- I have built so many DIY coffee tables in my years of DIY projects! This Modern Chunky Coffee Table is no exception! I built this guy with just 12 - 2x6 and 4 - 2x4 boards. Total cost in lumber was right under $100! Click the link below for the full set of printable plans, the how-to tutorial and links to all the products I used to build it!

My son, Adam, and I just completed this coffee table and it looks amazing. Thank you so very much for sharing your work and designs. Peter
I am so gonna build this for our living room as soon as we get done with my son's wedding. Great design, I love the look!!!
Congratulations to you!! Thank you ❤❤❤
It is very interesting to see women at work! You know how to cheer up!
Looks great
Good job, and nice to see people who do not take themselves too seriously.
Thank you! We have fun building together 😁
Ladies, that table is fantastic! Cute ladies!
Thanks for sharing
Good Job!
You could cut four scrap pieces to offset the bottom at the right height. And clamp the scraps to the legs to hold up your bottom so you can still see your pocket holes on the bottom.
Great idea! It’s so hard to plan for these issues before we build 🙃
Beautiful!!! I have to make this! Please make a video for matching side tables lol - I can recreate, but I cannot design for my life. Math and I do not get along. :)
Thank you! We’ll get on it ❤
Hi Gals thank you so much for sharing this cool table with us. You ladies make it so easy for us to build and afford lovely furniture. What colour stain did you use on it please. Thanks again Chris
Thank you! We did link to it in the post on our site - it’s western oak by varathane!
Do you plane your boards first?
Great work but how long did it take to build?
Love it, will you so pleased to tell me what program did you use to design it??
Thank you! Sketch up!
Who let tha dogs out?!?!? Let remember Suckers keep chewing so you guys can keep making more tables 😂💯🤣💯. Always a pleasure to see a video from you guys. Hoping all is well guys, Dirty Jersey out!!
Lol! Thank you so much!
I imagine that for that method of levelling the boards, said boards would have to be planed to exactly the same thickness right?
Cheers from Malta !
We don’t use a planer for any of our table tops. We showed in this video how we get a smooth surface ☺️
Are we using briar-smoke? I love that color👍 thanks for sharing the fun !❤
Western Oak! Very close, they quit making briarsmoke but love this color as much!
what does it weigh? 800 lbs?
Pottery Barn is showing something very similar.
At 10x the price 😆
Safety man here: wearing hoodies, let alone hoodies with dangly draw strings, around rotating equipment is a safety no-no. The machines will grab the hood, loose fitting clothing, or those draw strings, pull you into it, and rip half your face off before you know what’s happening. 👍🏼
What finish do you use?
I linked it in the post on our site. Western Oak by Varathane!
I love the look!! Serious question who was the first to stub their toes on it?😂 It’s got to be 1000 lbs…
All toes are safe but we definitely were sore after the build 😆
Too cold outside?? You girls are from Fort Worth!! Where are you that's too cold? It's the middle of summer in Texas!
We shoot our videos in groups in one day to share later. It’s easier for us to do that with the distance we live apart and our kids schedules! This was shot back in March.
😄👍💖
Time for a jointer and plainer…
We’ve never had the need for one ☺️
HUGE THUMBS DOWN BECAUSE YOU KILLED THE SPIDER. SHAME ON YOU.
