I really like that PSA. Basically reminds us that just because a guy looks tough, doesn't mean he is an abductor. And reminds us the actual truth that the majority of child abductions are by parents and loved ones, usually in defiance of a custody order.
17:54 You loved My Pet Monster as a kid. And as an adult, it went on to give you an existential crisis that started this whole crazy commercial series 😄
I love how after nearly 10 years with her on the cast, Doug still goes out of his way to make wonderfully wholesome Tamara look as psychotic as possible 😆To be fair, she does it too well...
I think what also made the PSA worked is that they showed that even women can be predators too. In a society where female predators are often looked over, it's nice to see a PSA where it tells its audience that women can be just as bad as men when it comes to abuse and predatory behavior.
@@jenneacubero1036because to catch a predator is a shit show that tries to make it seem like every grown man in America is trying to do stuff with someone's daughter.
On the topic of Zelda commercials, I still think my all time favorite has to be the Robin Williams one where he’s narrating for the Ocarina of Time 3DS commercial, describing the adventure he went on to find the princess while clips of the game are shown, then it cuts to his daughter (also named Zelda) saying “are you confusing me with the princess again?” and without missing a beat he goes “well it’s hard to say; you’re both pretty magical.” It’s so sweet and wholesome and never fails to put a smile on my face.
He's come full circle: the first commercial special came (in-universe) from the fallout of the My Pet Monster movie review, and now an ad for the toy itself was included in one of the specials.
That PSA is pretty accurate. Also, if you're a gal and you think you're in danger, if you see a rough looking biker, they are likely to help. I don't care if it's a guy in full Hell's Angels or Banditos gear, you have a pretty good shot, and you can easily end up with a full crew at your side in moments. Kidnappers are rarely who you expect, and SA in children is generally done by close friends and family.
Is it so hard to like, stick with one comment instead of saying the exact same thing but with different words? It's like you're a friggin' bot but you're actually real.

Today was a shitshow at work. Worst day I've had all year, but coming home to see there is a new commercial video out made it all worth it. Doug, Malcolm, Tamara, and everyone else, thank you. Happy Thanksgiving. 😊
Had a pretty terrible day with my dog passing today. This is some very much needed comfort for today. Thank you Doug and Company for making this possible ❤️
@@chainsawjed2104 I know this may sound offensive, but back in high school, when I told my homeroom teacher about my dog dying, she laughed.... LAUGHED!(yes, you heard that right!) So naturally, I was pissed at her reaction. And I hope a lot of pet owners agree with me?
First one I watched was the one with the PSA that had someone put a gun to a dog's head. And then I checked out the ones prior. So yeah, I recognize every single one of those! 😨😂
God, I remember the “dino damage” Jurassic Park Dinosaur toys looking so freaking cool. Most kids I knew didn’t even bother saving the coverings to make them look uninjured. Why bother!? Also, it’s fun to think this series started as the Critic’s therapeutic response to being insulted by the director of the My Pet Monster movie, and at long last the toy itself had its commercial reviewed. It’s cool to look at how far this series has come. Thank you for another great special!!
Those jurassic park toys really brought me back to when I was a kid. I had the jeep, the t-rex, and the triceratops. The commercial videos are always nostalgia overload.
I'm convinced that the general plan for old Zelda commercials was "Just go nuts, these games are so great that any commercial we make won't do any harm," with this being the rare case of that actually being correct.
I’ve been watching these nostalgia critic commercial videos for over 10 years now and I always wait for them to come out every November because they always release around my birthday
OH MY GOD! All those Bill Cosby jokes are hilarious! 😂 Also, you reviewing the “My Pet Monster” commercials was very appropriate as your review of the “My Pet Monster” movie was what somehow got you into reviewing commercials to begin with.
What a great special! Enjoyed the Klondike bar skit, Roy Rogers hat, and Wrigley gum. The big one I most wanted was the one with the hilarious Sprite commercials! I also loved the PSA with the twist ending. Great job, Doug!
The Bravestarr toys were pretty awesome. Articulation was limited, but each came with both a springloaded action gimmick like a quickdraw arm as well as a laser-tag backpack that would interact with other toys in the line. THey also had a line of kid sized roleplay lazertag inspired guns too. THere's a company doing updated homages to the original line (no official license, just "obviously inspired by" design) which is neat to see.
Another Fun Fact: The "I'd like to buy the world a Coke" commercial in the early 1970s was so popular that people called local TV stations to request it.
COMMERCIALS TIME HELL YEAH the vibe of these videos is always so chill. they're the ones i look forward to the most every year after the halloween season ends! weird commercials are just such a universal thing among all cultures and generations and they are fun as hell to watch and talk about. much love to ya doug
29:40 lol, Doug being surprised by the origins of the PSA. The moment he said "I found a good PSA for this one" I instantly just ASSUMED it will be from Canada.
I just want to chime in and say that these commercial videos are litterally my favorite videos released each year. They are so good. I'm so happy to see this has been a yearly tradition and it continues to be so!
It is an absolutely fantastic Thanksgiving with the nostalgia critic does commercials and thus I would like to thank the nostalgia critic and all of his family and friends a Happy Thanksgiving and making my Wednesday feel better ❤
Last year’s commercial special ended with Doug, Jim, Tamara and Malcolm watching a Japanese ad for Sakuru Gummies. There was a part with a commercial for Chicken Limbo in it where the Critic thinks a chicken was high as hell on pain medication. How weird was that? Even the critic looking at me during the charity shoutout reminded me of an ad for SeaWorld featuring Shamu the Killer Whale in it.
Bill Cosby officially starred in many Jell-O commercials back in the 80’s & 90’s. He even starred in a few commercials for Kodak Film. Too bad he wasn’t around anymore.
Was not expecting DDLC references in this commercials episode! Also, great to see the PSAs are back. I fell for the twist in that one too! And the ending had me in stitches...figuratively, of course.
The Tamara bit with the klondike bar reminded me of a post I saw once, where someone said the ultimate version of the ad would show a little girl siting on a bench. The "What would you do for a klondike bar?" sound bite would play, and the camera would slowly zoom in on the girl's face, as she leaned forward as well, and whispered "I'd kill a man." The next shot would have the camera on its side and show her happily eating her ice cream.
Another excellent commercials video. This is one of my favorite holiday traditions. My favorite part was when the Critic found himself in the Canadian PSAs. Every once in a while, I like to watch all the prior commercial videos in a complication video. Thank you.
Best review of the year. This has become a tradition for my wife and myself. We grew up in the 90s/2000s so most of these commercials are nostalgia for us. Thank you channel awesome for continuing to be awesome
20:02 I love the callback to My Pet Monster, seeing as how it was Critic’s depression from a phone call to its creator that started this whole commercial saga in the first place!
I wasn't a big fan of the last few commercial specials, mainly cuz they felt like mostly modern commercials and "meme commercials", but this one felt like a much needed return to form. Really good.
I was just about to say that actually. The last ones didn't really felt nostalgic except for the extremely overrated Dark & Lonely Water PSA. The last good set of scary PSAs where back in 2019. I'm glad we didn't have the gross doll ones that go to the bathroom this time. I'm still surprised The Critic didn't reviewed the kinder Humpty Dumpty, The Judderman & the Battery Family yet.
ive asked for years but it fills my heart with joy to see you finally talk about the commercials for kenner's jurassic park toys doug. Now this old man can sleep soundly
My Pet Monster was what initially made NC review these commercials, and now -- in the most recent one -- he's covering a My Pet Monster commercial. It's all come full circle!
I'm shocked at how lighthearted this was. the past few ad vids had gotten so dark that I was expecting to see how dark this would get. and to my delight, it didn't .
Great selection this year. I'm glad you finally did the My Pet Monster toy commercial. I'm just shocked you didn't do two specific ones. When you covered the Sprite Obey Your Thirst commercials, you didn't mention the best one involving the kid getting to meet WCW wrestler Sting. I don't need to say how hilarious that one is. Also one day you need to cover the Robin and Zelda Williams Legend of Zelda commercials. Honestly if you ever need a palate cleanser and a reason to cry, those commercials will do it. You could honestly see the joy in his face talking about the very series that inspired his daughter's name (true fact, look it up).
heres the thing about bravestar: it was really important. It done by the guy that did He-Man and She-Ra, explicitly because he noticed there werent any toys or kids shows were native americans were the heroes - so he made one. It was made out of the want to be inclusive and equitable, and I love it for that.
I really hope for this year's commercials, he talks about the Werebears, a toyline from the UK. The way they have the cute-to-creepy thing is a lot like Feisty Pets, but I'd also say they're also pretty similar to My Pet Monster, where the Werebears can sometimes look creepy, but telling by the story tapes that came with each toy in the toyline, they're just the sweetest things ever 😭
I love the fact that the CWF PSA ends with the little girl taking the whistle from the expecting mother and being like "Oooh... if I blow this whistle, can I land Jimmy?" I'm pretty sure that was their thoughts when making that PSA.
I highly recommend you watch the "Sugar Rice Krinkles" commercials next. They were the first ads to make me say "I will take literally ANY other mascot than the clown", immediately followed by "go back to the clown, go back to the clown!"
*Alpha:* Aye aye aye! The rangers stopped fighting to watch Who's The Boss? *Zordon:* Alpha, call Tommy and the Dragonzord! *Alpha:* I can't! He's watching Family Matters. *Zordon:* God damn it, who put TV's in the giant robots anyway?
I would like to make some Disneycember requests: Secrets of Sulphur Springs! This is the channel's first attempt at a drama since the early 2000s and does a great job keeping the audience's attention and keeping them guessing while not talking down to them! They may not have the same amount of shock value or hilarious jokes that Amphibia and The Owl House are famous for, but compared to so many live action kids shows from the 2020s, it's a step above the rest! I'd also love to hear your thoughts on other Disney projects like the Disneymania CD series or The Wonderful World of Disney anthology movies or the now defunct Radio📻 Disney!

To be fair if someone offered me a Klondike bar I would do 100 pushups, run around in circles saying "I'm a vampire!" and I'd play hopscotch with Christopher Walken.
Roy Rogers also endorsed the Nissan Patrol in the ‘60s. Yeah, that's right: Nissan didn't actually start using the Nissan name in the west in the '80s: American Datsun dealerships briefly sold the Patrol (a small two-door SUV, like the FJ40 or Jeep Wrangler) under the Nissan name. There was also a small batch of Cedrics brought over around the same time, but that was more of a field test. In both cases, the Datsun name was not applied. The Patrol was just sold as a Nissan through Datsun dealerships without so much as an, "Oh, by the way, Nissan is what we call our cars in the home market. We just didn't tell you because we didn't want you to figure out we supplied trucks and airplanes to the guys who attacked Pearl Harbor."

In the next one, he should really do the stop motion yogo gorilla commercials, that would be awesome !
26:12-26:19
I forgot how much I loved this specific commercial. Simple, yet beautiful.
I’ve been watching these nostalgia critic commercial videos for over 10 years now and I always wait for them to come out every November because they always release around my birthday
I'd always get excited for these Nostalgia Critic Commercials video every year
The only other thing besides Thanksgiving to look forward to every November.
OH MY GOD! All those Bill Cosby jokes are hilarious! 😂
Also, you reviewing the “My Pet Monster” commercials was very appropriate as your review of the “My Pet Monster” movie was what somehow got you into reviewing commercials to begin with.
That's Right! Also, Ponderosa Tie in with Leonard Part 6? No wonder why Ponderosa is Defunct now.
I did not knew about those toys, but I loved all the lore and backstory they put behind it.
I’m surprised Doug didn’t talk about that creepy a$$ horse character from Bravestarr.
Was that Jonathan Frakes narrating the commercial too?
30:08
Tamara: "... I never did get that Klondike Bar, did I Critic?!" 😡
Another Fun Fact: The "I'd like to buy the world a Coke" commercial in the early 1970s was so popular that people called local TV stations to request it.
and then Coke released it as a full single
Tsk. Ain't that crazy. Imagine going outta your way to ASK for commercials. Man, such a thing could've only happen back then.
@@PurpleWind64 do you have any idea how popular MJ's Pepsi ads were? they even showed up on TV guide listings
@@iHeartsNostalgiaPit Weren't the Ray Charles ads popular too? The song is so catchy.
I think you commented on the wrong video
COMMERCIALS TIME HELL YEAH
the vibe of these videos is always so chill. they're the ones i look forward to the most every year after the halloween season ends! weird commercials are just such a universal thing among all cultures and generations and they are fun as hell to watch and talk about. much love to ya doug
We love making these. Thanks for watching!
Another year of great commercials. I always look forward to these every November and I can't wait to see next year's.
Thanks for watching!!
Ik I'm 8 months late but I hope that the Werebears are on the next one. They're extremely underrated
It is an absolutely fantastic Thanksgiving with the nostalgia critic does commercials and thus I would like to thank the nostalgia critic and all of his family and friends a Happy Thanksgiving and making my Wednesday feel better ❤
Day 52 waiting for the ,,G-force" movie review by the ,,Nostalgia Critic" Pretty please!
This feels like a return to form from the team. Much snappier jokes, classic writing. Good job all!
Canada Dry had an awesome commercial with Scott Bakula, with a catchy jingle and dance number. Thats totally worth checking next commercial special.
23:15 I keep hearing "Creepy little baby and I love you" 🤣
Last year’s commercial special ended with Doug, Jim, Tamara and Malcolm watching a Japanese ad for Sakuru Gummies.
Commercials are definitely the gift that keeps on giving. Happy Thanksgiving!
Happy Thanksgiving!
@@ChannelAwesomehappy thanksgiving 🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉❤❤❤❤
A thanksgiving tradition!! Love these retro commercials
Thanks for watching!!
Day 52 waiting for the ,,G-force" movie review by the ,,Nostalgia Critic" Pretty please!
You forgot to point out the fact that the man in the Zelda commercial is John Kassir. The voice of The Cryptkeeper from Tales From The Crypt.
29:43 Sign up for it expeting a twist like in the add huh? The twist is a heart attack
A time-honored tradition watching commercials with Nostalgia Critic! Thanks Doug I know I'm going to have a fun time watching this!
Was not expecting DDLC references in this commercials episode! Also, great to see the PSAs are back. I fell for the twist in that one too! And the ending had me in stitches...figuratively, of course.
Just Me 😂
The Tamara bit with the klondike bar reminded me of a post I saw once, where someone said the ultimate version of the ad would show a little girl siting on a bench. The "What would you do for a klondike bar?" sound bite would play, and the camera would slowly zoom in on the girl's face, as she leaned forward as well, and whispered "I'd kill a man."
The next shot would have the camera on its side and show her happily eating her ice cream.
This episode was pure viewing satisfaction.
💯
Jesus that Monika reveal caught me off guard. I didn’t even know Doug knew about Doki Doki Literature Club!
Well he is a big gamer after all. Even if you're not a visual novel fan but at least big into gaming, you most likely you know what DDLC is.
Please do more sponsorships with Chaplin! That was hilarious!
ive asked for years but it fills my heart with joy to see you finally talk about the commercials for kenner's jurassic park toys doug. Now this old man can sleep soundly
@29:14 yea it's like the transformers movie where you thought the police car was the autobot but it's really the deceptacon
Signs that Christmas is getting closer:
Colder weather,
Longer nights,
A new Nostalgia Critic commercials episode.
Ok, this is by far the funniest commercials episode to me only because of 16:36. That cutoff scream was PERFECT!😂
heres the thing about bravestar: it was really important.
You know it's a good day when you get another amazing video from The NC talking about commercials!
God I love these. Something like watching commercials with a big nerdy family lmao
Couldn't click fast enough! These commercial specials have given hours of laughter! Thanks, NC!
every year when a new one comes out i binge watch all of them together .it makes thanksgiving that much better for me .
I love the fact that the CWF PSA ends with the little girl taking the whistle from the expecting mother and being like "Oooh... if I blow this whistle, can I land Jimmy?" I'm pretty sure that was their thoughts when making that PSA.
Enjoy all NC episodes but really love the commercial episodes. They are some personal favorites, keep up the awesome job!
That gun in a hat is a villain origin story waiting to happen.
Such a nice feeling knowing another year we could get another great video from the NC talking about commercials
The klondike bar commercial with the dart board is like something out of Wilkins Coffee. And the gun hat looks like something out of Spy Vs Spy.
It’s always a grand joy to watch your yearly Commercials reviews!
Love the Klondike bar commercials that question lives in my head rent free
So true
It's that most wonderful time of the year... COMMERCIALS! Happy Thanksgiving to all of you. Thank you for brightening our days with excellent content.
We're having Thanksgiving a day early, so I am beyond thankful to have this treat for tonight. ♥️
It’s funny how the review of my pet monster lead to this tradition of commercials
I highly recommend you watch the "Sugar Rice Krinkles" commercials next. They were the first ads to make me say "I will take literally ANY other mascot than the clown", immediately followed by "go back to the clown, go back to the clown!"
23:00
I work in elder care and we had to stop letting the old ladies have baby dolls because the caregivers kept having nightmares
I was enjoying that as well. I’m not caught up on it but I like what I’ve seen
Secrets of Sulphur Springs isn't over yet though. They teased another season at the end of season three. He only reviews completed shows.
My absolute FAVORITE series you guys do!!!! Thank you❤❤❤
Finally the best series continue, we are getting close to a 24 hr video of all the commercial in the world!
One of my favorite yearly traditions!!
Same here.
Suggestions for Old Vs. New reviews:
A Night To Remember 1958 Vs. Titanic 1997.
Buzz Lightyear Of Star Command 2000 Vs. Lightyear 2022.
Dawn Of The Dead 1978 Vs. 2004.
Judge Dredd 1995 Vs. Dredd 2012.
Omega Man 1971 Vs. I Am Legend 2007.
Watership Down 1978 Vs. 2018.
I know some of these have been reviewed before, but I feel these would all make good Old Vs. New videos.
classic tv vs streaming tv.

that background is so american
it made me spawn a recreation of the declaration of independence, that i'm currently using as a shield
hopping that using the sacred scroll of pewpew land, will keep me safe from "avada-ka-floor-o-guns"
The first Zelda commercial had John Kassir, the voice of the Cryptkeeper. He was also on a show First and Ten on HBO.
You are one of the kings of comedy. You really live up to being called your channel name.
To be fair if someone offered me a Klondike bar I would do 100 pushups, run around in circles saying "I'm a vampire!" and I'd play hopscotch with Christopher Walken.
Yeah, i'm ok with this.
Even Doug deserves a bit of a break.
24:16 Cody: HES NOT A DOLL JOSEPH!!
lol yes
9:28 😂😂😂 this Shaq clip caught me off guard I still remember the nostalgia critic ranting about it
Roy Rogers also endorsed the Nissan Patrol in the ‘60s.
