Wow Joelle, this routine could not have come at a better time. I've been nursing my sore knees from tons of pandemic meditations. Tried it for the first time today. Feels so zen like all your other routines. Will find time to squeeze this into my regular hips routine! Thanks again!!
Thank you so much!! I recommend you and your videos to everyone U talk to who needs to strengthen or heal a sore joint or strained tendon or muscle. Your yoga videos are more helpful than months of PT!
I have had knee pain for several years that flare up every once in a while. This week my knee has been hurting a lot, so instead of doing my regular yoga practice I looked up yoga for knee pain. I tried a few other videos, but yours is the best. This is the 3rd day that I have done it and my knee is feeling so much better. I have subscribed to your channel and will be doing more yoga with you. Thanks.

This was so amazing. After 5 years doing yoga on youtube I've never done any of those exercises in the way you showed them. The variety is very welcome. And they seemed so effective too. The bridge especially. Putting the towel between the legs and squeezing made the whole thing feel more productive, gives you no choice but to activate your weak muscles.
Good for you! Running is such good exercise. I have a whole playlist of videos for runners that you might want to check out for some ideas of how to keep your body in the best running shape possible. 😉 You can find it here: ruclips.net/p/PL9wzuXltV2006mylgeTEZM8dR7hB79WIe
Great short knee pain video! It seems to have helped. I'm always looking for different things to try, and appreciate every online yoga teacher who provides specialist videos like this. You have a really calming voice, really appreciate it.
Thank you for the wonderful content! This is helping my knees after just one clumsy session. I’ll be checking in with this routine and your others to improve. Thank you!
Today was a day of doing what I'd tell any client to do which is listen to my body. I am doing the 10 day challenge but then I saw this and felt it would be more supportive to my body today. I am still practicing but not following a schedule just because it's what I've been doing. So easy to tell other people what to do. So hard to follow it myself haha. I am going to check out your yin for knee pain later today if time permits. Thank you again for your practices and for sharing your energy with us!
Day 4 of my 5 day zen retreat and my knees are sore!! Snuck in this practice even if I’m not supposed to use my phone! Hoping this will carry me thru to tomorrow. Thanks Joelle🙏🏼

My first post 100k comment! Now that the bubblies have settled down, I’m starting the count down for the next 100k!! As I shared w you before, my daily practice of your hip bursitis video helped me get rid of my chronic hip pain! I’m hoping that this knee video (which btw I requested and you acknowledged in the video) will do the same for my knee. My left knee has not fully healed since I injured it last summer doing 108 prostrations in a temple in Korea! I hope you enjoyed the celebratory drink I sent your way! Thanks as always Joelle, keep up the great work! Happy to see several new videos!!
Hi Larry! Thank you for the comment as always! I remember your request for the knee video, and I'm genuinely honored to be a part of your wellness journey. I'm sorry to hear about your left knee injury and I hope the knee video proves to be as helpful as the hip one, and that you experience a speedy recovery! Cheers ! 🌟
Thanks so much Joelle, I'm confident it will. Your plantar fasciitis video helped me as well. Your yoga has been a key component of my wellness routine. At my age, I need all the help I can get :) Thanks again! @@YogawithJoelle

Thank you so much, this actually helped!! My right knee has been in pain but it feels looser now. Thank you for actually explaining what muscles and parts are being worked on in the different moves, not many instructors do that!

A huge congrats on reaching 100k on your combined channels. I was mentally calculating the number of weeks needed to 100k on this channel, never thought of checking your French channel! Great to be able to celebrate this 100k mark twice! You’ve worked so hard to reach this point, it’s just the beginning of many more milestones! Btw, I really enjoyed this older routine. Working on my whole body to get ready for my multi day hike in March! Congrats Joelle, you deserve everything!
In your defense, no one ever said there'd ever be math involved 😜 Thanks so much, and it's great to hear you still enjoy coming back to older videos once in a while! You are going to crush that hike!!
Thank you so much for creating the Lower Body playlist and so much good content on your channel. I am re-establishing and healing my lower body after injuries, atrophy, and weight gain. @@YogawithJoelle Hi Joelle. Today was day 4 of doing both the tight calves and knee pain classes back to back. My knees do feel a bit stronger and I feel I am trusting my knee strength a little more. I am excited to see how it goes after a few weeks. As an aside, I rub olive oil into my knees every day as it does seem to lessen any pain after yoga, stress (curiously, a major trigger) or walking (I try to walk 5 to 6 miles every second day). Thanks again for your wonderful classes ♡
I just did this video for the first time and it really helped with my right knee. I am not walking or running today to give my knee a rest and doing this made it feel so much better. I will add this video to my weekly routine. Thank you for keeping this video very simple.
Thank you. I could do the good morning and the one after, but all the rest felt so good and I learned about my knees. I don't know how I injured my left knee. I'll give it some love and might repeat this sequence once more today.
Terrific job Paula! If you haven't already, it might be helpful to watch this short video about knee pain to help you better understand a few things: ruclips.net/video/iya0A8lWbAw/видео.html Looking forward to practicing together again soon!
What a great video! I got turned around on the hiking trail and walked many more miles than intended, stressing out my knees and hips. Woke up feeling stiff an achy but after this video I'm able to walk without any pain in my knees. Thank you so much for this video!
You are so welcome Natalia, I'm so glad this helped after a long(er than expected) hike! Good for you for figuring out what your body needed after that challenge!! 🌞
Hi Joelle, just a quick note to let you know that I’ve incorporated this to my regular routines and have shared this video to my Zen group in the Philippines. We’ve all been meditating a lot more during the pandemic and this routine is a welcome help! Thanks on behalf of our sangha.
How nice of you, Larry, a big "salamat" from me! I hope the rest of your group will enjoy it too. 😃 I've actually got my first meditation video coming out tomorrow, would love to know what you think if you have a chance to try it. Thanks again!!
@@larrysiy4457 I have actually visited the Philippines twice before (Manila and Cebu), and I had a wonderful time there! Unfortunately, I'm sorry to say that "hello" and "thank you" are the extent of my Tagalog!!
Thank you! I had to put your 28 day challenge on hold as my knee (arthritis) with cold weather started acting up. So I came to this for a few days instead I’m glad I have choices. I just wish I didn’t have to pause the other at day 9. I will finish it though!
Hi! I've also done your other knee friendly post. But I wonder, what about a longer knee pain session? Like 45 min to an hour? Your videos help me so much. I've have had several falls recently, hitting both knees, I normally do a hour or so a day, and I miss it! Thank you❤
Thanks for the suggestion! I will definitely keep this in mind. In the meantime, if you search "yoga with joëlle knee pain" on RUclips, you will find a couple that may be helpful 😊
Love all your videos, they fix whatever I injure! I strained the tendon(s) in the back of my left knee by over stretching too many assorted warrior and triangle poses, combined with hours of standing while hand pulling very stubborn weeds, and although this video is helping, the two standing poses aggravate it. What would you suggest I substitute for back of the knee tendon pain? Or could could you make a video just for that area? Thank you!
Ouch sorry to hear that! I'm glad it's helping, and you can definitely leave out the standing poses if you feel they're not helpful. I've got a yin yoga practice for knee pain that doesn't involve any standing and looks to release all sides of the knee, so that might be helpful to try and see which passive stretches seem to bring you the most relief. Here's the class, hope it helps! ruclips.net/video/oCf0zzdqXJc/видео.html
I have hypermobile joints and the knees are the worst they crunch and crack and can be really painful. Was looking for something to help during this heatwave as hot weather makes it worse and none of my usuals were helping. But this video was great, just what I was looking for and really made my knee less painful all stretched out and less tight in the joint so thank you.
love your relaxing videos. Could you please do one on ankles and feet... I have a sore ankle on the outer ankle bone area, in a spot near the top of the foot where it joins to the ankle. If I press on that one spot it sends tingles into my 3rd and 4th toe. (and hurts in a line towards them). When doing some of your videos e.g. the IT band one - it started hurting at first to cross my legs when the top of that foot had pressure put on it. It felt better after doing that video though. Thank you from Australia :)
Hi Alan, so glad you enjoy the videos and that they help you feel better! I have two foot/ankle pain practices that you might like to try if you haven't already. One is a more general foot pain flow (ruclips.net/video/9GiLEupJq40/видео.html), and the other focuses on heel pain and plantar fasciitis (ruclips.net/video/kYqnbQNzxko/видео.html). I hope they help!
I'm so glad you liked it Dawn! I have two videos that relate to foot pain, so I'd recommend giving both a try to see whether one seems to "speak to" your body more than the other. The first is a general foot pain practice (ruclips.net/video/9GiLEupJq40/видео.html), and the second targets plantar fasciitis, and I suspect could bring some good sensations for neuropathy too (ruclips.net/video/kYqnbQNzxko/видео.html). I really hope they help!!
Hi! Has your Dad tried any of the exercises in this sequence? I'm not an expert on osteoarthritis, so wouldn't feel confident filming a whole video for this. My best recommendation would be to have him meet with a physical therapist, or to gently try the stretches and exercises in this video one at a time with him to see which ones seem to provide relief for your father, and then to incorporate those regularly throughout his day. I hope that helps!!
Thank you! I did something wrong yesterday and pain is around the knees and calf and sheen … so not sure it is exercise for knee only what I need . Have to stretch while leg hips and low back probably
Great job! I also have a gentle stretch for knee pain if you'd like to alternate or see which one seems to help you most: ruclips.net/video/oCf0zzdqXJc/видео.html Or I've got lots of different ones for hips and low back, depending on what you're looking for - feel free to ask if you're looking for anything specific!
@@YogawithJoelle Thank you Joelle! Let me look into that link and come back to you… I am trying to identify which muscle/ muscles are affected. Your short simple videos help!!
Hi Joelle, just got done with day 1 of a 2 day mini virtual sesshin (retreat)! This knee routine came in really handy. Thanks so much! I was wondering if I can pair it with any other routine in your library to help with being in the cushion basically all day. Or if you were planning create one specifically for that purpose. We normally do yoga stretches at end of day during our traditional sesshin. But I’m on my own with this virtual sesshin :) Thanks!
Wonderful, great job Larry! Glad to hear the knee routine helped, and good question about what to pair it with. When we spend a lot of time seated as you are, hips and hip flexor tend to get pretty tight by the end of the day, so anything like my quads sequence (ruclips.net/video/dpsB_WtHlV0/видео.html), hip flexors (ruclips.net/video/1v0qL8DOqe0/видео.html), or maybe even side body (ruclips.net/video/nGwrurxx9Sg/видео.html) could be an interesting pairing! I hope that helps! Also, a bit of glute and hip massage (ruclips.net/video/AUlSPZudSlY/видео.html) never hurts. 😉Well done to you, and hope you continue to enjoy sesshin, that sounds great!!
@@YogawithJoelle Thanks for your recommendations Joelle! I’ll definitely give them a try. This will help me be better prepared for next month’s longer sesshin! I’m also looking forward to trying out some of your new videos. Keep up the good work!
@@YogawithJoelle THANK YOU for creating this wonderful channel. This is what social media is supposed to be! A positive change agent. Not what is currently proliferating in our social media sphere.
Nice practice, unfortunately the pushing down of the towel with my knee was painful, but I listened to my body. Maybe it will get better soon. I just started to work in very uncomfortable shoes and it strained my knees. But all the other exercises were very nice and helpful, thank you very much!
Thank you for joining me! And yes I've got a video right here to help you work on that : ruclips.net/video/bkWT9-dPaaM/видео.htmlsi=nuPqc4GCEYdoBQF7 I hope you enjoy it ✨
Thank you so much. I will keep doing this. It helped a little in knees. I do believe it is more in the tops of feet/toes. After the poses. So will keep doing these and flexing my piggy toes too.
thank you for sharing this it felt good till i got to the part where you put the top of your foot on the roll and squat. That hurt do you have any other suggestions or videos to try? thanks in advance
Great question Heather! That can indeed be pretty intense, particularly if the ankles or shins are tight. I'm working on a shin splints practice that will be out soon, but in the meantime you may like to try this calves practice (ruclips.net/video/zPzSkLHp9ws/видео.html) and see how it feels to you. Also, here's another, gentler practice for knee pain you may like to try sometime, where we hold stretches for longer and don't put any pressure on the top of the foot: ruclips.net/video/oCf0zzdqXJc/видео.html I hope that helps!
Good for you Maria! 😃 Generally, I'd say start with 3x per week, but see how it feels in your body first and how you're feeling the next day. Then you can check in with yourself to see if every other day makes sense for you, or if at some point you feel stronger and want to try doing it every day.
First night of pain free knees in a very long time and though my legs were sore the next day, my range of motion and overall movement felt sooooo much better. Highly recommended
So glad you love them Lindsey! I'd recommend checking with your doctor or PT as I'm obviously not familiar with your individual situation, but this is probably the most knee-gentle practice I've got if you'd like to try it : ruclips.net/video/oCf0zzdqXJc/видео.html
Joelle, I really liked the variety of poses. HOWEVER, as someone with hearing loss, even with my headphones turned all the way up, I had trouble HEARING you. I often find that the videos where the instructor's voice is disconnected from the person doing the poses is difficult for me. It might not have been such a struggle if you didn't have the "music" going in the background.
Thank you for the feedback Mary! This is one of my older videos, so hopefully the quality has improved a lot since then! Thank you for joining me and happy that you enjoyed the practice 😊
I’ve been doing this session once for a few days. Today when I got to the standing forward fold I felt a pain in my calf muscle. Maybe I should take a break I wonder why that happened?
You're certainly welcome to take a break if you feel that's what your body needs. If you'd like a gentler knee pain routine with no standing, I'd also recommend this one : ruclips.net/video/oCf0zzdqXJc/видео.html
@@YogawithJoelle Thanks so much Joelle I will try this link. The pain did cease after I backed off a bit. It’s beneficial to me to do a different sequence everyday so I don’t put pressure on the same muscles. I love your videos!
You can modify to suit your needs as much as necessary. In the first stretch, feel free to pull the knee further back so it's not as demanding on the hip. And here's another very gentle practice for knee pain that's also less demanding on the hips : ruclips.net/video/oCf0zzdqXJc/видео.html

It was very lovely . Thank you
You're welcome 😊
Thank you so much, it help a lot.
Thank you for knee morning GBU
What a great video! I got turned around on the hiking trail and walked many more miles than intended, stressing out my knees and hips. Woke up feeling stiff an achy but after this video I'm able to walk without any pain in my knees. Thank you so much for this video!
You are so welcome Natalia, I'm so glad this helped after a long(er than expected) hike! Good for you for figuring out what your body needed after that challenge!! 🌞
Wow, thank you so much, your channel is the most beautiful on YT! :)
Wow, thank you for the lovely compliment! I'm so glad you like it 😊
Hi Joelle, just a quick note to let you know that I’ve incorporated this to my regular routines and have shared this video to my Zen group in the Philippines.
Yoga with Joelle Was that google translate or you’ve visited Manila :) I’m pretty sure they’ll enjoy it! Looking forward to your meditation video!
@@larrysiy4457 I have actually visited the Philippines twice before (Manila and Cebu), and I had a wonderful time there! Unfortunately, I'm sorry to say that "hello" and "thank you" are the extent of my Tagalog!!
@@YogawithJoelle That only means you have to go back and learn a few more words :) Be sure to visit the beautiful beaches in Palawan next time!
@@larrysiy4457 I would love to!!
Thank you! I had to put your 28 day challenge on hold as my knee (arthritis) with cold weather started acting up. So I came to this for a few days instead I’m glad I have choices. I just wish I didn’t have to pause the other at day 9. I will finish it though!
It'll be waiting for you whenever you're ready Melinda! Glad you found something else that worked better for you in the meantime :)
Excellent. Thank you. 🙏😊
Thank you so much my son sent me this so helpful for my strained meniscus
Glad it was helpful, Terri!
Do you have a yoga for a rotator cuff and arm ??
Beautiful 😊 Thank you ❤
Thank you! Cheers!
Omg thanks it's totally fixed it!!!!
Ah, that's wonderful to hear! Well done!! 😃
Nice it was helpful
Great job and so glad it was helpful! ✨✨
Loved this!🙏🏻🙏🏻🌸💓💓
Excellent thanks
Mam I have heavy pain in knee put this yoga I will try pain relief in few minutes thank you so much 🙏🙏🙏
You're very welcome!
@@YogawithJoelle thanks for your video mam🙏
Hi Hi 10min stretch felt good after strength workout with Meghan u rock high fives Sasu
So glad it felt good!
I do this every morning before work because I’m a housekeeper and I have to push a cart every day and every night thank you for helping my knees
I'm so happy to hear this, well done to you Bobby!
Interesting. Not having knee problems, but I thought I would try. 😊
Great idea to try something new! There's always more we can learn about our own bodies 😉
Oh my that felt good. Dealing with bad fibromyalgia and hence arthritis. Do you have any routine helping with tennis elbow pain and shoulder pain?
So glad you liked it ! And yes, I've got some for both! If you search "yoga with joelle elbow" or "shoulder" on RUclips you'll find them 😉
I have hypermobile joints and the knees are the worst they crunch and crack and can be really painful. Was looking for something to help during this heatwave as hot weather makes it worse and none of my usuals were helping. But this video was great, just what I was looking for and really made my knee less painful all stretched out and less tight in the joint so thank you.
I am so glad this could help! Thank you for sharing!
Namaste 🙏
Namaste! 🙏
love your relaxing videos.
Hi , Loved this video! I’m having trouble with neuropathy in my feet. Is there one of your videos that you feel would help? Thanks so much!
Hello. Can you please do a video for helping my 84 year old dad for strengthening and stretching to help his osteoarthritis in his knee. Thank you 😊🌼
@@YogawithJoelle thank you very much your advice. He needs pushing so I will get him to do your two points. Thank you ☺️💖
@@larrysiy4457 Great, thank you so much for your continued support!!
@@YogawithJoelle THANK YOU for creating this wonderful channel. This is what social media is supposed to be! A positive change agent. Not what is currently proliferating in our social media sphere.
I am doing these exercises in preparation for knee surgery at the end of the month. 😁
I really hope they help!
Nice practice, unfortunately the pushing down of the towel with my knee was painful, but I listened to my body. Maybe it will get better soon. I just started to work in very uncomfortable shoes and it strained my knees. But all the other exercises were very nice and helpful, thank you very much!
Wonderful job! 🌞
Very good. I have hard time sitting on knees? Anything you can help with?
Thank you for joining me! And yes I've got a video right here to help you work on that : ruclips.net/video/bkWT9-dPaaM/видео.htmlsi=nuPqc4GCEYdoBQF7 I hope you enjoy it ✨
Thank you so much. I will keep doing this. It helped a little in knees. I do believe it is more in the tops of feet/toes. After the poses. So will keep doing these and flexing my piggy toes too.
I am feeling better, can you share the link of feet pain exercises
Thank you 🙏🏼
I'm glad it helped! Here you go: ruclips.net/video/9GiLEupJq40/видео.html
Thank you for sharing 🙏🏼
@@34aarthi You are more than welcome!!
thank you for sharing this it felt good till i got to the part where you put the top of your foot on the roll and squat.
@@YogawithJoelle thank you I will check them out
Anh suggestion fod modicying ths twist? Hurts my knee. Thanks
Any i mean & modifying i mean
Hi Stephanie, which twist do you mean, can you tell me at which point of the video it is?
This looks like exactly what I need! How many times a week should I do?
Good for you Maria! 😃 Generally, I'd say start with 3x per week, but see how it feels in your body first and how you're feeling the next day. Then you can check in with yourself to see if every other day makes sense for you, or if at some point you feel stronger and want to try doing it every day.
@@YogawithJoelle , thank you for your quick response. I just did my first sequence today!
Can we do these on the bed instead of the floor? unable to get off the floor at this time
Feel free to adjust our sessions based on how you feel and what works for you 😊
First night of pain free knees in a very long time and though my legs were sore the next day, my range of motion and overall movement felt sooooo much better. Highly recommended
That's great news! Well done John
Joelle - I love your classes! Do you have any suggestions for yoga after total knee replacement surgery?
So glad you love them Lindsey! I'd recommend checking with your doctor or PT as I'm obviously not familiar with your individual situation, but this is probably the most knee-gentle practice I've got if you'd like to try it : ruclips.net/video/oCf0zzdqXJc/видео.html
I’m hoping this will help me with my arthritis I have in my knees. It’s pretty painful.
I hope it helped Diana, well done for seeking out what your body needs.
Madam, really enjoyed
Joelle, I really liked the variety of poses. HOWEVER, as someone with hearing loss, even with my headphones turned all the way up, I had trouble HEARING you. I often find that the videos where the instructor's voice is disconnected from the person doing the poses is difficult for me. It might not have been such a struggle if you didn't have the "music" going in the background.
Thank you for the feedback Mary! This is one of my older videos, so hopefully the quality has improved a lot since then! Thank you for joining me and happy that you enjoyed the practice 😊
i fell down on my knees and sprained my ankles out of nowhere while i was just walking?! thanks for this!
Sorry to hear that, I hope this helps ✨
Hello I have just do an injection for my knee can you suggest me what to do.
Thank you
I recommend that you speak with a medical professional to get the advice you need. Good luck and I wish you all the best.
@@YogawithJoelle Thank you ...
My doctor told me to do bicycle after one week and me i want to do yoga also..
What if I have knee pain but my hips have no flexibility so like the first exercise hurt my hips a lot
