- Ed Bradley's report on schizophrenia, 23 years ago this week, revealed the lack of treatment and social services for the mentally ill, leaving many homeless with nowhere to go but on the streets.
My husband had paranoid schizophrenia. He told me to leave him due to him having violent hallucinations and thoughts. That man loved me more than himself and i hated leaving. We talked daily and one day he was found in his apartment. He deserved the world and more and i hate that we couldnt build that together because of something out of our control. Rip Willie...you deserved better and I'll always love you.

Our country doesn’t deal with mental health issues the right way. It’s shameful. We spend so much money sending it to other countries but we don’t help our citizens here who need help.
The same thing happened to my father 10 years ago though he wasn't properly diagnosed. one day he was alone at home sleeping.
My mom came back to find him dead with the gun on his hands
This is heartbreaking . I’ve fought my whole life to get help and they only told me I had this today . Her mother didn’t want to help her , very sad . I am fortunate to have a good family . God be with her .
It was the mid 80’s when ppl thought schizophrenia was when you had a split personality. People back then were not equipped nor did they no how to handle it. We weren’t educated on Schizophrenia or any other kind of mental health nor did we have the resources that we have today
This is from 1985 and so I am sure she has died by now and if you watched the whole story her mother was in the court room and wanted to help, but Judy and the lawyer didn't.
This is so awful. We need to do better for people.

Its especially sad because we viscerally react to one another on an evolutionary level. I found myself getting weirded out by a patient because he was acting bizarre, then I realised how dumb I was being, of course he was acting bizarre, thats not him, its a disease. They dont need pity, they need understanding and human care.
It's hard to help them if they believe they are ok in don't need help
person with schizophrenia has a paranoia people are following them. cameraman literally secretly tapes her and people laugh at them thinking they are deluded xDDD. they are the only sane people left in this world imo.

When it comes to psychopaths, it is diagnosed as "conduct disorder" or CD before the age of 18 years old. An example of a psychopath is some going in and out of jail for getting into bar fights.

Maybe she would just leave? Or refuse to go with her mom? I’m not sure. Or maybe she is dangerous to stay with her? It’s very sad. I really want to try to help these people more. 🙏💖
