- Justin Hayward performing live at The Paramount Theater on June 4, 2016 in Austin, Texas. Justin had laryngitis earlier in the week and had to cancel 2 shows in Oklahoma. For me it just doesn't get any better than this...it is excellent.... Love Justin's comedy routine with Julie Ragins....

Through their music over the years, the Moody Blues gave me a beautiful vehicle for my mind and heart to drift away to a place where only peace and beauty existed. Thank you Justin, Graham, John, and Ray....thank you from the bottom of my heart. I miss you all dearly!
There are no words too beatiful to describe how JUSTIN"S heart just melts ours and speaks feelings we can't express. How I love and appreciate how this lovely group has shared their gifts. My heart says thank you guys!!!!!! You have made my life complete...........
Well said!
He is straight up a-m-a-z-i-n-g.
I just wish that some people could live forever, Justin Hayward is my pick, live to be a million
Charles Vigilante people do live forever since they are made in the image of God. They just graduate after a series of lessons.
We are reborn in the image of God I suppose if the " Lord Jesus Christ" forgives me. But ya Jesus is the real true son of GOD. I have no doubt.

Not by works I heard them say
upon thy cross be dust
all work is done No need to pray
Redemption yours by trust
When gold doth rust what will men do
To sail on Shylock's sea
merit weighed in pounds of flesh
man's worth by usery
coins alone will multiply
where barron metals come
It's root is evil money's reign
who's kingdom longes to come
let then my words just virtue win
that wealth in men might grow
spending all their merits high
with not a cent to show
A poem, a prayer, a piece of art
A masterful design
A work of consolation
some grapes to make the wine
A man leaves nothing more than this
what he has left behind
His works are heaped upon the earth
In heaven they will shine
That song resonated with an entire generation at the time.
It's timeless now, eh?
It still does for me,
Of all the great personas and talents from that era, nobody did with as much style, talent and love as Justin. John, Paul, Mick, Joe you are all great but Justin is the greatest of all time.
Love this guy. Especially admire his love of Guild guitars. "I walked by and had to have it." A true guitarist.
I'm so happy that Justin rescued that beautiful instrument from the pawn shop!
Katie Steuart if that guitar could talk, the tales I’m sure it would say, sorry that person perhaps fell upon hard times and was forced to sell his beloved friend, but beyond lucky to be rescued by none other than the great Justin Hayward!!
Great to see the Human side of Justin. Just a Guy enjoying life! doing what he does best.
Thanks for the video
Such down to earth comments...glad I was able to record this and you enjoyed it.
My favourite song from the “Threshold of a Dream” album.
Justin's such a trooper! Glad he got past the laryngitis and the vocal cord issues that had plagued him.
Wonderful performance eventhough he was ill! 🤗
Thx for sharing.
Criminally-underrated guitarist. So tasteful.
Yup
And underrated as a vocalist too
THE WORD "UNDERRATED" IS GETTING EXTREMELY TIRED......💖🙏
Justin is such a beautiful multi talented artist. And ĥe is an artist. I am so happy he is still alive. I was lucky enough to see him in the states. 🙏🎸💕
He is too cute🥰 A pawn shop. Just absolutely love Justin Hayward
The Moody Blues and their music changed my life, no doubt about that !!!
What a Treasure the Moody Blues are to the world. Priceless beyond measure.
Amazing gift, this is my favorite song :) Thank you Justin for making our lives a little bit brighter with your wonderful music and voice. You and the Moodies truly are a legend.
That guitar had the pleasure of being played by Justin Hayward!!
Jeff Duggan yep his guitars are living breathing entities that bring us so much joy!!!

@@1DansBlues THANK YOU DANNY....BLESS YOU MY DARLING.....😇🙏💖🤗💐
I have loved this song for such a long time. Justin, in telling his story, was so cute. He is so lucky he still has his voice which sounds great.
Thank you for everything Justin.
Thank you for all of your beautiful music!!!
A beautiful man. A beautiful song. Thanks so much for sharing.
Never get tired listening to Justin whether solo or with the Moodys. Love this song. Thanks for sharing. During this difficult time with Covid, somehow I feel less isolated here in NY when I listen to him. Justin is my vehicle to escape the quarantine.
Yes, indeed!
Julie's vocals fit, superbly, sublimely...
Thank you Thank you - my favorite singer from back in the day. Boy he has still got it!!
I will always put this beautiful man on the pedastal he deserves. I have followed him since 1970.
It will come the day. Love Justin just so good.
still fantastic and I love this song since I was 16
These guys are just on another level of style and sound.
Wonderful to hear. Thanks
Glad you enjoyed it Phil...
I remember the banter between Justin and Julie from the show in October, 19 in PA...only to be followed by a wonderful version of Never Comes The Day (a special favorite). Great video, Dan. Keep em coming!
Love you justin ❤❤❤❤❤south africa ❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
I was at this show and he told us of the cancellations just prior but you wouldn't know it with how good his voice was. It was just as we've always heard it. Ben a fan of him/the Moodies since I first heard him in 68. This was an exceptional show. I've seen the Moodies a bunch of times and hearing the stripped down versions of the songs really show how great they are. just timeless
talent talent talent talent....that's all I think when I see Justin play....he's so God damn talented
he is so nice sigh😀
Oh all the videos I shot that night, this was by far my favorite...
Thank you, Dan. One of the my favs.
so adorable ,what a great singersongwriter.love you justin.your concert was so good . can't wait to see you again.
Yes indeed...can't wait to see him again...it will be lovely to see you....
Thank you for sharing! Once again you captured Justin beautifully! 💙 Great to see him in good spirits and having fun! 💙
Thanks Lori for the compliments....i always try to do the Moody's justice, whether when I make a video or like this film one....I filmed about 7 more at that concert....loved it all....a memorable night indeed....
Great story from the master of the guitar and a sublime voice. Love it Justin. Thank you for sharing your skills and story. 04/24
My earlier life!! Thank you for giving peace at the end of day!! Love you and your voice forever!!!
What an incredible artist.A phenomenal performance.Thank you.
It is interesting to hear Justin sing this song when he was young and to hear it now.....it is still breathe taking.....
I wish I'd have known he was in Austin last year... I would have been there for sure. One of my fave Moody Blues songs of all time. Awesome video.
great song writer
Such a sweet guy. Love this song!
One of my all-time favorites--thank you so much for recording this, Danny!
Jill. I kept thinking...you know it almost doesn't get any better than this....Justin was just spot on....and this guy filmed it pretty good too....lol..
I have always wonder what the line "If only you knew what's inside of me now
You wouldn't want to know me somehow", meant
His voice always sooths my soul, even with a cold!
always loved this song.
I love the tempo changes in this song.
I wish I I could pick up and inanimate object like a guitar and create a work of art like he does.
Love this video, thanks for sharing.
Just noticing Mile Dawes backing up on guitar. Looking at the various versions of this song from 1969 on and in each rendition JH keeps his guitar pick handy when switching between finger picking and strumming. Cool!
I too marvel at Justin switching back n forth from strummin' and pickin'...one of my fav's....thanks for your comments.
Also, one of my most favorites. Thank you for posting this Dan.
Glad you enjoyed it Katie....yep on the 1A, 1B, 1C....of Moody fav's.....
Love this video, it's all wonderful.
It was a wonderful night. I enjoy Justin’s stories before the songs, it makes the song. Glad you enjoyed the video. I miss concerts, can’t wait to go see Justin again.
Saw this show in Burnsville Minnesota. Wish it could have lasted forever.
Pawn must mean something ELSE in British English! LOL
Dear Justin: never change.
Ann Wagner I had thought that. But then I thought maybe he felt it was below him to actually buy a guitar from a pawn shop. It made for good entertainment.
It's part, I think, of the dialect shifts across the UK. In many UK dialects the words "pawn" and "porn" are indistinguishable. It's only in the Northern dialects of the UK that the r in "porn" is lengthened and rolled
That’s a good song.
Sounds like a special tuning.
We all know that it's true...💖
Love it!! Thanks Danny!!!!
Your welcome Linda....
Just pure class

Was the jist of Justin's story that he called his German manager in to properly 'dicker' to get the price lower on the guitar? Isn't one of the rewards of being wildly popular and rich to have the ability to walk into a music store and pay full price for an instrument he really wanted??
Steven Boyce he probably doesnt carry business cards, and its just extra paperwork to transfer when the instrument will then be insured, added to tour gear, worked on, expenses. He is English, so he is very much aware of taxation...
Agree
I love this song and play it all of the time. I would rather listen to Moody Blues than any other music besides Duran Duran.
Same here! I love both the Moody Blues and the Doors.
I just watched a Fountains of Wayne song, where the singer started playing the wrong song. And now this one? How funny. After 40, those names and words start to go away. Nice he has backup!
A favorite 'old' joke. 2 couples are having dinner. The guys share a drink while the women go in the kitchen. Andy - 'we ate at a nice neighborhood restaurant last month.' Bob - 'what was it called?' Andy thinks... 'I don't remember. What is the name of that flower with thorns, that smells so nice?' Bob - A rose? 'Yeah'. He hollers into the kitchen - 'Hey Rose - what was the name of that restaurant?'...
😇🙏💖🐦🤗💐
Yeah, heard it before.
Guitar addiction. Serious stuff. But that Guild sure sounds fine in open D under Justin’s hands…
damm him and his old school cosmic energy. why can't he play in charlotte !
I have had to travel to see him...so I hear ya.....worth the travel...
Looks like you're getting Charlotte now!
fitman - traveling from far west Texas to Denver in June to see The Moodies on the Days of Future Passed 50th anniversary tour. I'd circle the world.
Gwen! I am also in West Texas, but sadly, cannot make such a trip! Hope you will post back and let us know it goes!
Alternative tuning?
I love Justin, but I need subtitles for this. I couldn't understand a thing he said.
:)
My mom had the exact type. Crack and all. Served her well. Hope that one does for you as well.
And so wonderful to hear you singing again.
Is that justins daughter on the keyboards ?
No that is Julie Ragins....
No..his daughter didn't get any of his musical talent.
Julie Ragins hails from ALASKA USA.
@@vduncan54 I wouldn't say that, do you personally know her?
