You know, for a lot of bands and performers who became quite famous back in the day, the small percentage of them that are still performing, often perform rather dull and uninspired shows in which the magic of their originals is missing, as if they are bored to tears with or are simply sick of their old songs. And so while other such bands appear to be dinosaurs who are merely "phoning it in," Justin's Moody songs are just perfectly rendered, passionate, and in as great a voice and execution as ever! His music is being played as powerful and fresh as if it had just been written. The Moodies - as is Justin - were perfectionists, and it showed. And they had the best sound engineers of their time! And his voice is still incredible! The fellow just has such grace, style and humbleness about him - almost as if he's as amazed as everyone else that he's been so blessed to have been a key part of an amazing musical legacy - that CONTINUES in excellence.

If I had to choose one last song to hear, this would be it. Justin's beautiful voice, the poignant lyrics, the orchestration bring me to tears every time. Whether they are tears of joy (sometimes), tears of sorrow (sometimes) or tears of hope (always), this song has the ability to reach deep inside my mind and heart - maybe even my soul. Thank you Justin and Ray for so much beauty in one small song.

I'm with you all about this song, Justin and the Moodies in general. Heck, I've been blessed to see and hear the band about 30 times since their sell-outs at MSG in the early '70s right through their DOFP 50th concert tour, during which I saw them at the SPAC in Saratoga. They never disappointed. And seeing Justin numerous times in his concerts in recent years has always been a special experience. We all know they've been underrated and even overlooked so often over the decades. Still, how great it's been that we have enjoyed and cherished their music. I'll add, while I love, Justin, John and Graeme, I'd like to toast the incredible song-writing, singing and creative talents of both Ray Thomas (including this song) and Mike Pinder. Cheers to them all, and thank you so much for enhancing my life.

@@TheAslterp Absolutely. Way back when I lived in LA the Moodies were selling out the big arenas. But I must say, I enjoy the small, Boston area venues with Justin's current group just as much, maybe even more so.

This is the song the band thought was the next best thing to Nights and they expected it would be a huge single, except that it didn’t even touch the charts. Not because it wasn’t a great tune but by 1969 when this came out most Moodies fans were just buying the albums so singles weren’t really important to them anymore. Definitely one of my particular favourites, really stirs the emotions. Saw Justin a few years back on a solo tour.and my daughter.and myself enjoyed it more than a Moodies gig. The songs he performs solo are so suited to this more acoustic environment.

So beautiful…he’s such a genius man. Where have I been? I’m catching up on all the years of The Moody Blues. I loved them in the early 60’s & I didn’t realize Justin Hayward has kept singing after all those years. Two are gone, Ray & Graeme, I feel sad that they’re gone.😪♥️ I see that Justin loves to perform in the U.S., it’s where I live. Don’t know if he’ll continue, now that he’s in his upper 70’s, but his voice was fantastic in his older age…what a beautiful man!
Seems to be a trend on the comments board here...nobody seems to remember when or where they may/may not have been at a given gig. What was being smoked at these things...Whacky Weed?!?
I play as many of his songs as I can make sound decent as a solo acoustic player. He is truly marvelous as were all "The Moodys". Got to play with Denny Laine at Fur Peace Ranch a few years ago may he rest in peace.
And having listened to a lot of Moody's music, never heard this one before. Had some I recorded to cassette (much better than pre-recorded), and would play just about the whole thing, as I had a 30+ mile 1 way drive 2 week 4 several years.

No Linda it sure doesn’t. Can’t wait to see him again in concert. He is sorely missed. First time at his concert having front row seats. He must have looked at me a dozen times. I felt like de was looking into my soul. A haunting feeling that warms the soul.
Best is yet to come. Voices in the sky.

Hi Linda it’s my pleasure to meet you. Thank you for the love and passion you have for my music career I really appreciate you.
Where are you from
I've watched Moody blues for the last 50 years maybe 52 years, I've been an amphitheaters outdoors with thunderstorms and lightning and they always pulled it off the world's best rock band thank you Justin and Jeremy and Mike and everybody else for making them world's most beautiful music that makes you think about everything when you're down you'll pick you up and still make you think.
Justin's voice still as pristine as ever!!2018 HOF get ready for the MOODIES!! xxx
totally is!
Hi Kathy. Thank you for the love and support you have for my music career I appreciate you from my heart. Where are you from?
Brings back so many memories … 💔
Reminds me of my youth! Never forget having played that album over and over again. Moodies forever ❤
Hi
We saw him in Copenhagen ,was it 2017? And it was so fantastic! He has the voice of a God! Still!!
Seems to be a trend on the comments board here...nobody seems to remember when or where they may/may not have been at a given gig. What was being smoked at these things...Whacky Weed?!?
Hello Martin
I play as many of his songs as I can make sound decent as a solo acoustic player. He is truly marvelous as were all "The Moodys". Got to play with Denny Laine at Fur Peace Ranch a few years ago may he rest in peace.
Hey Mike
One of Jusin's very Best!🎶🎵😎☝🎀💢😍🤗
One of my Top 5 Justin's songs
Hi Peter
I could never figure out why Hayward / lodges never was up there in writers and composers like with McCartney / lennon
@ Well said Richard.
There's Politics everywhere there's money. Glad the Moodys didn't play that game and let their music stand alone.
Promotional money.
And having listened to a lot of Moody's music, never heard this one before. Had some I recorded to cassette (much better than pre-recorded), and would play just about the whole thing, as I had a 30+ mile 1 way drive 2 week 4 several years.
Richard I must have missed something in The Moodies catalog...which ones are “sublime”?
The Lovely song. I can listen to it over and over
Perfect! Another lovely share, thank you, Dan!

My favorite song of Justin's. I listen to it every week. Just makes me want to think about my life and the journey(s) it has taken on...and will continue to. It appears Justin is moved by this song as well.
True master of music.
So simple and so beautiful!
One voice and one guitar, is only and one excelent and wonderfull song…thanks Justin 👏👏

Where are you from?
Ripped my heart out from the first chord. Such memories some not very good. This song helped a lot
this was my favorite song during my 1st marriage doomed to fail. I was 20 yrs. of age getting close to divorcing. That was in 1969 right after my son was born. Tough times, the Moody Blues music saved me, to "keep the faith," as John Lodge says at the end of their concerts/ Love the Moody Blues forever, resonating with True hearts.
Hi Ana, thank you for the love and support you have for my music career I appreciate you from my heart.

"Living in a Land of Make Believe." great song too = "Story in your eyes," i could go on and on. Also want to apologize if i sound like a "weirdo" saying.... "originally from Venus" ...am a professional Astrologer so my thinking is "that" way.. I used to have a "Moody Blues" radio show for 5 years.was a "DJ." I picked a theme then chose songs out of 17 albums = all Moodies and solo albums from the Moodies. I would go over astrological charts for each on your birthdays and play only those songs written by the "birthday person." Everyone loved my program... "Positively Moody Blues," radio show. Have been to many many concerts....many. Bless you Justin. Your high consciousness inspires us all. I love it that you've been married for such a long time. How fortunate you two are.!!!!
It drips with melancholy.
truly a masterpiece
This may be their best if not in the top 5. Tears.
Just in time, Justin ✌️💜✌️🖤💛✌️🖤 you healed a heart ❤️ so broken 💔 filling all the broken 💔 pieces 💔 with the craY glue that is lovely 🌹 love 💕

Beautiful ! One of my favorite Moody Blues songs.
Hi Paul
I’m a big fan I love the Moody blues
Hey Paul
Absolutely Superb!!!! The Voice The Guitar, Everyone in the Band, Everything!!!! Thank You Justin!!!
Great performance! It's interesting to see who is able to keep their singing voice as they age. Gordon Lightfoot lost his completely, but Justin still sounds great.
Elton Johns voice is completely gone as well
I finally got to see him in Madison this year. We are so fortunate he still loves performing. I’m a lifetime fan.
I could use another performance myself....
I LOVE the story about the ticket scalper at Madison, etc.--so glad you recorded this. What a beautiful song, and equally beautiful video!
