Black vinegar: Mix 1 part balsamic, 1 part rice wine vinegar and 3 parts water. Avoid syrupy or sweet balsamic. Can also sub rice vinegar. Recipe link in description. Leave out chili oil and or chili flakes if stomach is sensitive.
If you wanna make a butter sauce version, I'd recommend this! On a hot pan put your butter, add as much soy sauce as you want. Let it heat up so you get that smokey flavour. Then I added the pepper flakes, garlic, and vinegar. I liked adding roasted coriander (cilantro) and sesame seeds at the end. Your noodles don't really matter, but I found chow mein noodles to have a good springyness to it. I like butter sauces better because they don't require really hot oil, but it's all up to you on your flavour profile 🥰🥰

Try adding freshly ground Szechuan pepper before you pour in the hot oil. Personally I prefer a good Aceto Balsamico over Chinese black vinegar in my dishes, but to each his own.

I made this, and it was pretty good. I took her advice and customized it by adding a little sugar, curry powder, and instead of just seame seed. I used rice seasoning, which has seame seed and seaweed.

I never learned anything about Asian cooking but I rushed out to the local Asian grocery store and got the ingredients. I made this recipe. It was AMAZING. But not cheap. I spent over $30 (US). There's still plenty of sesame oil and black vinegar in the bottles so I can make it again, but it's still not cheap.
Does your recipe actually mean 3 tablespoons of black vinegar or is that a typo? I made it a few weeks ago and was shocked that it said 3 tablespoons. I was excited to make this recipe, but had to throw it away because there was just way too much vinegar.

Add that soysauce oil mix to pretty much any base food, and it's great. I do it for cucumber salad

I think it's separate. And the boiling oil is probably any flavorless oil like canola or vegetable oil or palm oil.
The homemade chili oil is the chunky stuff, the end is just your regular cooking oil heated until it's hot enough to fry.
The hot oil she adds is just a plain oil like canola or vegetable oil.

Depends on the bottle size you bought. These ingredients definitely is staple in cooking so if you got the "western" size, it's not budget friendly.
