏🙏❤️
Thank you so much!
happy to see you again 😊
Right back at you! 😃
haha😀
Just as a request would love to have a yin yoga for those with arthritis who can't be on hands or knees. Thanks though I have modified and practiced your knee pain stretching and strengthening with modifications.
You might like to try this one, it's a Yin yoga for knee pain : ruclips.net/video/oCf0zzdqXJc/видео.html
@@YogawithJoelle thank you for the recommendation!
I loved this video but was unable to do the squat or chair poses because of my knee pain issues. Do you have an alternative posture for those segments so I can join?
Great job Jacque! You might like to try this practice if you're currently experiencing knee pain and struggling with some of the poses - it's a bit more accessible and closer to the ground : ruclips.net/video/ulOwPW9b6Cs/видео.html Hope that helps!
very helpful
Thank you for sharing! Glad you found the challenge helpful 🙏
Good morning Joelle! Thanks for this practice 💖
Thank you so much! It is a pleasure to practice with you! Have a great week ahead! 🙏
enjoyed your session 🎉🎉
Do you have poses for bone on bone pain?
Thank you for the suggestion, I will keep this in mind! 🙏
Hi Joelle , first thank you alot for that amazing video it’s really helpful
But can I do it every day? Or I should take at leat day off
So glad you find it helpful!
Madam, really interesting to see this yoga
I like it
Thank you very much!

Useful information
Hey! Can one do these exercises with knee arthritis?
Theoretically yes, but there are different kinds of and degrees of arthritis, so for any concerns make sure you check in with your doctor
Excellent
🙏💗 Thank you
070724 Some great adaptations of yoga positions to strengthen knees. Thank you. Namaste.
Glad you found this helpful! ✨
I have both of my knees replaced. Is this good for me? I need to get my strength up
This is definitely a great practice for knee strengthening, but for any specific questions on your situation I recommend checking with your doctor if you aren't sure what's appropriate for you.
Congratulations on hitting 80,000 subscribers the squatting then going to a prayer was finna get me to scream in pain😂😂😂😂
@@YogawithJoelle Thank's again :) I will try the yin yoga.
@@YogawithJoelle Hello :) I just wanted to say thank you again. I was persistent and did yoga for the knees watching your videos and I can run now :) You are a great teacher and a person. I just wanted to ask you do you have any video for the latissimus dorsi muscle in the back? Good luck with the moving to another apartment.
