Regarding maintenance, check your batteries because the corrosion you're seeing in the video on the battery hold down has eaten into bare metal. If you take a volt meter and put the red prong to the positive terminal of the battery and touch the negative prong to the metal hold down or even on top of the battery case, you'll see your leaking voltage and that would be a slow discharge. Not going to help mileage but it will keep the battery alive longer. Remove the battery hold down, clean it and repaint it (I used plastic dip) to keep corrosion from eaten through it completely.
I have the same air intake on my 2016 6.7PSD. Mine is in front of the battery because that's what Ford did those older years. Minimal MPG improvement but throttle slightly better and sounds better. I just got a FilterWears pre-filter because on long highway trips, that open-top design which draws in more air, also draws in more debris like bugs. Especially since the hood to grille gap allows it. Going on a trip today for the weekend and will see if my MPGs changed with the added pre-filter.
@@powerstrokemaintenance caught a few bugs on it which was what I wanted it to do. That way they aren't stuck deep in the filter pleats. Hopefully less filter cleaning over time. MPG not sure. I can tell you I got better just by my knowledge of this same trip I take every month and where I was on fuel level at my halfway point full up. Nothing to do with the filter wrap I'm sure (the improvement). But it obviously didn't do anything to reduce the MPG's. My better MPG had to do more with the times I left to beat some high traffic area slow downs (Orlando area of the Turnpike) that normally occur.
Yes I could not believe how restrictive my stock air filter was espesualy after I deleted all that failed science engine killing emision control crap. It literally checked my engine to death. When I pulled out to pass on a hill my replace air filter light would come on. I put an S&B kit in and saved the day. Man what a difference when that motor could breathe. I'm talking of my 08 F350. It's the least you can do.
@@powerstrokemaintenance maybe it will change in the future companies like wave of air have claimed their new pistons will lower emissions by 80% if that is true since a couple podcast have spoken about it if it does what they say it does then engine breathing may come back 😁👍 and expensive repairs will be Thing of the (past this is speculation by the way it could very well be a sham we will just have to wait and see)
I cant believe you never talked about how to change your gear ratio. Now this might be an expensive model but you are playing with huge HP why not use it I mean come on

Yeah the stock air filters are gnarly. How do you like the S&B filter so far? It sounds like it was a big improvement?
I gave up on all that aftermarket crap years ago. I’m pretty sure the engineers know what’s best when they built these rigs.
