Change your fuel filters as well ! Changed mine when I did my oil change and I’ve increased at least 1-2 mpg. I’m sitting at 14-15 with a hydra tuner and on 37s. Definitely going to to get 35s to at least get 1-2 more mpg !

Mileage & speedometer will not be accurate if you do not calibrate your speedometer to the different tire size from stock. Just an FYI
Stock 1999 7.3L 16mpg average / 21mpg highway. 280, 000 miles. I ran a Superchips for years when hauling horses, but I removed it when I stopped hauling. Other than extra towing power & speed limiter delete. It's not much different than stock on fuel mileage economy. Thanks for sharing.
I ordered this truck in December 1998, F-250 Super Duty Lariat Special Edition package (Pre-King Ranch 1 of 1) with F-350 suspension & towing package, 6-Speed, Locking 3.73:1 RWD

You have to be sure to account for the bigger tire size when calculating your actual mileage. The truck thinks you have stock tires on it so when it is calculating the distance you have went on your odometer it is based on how many revolutions of the tire. If your tires are 5% larger then you have actually gone 5% farther than the odometer is showing. For example if you went 100 miles on 5 gallons of gas you would be at 20MPG. Since the tires are 5% bigger you actually went 105 miles and your mileage is 21MPG.

Yea the CTS monitor will let u plug in stock tire size and new tire size then it will give you accurate trip mileage and speed. I run 37” tires on my 7.3 and that’s roughly 17% further than what the odometer says.

Clean EBPV is a big one for mpg increase if not cleaned or cleaned in a while. Don't delete the EBPV if you live in a climate where it can get even down in the 40s F. Unless you plan on always plugging it in anyways when it gets cold. People say how it increases their mpg by up to 4mpg.

  • @Bwanar1

Which tune are you using there are tons and they all give different results. The Hydra itself does nothing without a specific tune. It has to be adjusted (tuned), for your specific truck for max potential. Three MPG's is a great gain. I notice a couple miles an hour difference from so hotter tunes over my mileage tunes. The ScanGuage II is good value for the money and is very accurate at keeping track of your mileage.
