US Navy Tested Tesla Laser Weapon System

- U.S. Navy tested the world’s first “Laser Weapons System” the other day. This system of directing energy as a weapon is based off Nikola Tesla’s work which he attempted to share with the U.S. military during the last decade of his life. Tesla too had experimented with lasers, or rays, but his experimentations showed that these rays disperse with distance, just like the weapon above does. So Tesla went in another direction and used microscopic particles in his defense weapon instead, which he coined a “particle beam.” Tesla’s device was a natural extension of his high frequency work after he produced 100 foot long sparks,
Tesla was an absolute genius. So far ahead of his time. Tesla gave us so much for so little.
There is this person called God who gave him that opportunity?

You don’t necessarily need a laser that can cut something in half with a quick swipe from ground to space. Although that would be nice. You just need enough radiation to mess up its electronics.
USPL is a pulse laser that grinds away the surface of the target.
The problem with EMP is there are ways to shield against it! For example, use TTL instead of CMOS FETs.
yup yup bet he didn't think about that but he did make a good then you came along ahahahah @@ThomasLee123 sorry
Light is radiation
@@AccaliaLife maybe so, but what I’m talking about is a little bit stronger than a flashlight.
So this the one they used on hawaii

2:25 the navy envisions it being used for precision and covert engagements, for starting fires, and what it calls graduated lethality...
Before you know it ,they'll be a compact one that fits in your pocket like on Star trek.
Humans won't make it that far, sorry
Star Trek phasers range from stunning to deatomizing the enemy. It is a DEW but not exactly a laser. The stunning aspect could be something like an electrolaser perhaps, but the killing deatomizing aspect? Not so much.
What you see now they already developed a few decades ago. They have many other aces up their sleeve.
@@zynark777 The Star Trek phaser could also literally make solid objects just disappear
@@nuclearpugg I already said that. What do you think deatomizing means?
Attaching several of these to a nuclear powered ship, and you have a defense system with almost unlimited ammo. The savings in weight would be truly remarkable. This would be especially good for aircraft. So now, I've witnessed the use of armed robots (drones) in combat and now the final testing of REAL laser weapons and railguns. Progress in technology since my childhood has been an absolute blur!
As long as you have a very good cooling system with liquid nitrogen, MAYBE this would be possible.
@@rRobertSmith Eternal radiators with a good heat-exchange system could suffice, particularly if the radiators were submerged underwater for greater transfer.
Unfortunately they have developed reflective coatings that reflect most of the power. It has already been field tested follow Israel news
@@mehranmossaddad1656 I seriously doubt that. Mirrors can't disperse the heat energy from the laser. A high-powered laser weapon would simply melt the glass and overheat the aircraft.

At this point in time and in the future, I can see the rational of creating this type of weapon!!! It’s hard to fight if everyone has equal power!
At this moment all of our weapons can be summerize in this:
"Throwing rocks or explosives at high speed"
Thats why if we are all equal wouldn't be a fight couse both sides would be afraid. Now, when we have a nato we are fu*ked up.
BINGO
This was Ronald Reagan's concept for LASER weapons in Star Wars. He wanted to erode the power of states who had nukes by inventing a weapon that could knock down ICBMs either in Boost Phase or during transport and then giving that tech to everyone so that no country was ever threatened by nuclear weapons.
There will always be another revolutionary weapon. Countermeasures will be developed, then it's onto the next horrifying tool of destruction
Maui? You there?😢
Works great in Hawaii
2:27 "starting fires" 😮🙄 interesting, very interesting
It’s so messed up that it makes it hard to believe, but when you put all the evidence together… May god have mercy…
VERY INTERESTED IN ULTRASHORT PULSED LASER (USPL).
USPL solves most of the problems of earlier and current LASER weapons by creating high energy pulses in the Terawatt range. Instead of a continuous stream of a high power laser, this weapon creates ultra high power at very short pulses (in the FEMTO second range). These extremely high power lasers solve so many problems with weight, heating, fog and mist, etc. that the USAF is very interested on placing them on all F-35s and even the coming 6th generation jets now nearing release.
There is not much information available on this new weapon but you can see by examining the hiring trends of high power labs like DARPA, Lockheed and others for what they are currently working on. Even more interesting is the government's slapping very high level security clearance on this project after initial successes in laboratory environments.
That wouldn’t solve the problem of rain or fog
@@TS-ij9cz
It does! You need to read the material I linked! USPL lasers supply such power (terawatts) that they actually punch a hole through the planet's atmosphere including smoke, rain and fog similar to a particle beam weapon!
@@ThomasLee123 I didn’t see a link, could you try again?
Also, you can buy a femtosecond industrial cutting laser with instantaneous powers exceeding hundred of terawatts for under 100k. You must be talking about something different

Instead of this we could have free energy🤷🏾♂️
I’ve never thought about using lasers to heat targets to make them easier to track with IR targeting devices.
Because thats just a much worse version of a guidance laser. Cheaper guided bombs have a laser seeker that just maneuvers towards a modulated invisible laser dot on the target, requiring very little power and drawing no attention.
Can someone please elaborate what kind of target your talking about? Like of your hunting a deer?
Tesla was so far ahead of his time, it is astounishing. It was like his ideas were out of sci fi novels but he had the practical principles mapped out in his mind/notes to make it real. Even the concept of wireless charging of cell phones, etc. came from Tesla (there was just no need for something like this during his era). It would be scary to think if the Nazi's had someone like him on their side during WWii (sure they had plenty of brilliant scientists, some defected to the United States to help build the NASA space program, and build Stealth Bombers, but Tesla was in the league of his own. It's really sad how he ended up in later years. Its even more pathetic how society looks upon Scientists/Engineers/Teachers vs. Entertainers (musicians that that just rehash old songs to a faster beat, pro atheletes with huge EGOS, actors that just memorize scripts, etc), sure I enjoy SOME entertainers, but no way do I put them in the same category as Scientists and Engineers and educators that help shape/motivate young minds to go on to greater things.
Can this start fires too?
2:28 says it can be used to start fires.

I can say about tanks for sure, when you hit a tank with a laser, the crew will be alerted that a laser is pointing at them, and will automatically turn the turret towards you.
As for penetrating a tanks armor, the laser will slowly cut through the armor. It will be nowhere near instant.
Depends on the power of the laser.

laser's enemy is any shiny surface. laser must overcome them.
Anyone else believe that a mirror could reflect the beam ?
It depends. If the intensity were higher than the damage threshold of the mirror material, it wouldn’t make a difference.
Sounds good but does not work. In the first place, mirrors make aircraft easier to spot. In an age of STEALTH that does not work. Also, such materials tend to be heavy. Not good for aircraft that sweat $Millions for every Kilo.

Thank you. Another video in more detail about the power consumption problem, which has yet to be solved, would be great. And after that, could you do a show on counter lasers, also known as anti laser disrupter beams please.
Actually, a current warship's onboard generator provides power sufficient to operate the existing laser weapons. And each shot costs less than one dollar.
For your other point... there's no such thing as an "anti-laser," and disruptors are still currently in the realm of science fiction.

This is so cool! I wonder how effective it would be against hypersonic missles
Lasers travel at the speed of light; coupled with existing tracking systems, they could easily intercept hypersonic missiles.
@@MilesEdgeworth129 yup and you don’t have to lead in front of them
@@MilesEdgeworth129Yet you need to transfer enough energy to the missile to destroy it. You cannot reliably aim it from a distance of several kilometers, as it will reach its target within 1-3 seconds at a distance susceptible to engage. Lasers are such a gimmick to waste military money.
@@maxdefire Wow, you have a very rudimentary knowledge of military technology. We have multi-spectral tracking systems, capable of zooming to several thousand times magnification, that were designed originally for the purpose of radar-based tracking. Coupled with the improved software that exists, along with advancements in micro- and nano-servos for precision aim, a modern laser weapon can hit a target within visual range.
Also, laser light is coherent, unlike most natural light from the Sun, or artificial light from LEDs. Coherent light, with proper focusing lens arrays and compensation for distance and bloom effect, can transfer a significant percentage of their wattage into a target.
Laser weapons are anything but a gimmick. The test videos of the LaWS and HELIOS laser weapons show they are capable of disabling boat engines and drones without completely destroying them. You cannot do that with conventional projectile weapons. Lasers have the added advantage of being less-lethal.
And a waste of money? Do you even math, friend? Ammunition for cannons and miniguns is pretty expensive, and takes up a lot of storage, adding some additional pressure on logistics to be up to par. But laser "ammo" takes up no space, and costs less than one dollar per shot on existing systems. The only limit is the output of the ship's onboard generator/reactor. If you ask me, that's actually a very *inexpensive* measure that will pay for itself.
Aside from upfront cost, you really think lasers are not something worth looking into? You think the technology can't get any better and would therefore be a waste of time? Not only that, but the cost of the existing laser weapons is barely a dent in the US Department of Defense budget.
You really need to get your head out of the 20th Century, and see just how with new technology, we must adapt. If we don't research potential for new technology, there will never be any new technology. R&D is *never* a waste of money.
@@maxdefire Something tells me you really don't know what the fuck you're talking about.
1-3 seconds to go a few kilometers, at the speed of light? Explain how the fuck you're getting a laser so slow, because I'd love to hear it, as I'm sure every physicist on the planet would as well.
Thats funny, all you need to defend from this is 3 mirrors. Put them together in 90 degree angles and everything that hits it gets reflected to where it came from.

This is old technology..in the golf war we had the technology to create lightning. A humvee came out and pointed a laser at some enemy vehicles then a lightning bolt came out from nowhere and hit that vehicle...its the same way electrons and protrones exited eachother....we had the technology back then to do this.
