One of my most favorite Moody Blues songs, I Love. I am imagining or recalling a nice autumn day riding through the countryside in my car listening to N.C.A.D. and must stop in a secluded & beautiful place in Nature and become totally absorbed in this song, as time slows way, way down, and weeping tears of joy with the powerful feeling of being completely & deeply human and ONE with everything that IS ! ! ! This is what Anais Nin referred to becoming deeply personal or human is the path or process of reaching or finding the UNIVERSAL !

I'm 62 yrs old and liked the Moody Blues since I first heard "Nights in White Satin" in 9th grade.
But seems only recently I've rediscovered them and now love and appreciate the extent of their talents.

    "Never Comes The Day"
Work away today, work away tomorrow.
Never comes the day for my love and me.
I feel her gently sighing as the evening slips away.
If only you knew what's inside of me now
You wouldn't want to know me somehow,
    But
    You will love me tonight,
    We alone will be alright,
    In the end.
Give just a little bit more
    Take a little bit less
    From each other tonight
    Admit what you're feeling
And see what's in front of you,
It's never out of your sight.
    You know it's true,
We all know that it's true.
Work away today, think about tomorrow
Never comes the day for my love and me.
I feel her gently sighing as the evening slips away.
If only you knew what's inside of me now
You wouldn't want to know me somehow,
    But
    You will love me tonight,
    We alone will be alright,
    In the end.
Give just a little bit more
    Take a little bit less
    From each other tonight
    Admit what you're feeling
And see what's in front of you,
It's never out of your sight.
    You know it's true,
We all know that it's true.
    Lyrics: Justin Hayward

If you listen to his singing through the years, he never strained his voice. Too many rock vocalists stress their vocal cords with screaming and bad singing technique. Justin didn't. I don't know if he had formal vocal training or not, but he sings like he had some excellent training or coaching. That, combined with good vocal techniques and training would help maintain his voice, even despite smoking. There's a lot to be said for doing things properly for best results.

I think i have loved the moody blues my whole life and why because the take you someplace special in your mind .
Like flying like a bird. Playing in the leaves. Dreaming of seagulls on a beach . I think its getting out of this place called civilization for a moment .
I think the connection between all moody blues fans is when we leave here were sll gonna wake up on some beach by a cool castle somewhere . I tell you ive seen the feathers .even tho my back only itches right now.
Comon moody blues fans am i right or what

He is a total professional . Very few groups last as long as they have, They were always outside the music mainstream in Australia. I would love to see them live. Any version of them playing this fantastic special song is superb. Love it! Probably my favourite song ever. It is just sublime.I love the way musos of this caliber play around with arrangements. This song is so beautiful I think that may be the way it should have been played.

I love that Julie sings the high parts, that John can no longer reach. Not as good as the original, but still pretty good. Even the Beach Boy have a stand-in to sing all the high part that Brian can no longer reach due to old age.

      There is massive overcompensation,
the wiggy one overcompensating does not make this very beautiful song work well.
Even Norda over did it with harmonica.
Was everybody on drugs, so wig one could dominate the song?
Can't believe John Lodge was even there.
20 yrs down the Pike, over compensating still singing with.
      Switch channels.
      She is sad, low quality.

With Justin's Voice pitch you need a voice with more depth like Ray for it to work and the harmonica is trying too hard - oh I just like the sound of the Moody Blues as they were - I have been totally spoilt and if the fans are still buying tickets - it's all a matter of choice.... He still has a fabulous voice Full of emotion and clarity.

      Astute observation.
Backup singer is a very sad Joke, compared to John Lodge.
Birds does appear to overcompensate .
Thank goodness Grahame Edge kept the beat.
Is the blonde wigged wom supposed to be a great singer?
      Never was, never will be.
What she has been affiliated with Moodies for 20 yrs.
Must be good at carrying baggage.
      Sad excuse for
      The Moody Blues.
