Skyrim Battles - Rahgot vs. Pyromancer, Lord Harkon, Karstaag, and more

- I want to feature some more Dragon Priests in my videos. This time, it's Rahgot's turn! A fire-based Priest, he'll be a challenge for those who lack the proper resistance.
The unique masked Dragon Priests on mainland Skyrim usually perform worse than their generic counterparts, because their staves are relatively bad compared to their regular destruction spells. The staves can be good, but NPCs can't use them smartly like the player does. As a small benefit, they won't run out of magicka, but Dragon Priests regenerate magicka quickly, so this is usually not much of a problem for them anyway.
Raghot's staff is much less useful against Karstaag than the other opponents in this episode, because Rahgot aims too high and directly at Karstaag's body, rather than at the ground. That means the ground won't be on fire and Rahgot needs to keep Karstaag under constant attack. Furthermore, the lingering effect on the ground does much more damage than the direct hit, so even if Rahgot keeps attacking, it isn't enough to do significant damage to Karstaag, although it does keep him from regenerating.
It's not the most balanced battle, but it's still pretty cool to see. Most other NPCs in the game could not deal with Rahgot and the 4 Draugr Deathlords. The Ebony Warrior can, but he keeps getting staggered by their shouts, making for a very slow and rather boring fight, so I picked Karstaag. It also shows again how powerful Karstaag is, even if he's getting attacked with fire.

Highly reccomend *Truly Lord Harkon* . Like *Queen of the Damned- Serana* and *Arch Curate Vyrthur Himself* it makes him stronger, gives him various resistances and even mechanics to make him proper boss but without going too far.

1. Rahgot is probably my favorite of the vanilla Dragon Priests, with Nahkriin a close second. Mainly cause of the lore of the dungeon he's the final boss of.
Most of his followers commiting mass suicide so that the ancient Nords who had been sieging the fortress would not dare go further is *messed up* , especially since it actually worked. Seeing the dead bodies of men, women and children made them, understandibly, turn the hell around and never look back.
2. To play devil's advocate, putting Harkon against a magic enemy that uses *fire* was always gonna be an uphill battle

Oh yeah, I remember parts of that, and the room with the deathbell.
2. I wasn't quite sure if Rahgot could make it because he's much worse than a generic Dragon Priest, and lost badly against a Nightlord Vampire. But Harkon apparently is terrible enough 😂
Would Freya, j'zargo, or almost any dawnguard follower (exept for two) be a good alternate to falx carius since they all don't have a level cap?
Falx is better than any of them. Frea is probably still the best out of those, and J'zargo does great against mages if he's at a very high level (not so much otherwise).
Falx' damage is the main factor that makes him great, plus his high level multiplier of 1.5, which is better than what most other NPCs in the game have 😄

@@imbbgamer1012 They are as weak as they are tanky. 😂 I don't use them in my videos because they do no damage but take forever to kill
J'zargo only ever casts Sparks for me, so idk how well he'd do. Ralis will clown on just about anyone except Karstaag and maybe the Ebony Warrior.
What about Boethiah's champion against falx calius(for example) or wrathmans (wonder how they'll do against kaarstag since they have more hp and frost resistence in comparision with dremoraz
The Champion of Boethiah is really weak, so I've only used him in a single round so far (against Sheogorath). He would do absoutely nothing against Falx. 😅 Wrathmen are okay-ish, but I'm not sure if I want an episode with them, partly because there are different versions which differ from the summonable ones, so people would be confused
Lmao the draugr team did absolutely nothing to karstaag
He probably could have beaten twice as many 😂
The deathlords are the only ones who can take down Karstagg because they’re brilliant at archery and they just take him apart from far range.
Forelhost is such a great boss room.
Does ragot do the same or more damage than zakrosis?
It's pretty good, yeah!
Hard to tell because he's really inconsistent. I would say it's comparable at best, but the tendency is probably lower
@@lSlendermaster why lower? Aren't the stats the same? Just that zakrosis spell is instantaneous
@@callumtorrance9180 Not at all, no. 😂 Zahkriisos spell is concentration, so it's not instant. Rahgot's wall of flames is too, but it works differently and is less consistant. The 50 points per second are not accurate
Did you try the last round w/ Karstag more times? With more draugar? I felt like it was a decent match (frost resistant draugar + a fire focused dragon priest) but it wasn't even close. Seemed like Karstag could've easily taken twice as many.
I did test it many times, but only with the draugr that naturally spawned there. Yes, Karstaag could easily take more, but the idea was to have everyone from Rahgot's boss room team up 😄
