It’s good to know others have met head mates in dreams. I met one of our head mates in dreams long before realizing we were a system. For reasons it was really important for us to communicate then, and we still communicate mostly through dreams.
For the question of "is it a switch or just your brain emulating a switch" I think it's both for us! But sometimes it's too hard to tell. "Did host have a dream ft me, or did I have a dream?" is a question we don't really know the answer to very much. And also, we find that there's a 50/50 chance that who went to bed is the one who wakes up, or if we get "reset" back to the host. It's weird.
I rarely remember any dreams, so hearing your perspective was so interesting! I know sometimes we switch overnight, but I never thought about it happening in a dream. Wild! Also your jammies look so comfy and nice and Nutmeg is adorable! Seeing them brought one of the littles really close and they wanted to let you know that :)
We're on Prozac, and the only main side effect we have is wicked realistic and complicated dreams. It's made figuring out who's a headmate and who's a dream person really hard; there have been super complex people in our dreams, and very "one dimensional" system members we found through dreams.
I remember a dream where I was co-con with one of our protectors, Carnelian (who was a persecutor at the time) She looked into a mirror during one part, and I could see her reflection and she looked like how she does in our inner world, but I couldn’t see through the body’s eyes, I was invisible and sort of looking over her shoulder, I’m not going to explain the dream in depth, but it kind of helped me understand how she views herself and how her brain works I had another dream where Skye (another protector) was talking to Carnelian about becoming a protector, it happened at a spot in our inner world We’ve been working to have more vivid dreams :)
@@WeAreAlexandra one way to become lucid is to always observe your surroundings and trying to remember how you got there. You can do it inside a dream to stabilizing and also doing the grounding techniques, it's like doing it directly inside your subconscious and the day after you feel automatically more grounded because you are teaching the brain in a safe space that you can handle being completely present in the moment, and that you don't need your consciousness to be detached from reality anymore. It s like you can teach the brain a new strategy to interact with reality, and I personally think this is more effective and long lasting if done inside a lucid dream because you are doing it from '' a deeper place '' in your subconscious
Yo we've noticed whoever goes to sleep normally wakes up too! Cool, we only know one system, and they don't have that. Also about dreams, we remember dreams pretty vividly a lot, and recently one of our headmates had a dream about one of our queer-platonic partners (she has a crush on them) and it was just very different to what most of us are used to
When I sleep for a short period of time like 3 or 4 hours and then wake up I almost always think that what happened in my dream is the reality, I start looking for things I had or wanted in the dream and it takes me a very long minute to be sure that I dreamt about those... the other night I woke up I went to eat a big mac you know... ahahah but there was nothing like a big mac waiting for me in the kitchen... we get confused so much hahaha we also feel like we share our dreams and that we can have our own body or share the same one in those dreams.
Thank you for covering this topic. We also like that your videos are concise and short - and so informational. :) We've had a lot more vidid dreams since the noodles started being welcomed to come forward - thank you again.
nutmeg allspice and cinnamon..!!! 🥺💗 that’s sooo cute. thanks for making this video!! have just been thinking deeply about this lately, such perfect timing
Now that you mention this I had just thought about it and I have been having dreams of just my alters going through their own thoughts and always in the dream and I find it very interesting to enjoy watching their dreams from the passenger side of the vehicle which is the body and watching their dreams occurring the only thing I hate was the nightmares that we all of had which is the same nightmare and that was a really ugly large creature that would chase us around in a dark void that I personally when I have a dream would slip into and the others would see it and feel it
hey! so i had a question, i have heard that alters cannot be killed but is it possible that maybe in the head space another alter can like kill an alter? im so sorry this is a really dumb question but i just wanted to know haha
So no, but yes. You can't actually kill an alter, but an alter can believe that they've been killed and go into dormancy, but they aren't really dead and gone forever. I've also heard reports of alters who have been "killed" coming back as ghosts or even corpses instead of as normal living people, but I'm not sure how common this is, and I imagine that it's theoretically reversible. Does that answer your question?

We definitely have true switches in our sleep and may wake up with the alter fronting who switched.

We had that with Zoloft! That's interesting :)

Have you ever tried to lucid dream? Learning it helped me decreasing dissociation a lot
I never thought of it decreasing dissociation! That's interesting :)

That switch before you sleep idea was a lightbulb moment, haha, thanks!
Great video, Susan! Thanks for sharing! - Octavia

I'm new to this and I seem to get messages in my dreams or sleep anyway but I didnt know if this was real or just my imagination.

We rarely remember dreams. We're not sure if this has to do with a sleep problem or what, but we don't really mind either way.
Off topic, I like your pokemon pillow.
Thank you! I put my head on it to sleep! 😊
Good use for it! Lol
